From the start we were greeted by and assisted throughout the evening by the excellent and delightful Paisley! She truly helped make this a night to remember by being helpful, thoughtful, and fun. I recently hosted an event for my nonprofit organization at Violet Cactus's Studio location. I cannot say enough great things about the venue. Krystal and Steve were fantastic from the moment I started communicating with them. They were so accommodating and incredibly organized in terms of ensuring the venue was perfect for our event. Whether it was making sure we knew how to utilize certain technologies like the sound system or the HD projector, we were guided every step of the way. Not to mention, there are clear instructions laid out at the venue to help with making sure that the event runs smoothly, from start to finish. As for the venue itself, this is an excellent spot if you are looking to host an event for a moderately large group (and for smaller groups too). There were plenty of included amenities that made hosting easy and fun. The layout of the space was perfect for the group to mingle without feeling overcrowded. The cleanliness of the venue was another positive (shoutout to Paislee). We are definitely going to return to Violet Cactus for our future events, and I highly recommend any and all groups (large and small) to book the venue because this is the perfect venue to have a memorable event with friends, family, etc. read more

This review is WAAAAY overdue. I absolutely cannot say enough great things about this venue and their staff. I even booked the Petite venue recently or our second even. Krystle was so patient and informative with all my questions. I upgraded the package to include the centerpieces and it was absolutely perfect because we didn't have to worry about picking out and transporting centerpieces. We just bought dozens of flowers and placed them in and around the venue. But let me tell you about our coordinator Rubi. She was an absolute gem to work with! She helped with everything from unloading our car, setting up, assisted during the event, clean up and loading out. Even the balloons and sign were already set up by the time we got there. She even helped us to rearrange items to make sure it was what we wanted. I didn't even have to ask her questions or for help because she already was on it. It's like she already knew what I was thinking. Her service was outstanding that I requested her for our second event. She couldn't have been more perfect for our events. All of our guests, the birthday girl and myself were more than pleased with everything from start to finish. I attended an Event over the weekend at this venue, I was so startled and frightened at the end of the night a woman came in very aggressive and started yelling and stabbing the balloons with a large knife. Later I learned this was the Owner of Violet Cactus Studio, this behavior was so awful and quite scary for other guests as well. I was very impressed during the actual event, was texting friends and posting pics. After seeing and experiencing the attitude and demeanor of the Venue owner I WOULD NOT recommend using this space for any type of Event to anyone. I was truly disappointed after what was a beautiful celebration. No one should ever be subjected to this kind of behavior in front of your guests. read more

I highly recommend their signature package that included the table decor. When I arrived the space was already stunning and the event helper Shawn was beyond helpful with set up and clean up. I came across this venue while looking to host a milestone birthday, after seeing the beautiful decor, I knew this is where I wanted to host my party. First of all, the management team was very responsive. Their packages are pretty straightforward and the accommodations alone were good enough with the rental of the venue itself. Secondly, I hired two assistants through them, Pablo and Tina for bartending and setup/cleanup; they were the best helpers to make my event a success. Glad they were there to help! My sisters and I came across this venue on one of the wedding websites to have her wedding. It is such an beautiful venue. It was beautifully decorated both in and out. They had a main hall where we held the ceremony, they had a kitchenette and hallway where we did a self-serve cocktail, and they had a beautiful outdoor balcony where the dinner was held. They had everything we were looking for, we just had to provide catering. I absolutely need to give a shout-out to the helping staff that assisted me and my family throughout the night, Tina!! She was just an absolute sweetheart, was always ready to jump in to help when needed, and took charge of the behind the scenes such as refilling our drink buckets when we're running low, set up the dessert and appetizers table! Anytime i had asked if there was anything I could do to help her, she assured me everything was fine which allowed me to enjoy myself in my sister's wedding! The best help EVER!! My fiancé and I eloped but needed a place for a small African ceremony and reception. Krystal (I believe she is the owner) was super flexible and made the process painless. The venue is represented well on their website but I do recommend checking it out in person to assist with planning your set up. Also, the assistant we were provided with for the evening went above and beyond for us and made sure things ran smoothly. It should be noted that they do have a max for guests which isn't a bad thing but may be a deal breaker if your guest list keeps growing. Wait, let me explain why I didn't give 5 stars. Violet cactus is a lovely venue that needs minimal decoration & has just about everything you need to have an event. However, IF YOU HAVE NEVER THROWN AN EVENT BEFORE, BE PREPARED TO BE ON YOUR OWN!! Trust me when I say, the staff only communicates with you when you reach out first. You have to make sure to know & ask for what you want/need, cause they will NOT reach out to ask you. They are super booked and busy, and if you need quicker response, Steve is your man! Krystal is super busy and she may be a "straight shooter". She is overall really cool and is great at what she does. You just have to know what you want, know how you want to execute it, & ask for it (ask Steve cause Krystal is mad busy & it'll take her a long time to get back to you). It actually was the 2nd event I've thrown this year, so thank goodnessI had a tiny bit of experience! I arrived and the whole staff was there and excited and ready to roll! Everything I needed, they made sure I had the moment I walked in. Would I book there again? Now that I have more experience- ABSOLUTELY!! If you're a newbie, should you book there? I had my event planners book my Joint birthday party with my boyfriend for June 4, 2022 . When I arrived I was so happy ! The place was beautiful the Decour , Flowers , ballon's , and the food . Everything was exactly what we wanted. It was such a beautiful night . I did notice that the music kept cutting off while dancing but I was in pure bliss so we kept singing and dancing anyway. Towards end of the night my planners came to me and notified me that we had to get all of my guest out by a certain time . By their tone and their demeanor it seemed very crucial .My planners let me know that there was a noise ordinance ,and that the police could possibly come by and that we had to ensure everyone's safety and getting them out timely manner and as quietly as possible . As I'm hugging everyone and thanking my guest for coming saying our goodbyes I was stifled by a angry disheveled woman in a black sweatsuit yelling at everyone ,And started popping balloons with a knife it was so loud and aggressive my planners had me immediately pulled out the venue had my car service pick me up around the corner, I was so confused I had no clue what was going on , who was this woman? Why was she acting in that manner . The next day my planners notified me that was the owner and filled me in on what exactly was going on . I am very disappointed That all of that took place in front of my guest in front of and to the people we hired to make my party such a beautiful experience. I am saddened on how my night ended in such an unfortunate way . My party was so beautiful it was such a positive night with so much love and happiness until this Angry woman walked in screaming and stabbing balloons I've never in my adult life seen anything like this before and very disappointed with this type behavior that I witnessed I paid a lot of money for this very event very disappointed . read more

I booked a party for my client here on June 4,2022 my partner and I decided it would be best to book the venue for the entire day . We booked the venue 11am-11pm with a party start time of 6:30 pm . I had a previous dinner party at their Petite venue and had a great experience ! I was upfront with all the specifics regarding decorations . I booked 3 of their in house of ballon services ,1 bartender and 1 helper for the evening. We did have a surprise mid party when a male came in with flip flops shorts and a flannel washing dishes and eating our food and never introduced himself or told us what and why he was there. Later we realized he was a helper #2 we did not request or agree to have . At 6:30 pm The Wi-Fi wasn't working so the DJ was not able to get music going so there was a delay in the party getting into full swing . at around 8pm the wifi kept cutting out so songs would cut off for a second mid play , also if the volume would go up the system would shut off completely, but the guest began to have fun despite that . Once everybody started to have their drinks and began eating it was now 9pm the female helper notified my partner and I that we need to start cleaning up right now and start to prepare guest to leave. Per agreement yes guest are to leave by 10:30 pm then fully loaded out by 11pm . We were also told to notify if any additional time is needed which will cost a additional fee . It was 9pm we explained to the female helper that due to technical difficulties we asked could we possibly have a little more time we totally do not mind paying any fee for additional time. I went over on time during my previous visit and it wasn't a problem I paid for the overtime. . The female helper then stepped outside and proceeded to call the owner , the female helper came back inside she handed me her phone and asked me to talk to Krystal . I then explained there was a delay In the party getting into full swing because of the technical difficulties and could we please have an additional hour . Krystal's main focus was on noise . The party was inside and only operating on one tiny speaker and Krystal mentioning the noise ordinance and police in the area being very sensitive to the noise and that I would need to make sure that my guest will leave in silence to abide by the noise ordinance of course that's no problem but it's only 9 and we were not any louder than a normal party the guest were in the mid 30s and up and mostly professionals in the entertainment industry . Krystal stated she needed to find out from her cleaning crew to see if they can be pushed an hour and would call back . Later The female helper told us we had until 12 AM several times . At 11 pm the female helper proceeded to turn off all the lights in the building . . My partner and I notified everyone that by 11:30 they need evacuate the building. At 1145 the owner came barging in , Again the female helper told us we had until 12 . Many guest had left and some were still leaving . There was a open bar and guest were doing the responsible thing and waiting for Ubers , we made it clear that there was a sensitivity about the noise and police looking for people violating the noise ordinance per Krystal, so naturally a lot of guest chose to wait inside for their Uber. In efforts to intimidate guest to leave , Krystal then took a knife out and started violently and aggressively popping balloons . Krystal began yelling at my partner myself and the photographer in front of guest and the client. when the photo booth vendor came to retrieve his equipment Krystal was trying to lock the door in his face he explained he needed the remaining pieces of his equipment because Krystal in her rage ripped his wires out the wall and very aggressively tossed his booth in the parking lot I was worried it had been broken I did notify him about the handling of his equipment . I felt so awful for him as he did nothing wrong to be treated in this manner. it was so embarrassing. I felt awful for the way in which the guests had to leave and witness this behavior and for my client who spent a lot of money on this event all to end in that way , not to mention that everything was being thrown outside . Items were just being thrown the trash by staff. Some of my personal property I was not able to retrieve due to Krystal's rage I was so scared especially with so many random acts of violence happening right now . I stayed in the parking lot once I seen a knife in her hands and did not step foot back in the building. anytime any of us would walk in the building to grab our things Krystal would pick up the knife and start violently stabbing balloons and stop when we would exit . The unknown male helper was following my vendors around making them feel uncomfortable like as if they were stealing asking" is that ours " I did record for all of our safety as well . We were packed and in the car by driving off at 12:45 read more

Very professional studio with great people! Steve Hanneman is very approachable and uplifting. He is a man of many skills and uses several tactics to help his students succeed. Steve has a very blunt, clever, and entertaining persona which enables his students to stay engaged during his classes. While sitting through one of his free acting workshops, I was able to learn more in one hour than I did in three years. Steve hides no secrets and will tell you the ins and outs of the industry using several examples of scene work done by eminent actors. Steve is an amazing teacher that has his own ways of communicating with each student individually. His classes are always interactive and substantial. He always shoots and analyses performances and tries to give as much feedback as possible which makes it easier for actors to follow his tips and improve. The atmosphere of the studio itself is very welcoming and friendly. The decorations and the set up makes the place cozy and very cinematic! There's always snacks and coffee offered. Steve knows exactly how to make actors comfortable during workshops and classes. He is very tactful towards each of the actors, which makes people wanting to actually listen to what he has to say towards the performance.
