After receiving several bids for work on my home, I contracted with Vinyl Concepts to install 2 patio covers plus a gate on my condominium in Westlake Village, CA. Vinyl Concepts was the most professional of the companies providing bids. Within a week of my initial call, they scheduled and arrived at my home to discuss the work I desired. They measured and provided a bid for work at the end of that appointment. Every facet of this job went so well, that I felt I needed to share such a great experience! From the initial contact, to scheduling, to the actual work performed, I was 100% pleased. Every Vinyl Concepts staff member returned my phone calls and texts in a timely manner and did everything they could to work with my schedule and my budget. My home is located in a beautiful, well-maintained community, so I needed a well-designed and attractive product. Vinyl Concepts did not disappoint! Both patio covers, and the gate are first-class. My home desperately needed shade, so I chose a combination of comfort shade (full coverage) plus picket style (for natural light). One of the covers is rectangular, but the other is an L-shape so it was a bit trickier to build and attach to the house, but these people are so highly skilled, they made it look easy. I will attach some pictures as words cannot tell the whole story. The job took 6 days from start to finish, just as promised. They even sent extra helpers to ensure the job was completed on time. The crew showed up as promised every morning and worked full days. If I had questions during the job, the crew was close at hand and handled them effectively. From the beginning, I appreciated the communication I received about the project - from consultation to scheduling. Everyone was courteous and professional. We wanted a simple wooden fence and gates for our new home, and after getting a few quotes, Vinyl Concepts had the most competitive pricing, which we appreciated as new home owners with several projects to tackle. Our installers Calixto and Victor were especially wonderful to work with. We live in an old home in an old area, so there were aspects of our wood fence install that required custom problem solving. Calixto would ask my preference on a solution if reasonably required. For instance, the chainlink fence between us and our neighbor leaned heavily into our yard, minimizing our yard space by a meaningful amount. He recommended a solution that straightened the chainlink fence, reinforced it once straightened, and allowed us to keep our yard space intact. Other aspects, such as cutting the wood to fit custom areas so our dog couldn't see into the neighbors' yards was greatly appreciated. He also recommended a gate open out instead of in, which was inconsequential to us in this case, because the uneven pavement allowed for a narrower gap underneath if done that way. We're very happy with our new fence. It has made such a difference in our daily lives already. We would recommend Vinyl Concepts to anyone. read more

Earlier this week, Vinyl Concepts (based in Newbury Park) completed the installation of one of their custom pergolas that is essentially two joined offset rectangles with an overall width of 40+ feet. We are extremely pleased with the resulting product as well as the overall experience and would strongly recommend them for any similar vinyl hardscaping work (fences, pergolas, railings, etc.) you may need. From start to finish we were treated with care, respect, consideration and understanding by everyone involved in the process. Throughout our interactions, we felt that the Vinyl Concepts team and staff had our interests and satisfaction as their goal. It started with Fred, who worked with us by refining the details through the choices and developed a mutually acceptable estimate. We were even asked to meet the company owners when we visited for signing the contract, and they made us feel this was much more than another transaction to them. There are two people that I will single out as being exceptional to work with. The first was Carlos, their designer/engineer that translates customers' wishes to practical solutions using their highly customizable products. He clearly knows his product lines and was able to make suggestions that improved our final product. Just as importantly, he was willing to listen and convert some suggestions by us to better adapt the design to our unique layout. The second was Vladimir (Vlad), who was the crew lead throughout the onsite installation. He was very meticulous, and demonstrated excellent knowledge of the field-fit assembly process as well as true artisan skills. Vlad was also very willing to seek our opinion and hear us out when specific choices were available. Both Carlos and Vlad were key to the overall great satisfaction we have with our contractor choice and the finished product. Incidentally, we were initially looking at online similar products, but were hesitant to commit as we would have needed to hire out the installation to a third party, and did not want to deal with any possible issue that may arise between the two entities. Surprisingly, Vinyl Concepts was cost competitive when comparing apples to apples (white vinyl). As a bonus going with Vinyl Concepts gave us a choice of finish upgrade (Maple-look vinyl) which was otherwise unavailable and matched our house trim color. A little disappointed in some things that were left out or not done according to our conversations regarding the job. So this is going to be a weird review in that I never actually purchased anything from them, though I tried! In short, I was referred to this company from Apollo, a luxury pergola maker as Vinyl Concepts are a certified installer for their product. I connected with Carlos who came out and waked us through our options over a month ago. Fast forward to this past week - We're doing a backyard remodel and I spent about 1.5 weeks negotiating pricing, options, etc. and we finally came to a deal; I signed the contract and wrote a deposit check. Carlos went to the city to start permitting per our agreement. Come to find out that the city wont' allow us to do what we want (don't get me started...) so all of the time and effort done in pre-sales was wasted and we can't proceed. I tried to compensate him for his time and effort, he wouldn't let me. Such a positive pre-sales experience and even when things fell through, the utmost professionalism and kindness afterwards. When our wood front and back patio covers started flaking paint, we decided to have them replaced with vinyl instead of having them repainted. The front of our house gets a lot of sun, which heats up the house; therefore, we choose to replace our traditional wood picket style front patio cover with a vinyl fixed louvered patio cover and have it extended beyond the patio to shade all of the front windows of the house. The wood picket style back patio cover was replaced with a picket style patio cover in vinyl. They both look very nice. Even when the wood patio covers were new, they didn't look this nice. We had asked that the patio covers be installed such that the eaves would not be boxed in, as they had been with the old wood patio cover in the back. The boxed in eaves had created an apartment complex for birds. The back patio cover was installed as requested, such that the eaves were not covered, but the installers were not told that we wanted the front patio cover installed in the same manner. We complained to Carlos and Alec at Vinyl Concepts that we did not like how the front patio cover had been installed; they had it fixed such that it met our expectations, without any additional expense and in a timely manner. I contacted Vinyl Concepts because our entire fence surrounding our property was damaged and down due to the winds in January. I'll start off by saying in the beginning I was really frustrated due to the 6-8 week backlog of jobs they had. I almost went with another company because we needed a fence up as soon as possible due to all of our neighbors having dogs and needing the backyard space. Chris was our sales rep. He was very nice and did a good job of explaining what would be needed to be done. After taking the measurements he told me someone would be out for the final measurements as we got closer to our end date. A few weeks later someone contacted me with a date for final measurements which was about a month out. The day came for final measurements and I was told it would be another month or two before they could start my fence. I requested they move it up to as soon as possible and they told me they'd try there best. They were able to move it up a week but I asked if they have an sooner openings to please call me. As we approached the date of install I called a few days prior to make sure it was scheduled and we were good to go. The scheduling department told me they could be out the next day which was 5 days earlier. I happily agreed. The reason I'm giving an5 star review is because Peter and the install crew did a great job. They were courteous to me and my neighbors and worked all day. They even came in on a Saturday to finish the job. They clearly communicated with us what they were doing. While there was a few hiccups they fixed any issues we had or offered a solution. My only recommendation if you use them is to clearly mark sprinklers as a few broke during install but that's fine. Recommendation to management: work on communication I was often the middle man to the neighbors and a few of them weren't contacted on when install was happening. read more
