The feta cheese was absolutely disgusting, it tasted like imitation rubber cheese. - The "Al Ajillo" Style Shrimps (GAMBES AMB ALLADA) had a very strange flavor within it, which overwhelmed the garlic flavors. - The Beef Tenderloin (FILET VEDELLA), she had to spit 1/4 of it out because it was too tough. - Everything was overpriced there for the value. For entrées, we had a monkfish, prawn, and calamari in romesco sauce, and a confit of duck with celery purée and shoe string fries. The fish was moist and flavorful, the duck was tender and juicy. Our desserts were a crema catalan and a tortada de santa maria. The crema was was a well done custard that was lightly sweet. The tortada was similar to a tres leches cake except with one of the leches being a sour cream, so also not overly sweet, but really enjoyable. Situated in a former stable with a arched stone ceiling, the acoustics of the room dampen sound--ensuring a comfortable ambiance even with a room full of families conversing and eating. All-in-all, we really enjoyed the meal. In addition to being delicious, it was very filling. We would gladly return if ever at Monserrat again.
