From the moment we entered the Cottage, it instantly became a favorite ~ everything was beyond gorgeous. The displays are breathtaking ~ filled with all things beautiful. Soaps, jewelry, faux flowers, home decor... it is most definitely a haven for gift giving. The quality of these stunning offerings are certainly worth their reasonable prices. The store is great. I've been shopping here for years and, like any thrift store, it can be hit or…read moremiss, but I usually leave with something. They generally have very nice items at good prices, and I've donated to them several times over the years because I support the cause. However, after a recent experience, I won't be donating to them again. Donations close at 4 p.m., and I arrived at 3:45 pm. I was told they were already closed. I showed them the time on my phone and pointed out that it wasn't 4 p.m. yet, but the employees rolled their eyes, gave me attitude, and only reluctantly accepted the items. There are plenty of other thrift stores in the area that are happy to accept quality donations and don't treat people who are trying to give nice items like dirt. I'll continue shopping here because the store workers are wonderful, but when it comes to donating, I'll be taking my things elsewhere.

Just a few minor things. I personally did not feel like the cashier in the front of store was welcoming. Sure they helped someone who asked about their restroom, but I don't know that they ever greeted anyone who came in. I'm very sensitive to this when I'm shopping, because a warm greeting can mean a lot to unfamiliar tourists. I also felt like the clothes, to me, were on the expensive side. The price of $25 felt right for some shirts/blouses, but not for others, but it was a default price nonetheless. Replica band/concert tees were priced equally high, and some of them were beat up while not being vintage. Other items, I just felt like I could find at the thrift and get a better deal. I thrift a lot from many, many different venues, so I know this for sure. While I understand the beauty of a vintage store is that someone else did the shopping for you, the markup felt like a lot at times.
