I also found some treasures in the home goods section. They have a pretty good selection of formal dresses from the 80s to current. I definitely snagged a couple to try to sew into some sort of costume. The staff were really friendly and so were the other customers. A really nice experience!

There are still a few pieces of furniture deeply discounted (bookshelves for $25.00), a couple racks of clothes and some kitchen items, hangers, toys still for sale but beware... the offerings are exceptionally few. The shop is nearly empty, and the staff seem preoccupied enough to even notice you are there. From Sloan's Thrift Facebook page: Exciting News! Sloans thrift will be closing its doors and relocating across the street to its new location next to the new Planet Fitness (old rite aid location or for better clarity, near Ollie's. This move is already in process. Even thought the idea saddens us, we are looking forward to a bigger location. The plan is to close up last week in April and reopen May1st. I received the furniture and realized after they left the arm of the love seat if damaged. I called and was told someone has to come out and fix it. I went to the store two more times and told them we wanted it replaced. They couldn't help till someone came out. It is now March 10th and the guy came out today, we told him we want it replaced beacuse the cushion is also not right. Be careful buying from Ashley because then can send you damaged stuff, and it's hard to get it replaced. I still don't have an answer if they are replacing it or NOT. If not replaced we will return both the sofa and love seat!

The next day the salesman (Ted I think) called us and told us that unfortunately that particular sever was discontinued. Okay so we canceled the order and the salesman was going to credit back our credit card. That was March 7. Today we sat down to pay the credit card bill guess what was still on our card?! That's right the $450+ charge for discontinued furniture!!! Called diamond furniture put us on hold, transferred us to here and there, hold again, "Manager is busy. Can he call you back?" No the hell he can't! We called our credit card company and reported the fraudulent charge. In the end we finally got our money back. Diamond furniture is a rip off and shady!!!

You need to put it behind the counter. ( my purse is a Vera Bradley Disney bag) My husband says that's her purse.. she says, ok take your purse out of the bag and I'll put your bag behind the counter. I say nooo these are my belongings. (I have cash, credit cards, car keys, my phone, a Louis Vuitton wallet, and my children's wallets with their cash) She says "you're not allowed to have a back pack, it's on the door"... my husband (who is a police officer) says "let's go! She thinks we're going to steal!" She says, "no, it's just if you happen to turn around and break something you'll have to pay for it". I have never broke anything is any store with my purse in my life. I have also been to this store multiple times with no issues. (I don't carry a normal purse. I had bought a vintage couch years ago that I loved. When I bought it they asked "are you buying…read morethe sponge bob square pants couch". Hell yes was the answer. It had amazing fringe all around the cushions and was in mint condition and was large... really long and ample. Fast forward a few years down the road, I use this couch at my business and it had gotten beaten up by People sitting on it and also my dog laying all over it. I heard about Schwartz slipcover workshop and had a meeting with one of the owners Francine. She came (she lived locally) and looked at my couch and gave me great advice. She helped me pick out fabric that would be durable yet elegant and completely agreed with me that the character of the couch was amazing and that we should honor the fringe on the couch and do it again in blue. Her prices were fair and she was transparent trying to help me get the best value for my money. Seriously amazing work done efficiently with normal sane people who valued our time and tried to make it as convenient as possible. I love to refer people to other people who had great skill and temperament and I have recommended them to many people with total comfort and ease. I thought I'd share this with the yelp community so that you too know how amazing these people are and how much I love the attention to detail and service they provided me. I have to stop myself from buying every vintage piece I see with good bones that could benefit from their work - but you don't have to! Trust me, I'm a picky pain in the butt!
