I came over the weekend and my massage was overall an 'okay' experience. Paul is a rough massager. I typically like more pressure on my back but I felt like this was too much. It really felt like at times he was massaging me with his elbows and with his forearms, including during my neck massage. I asked a few times for him to go gentle and he laughed (not at me, there's a language barrier and I got the sense he was laughing me off because he didn't understand what I was wanting). he even asked me if I was okay due to me getting very stiff at times when he was massaging me. I asked for him to be softer and he laughed again but nothing changed. I know he had a hard time understanding me and I was trying not to be rude but this massage was far from relaxing. Another thing I didn't appreciate was while massaging me, he tapped my shoulder and showed me his phone. He was using a google translate back. It said something to affect of 'you need cupping.' He then said in broken English that my "back muscles need more care,' 'cupping will fix back' and he was going to go get them. The problem is, due to the broken English it was not explained to me that he was upcharging me. It came across as 'you need this I'm doing this to help you' when in reality it was a poor sales pitch that went over my head. They make you pay BEFORE you even get the massage, so again it never crossed my mind that he was upcharging me. I paid for $50 for 45 minutes and when I checked my watched, at the time of his cupping I had 20 minutes left. So I genuinely did not know he was upcharging me. So when we were done and I walked out, he was there with a cup of water. I went to hand him a tip which he accepted but said 'wait.' He then went behind the counter, typed 25 on a calculator and showed me. I was like 25 what? And then he said for cupping. So I just wish that part was explained to me as I had only brought cash and did not have an additional $25. It's been a day later and I have soreness on my back and the sides of my neck. I've taken a ibuprofen because turning my head left or right is painful. So just an fyi, if hard pressure is something you desire I do recommend Paul. If you happen to have him and it's not your thing, you'll have to really assert yourself that he needs to be softer. read more

Vintage Relax on Dale Rd. has been used by my AIRBNB FOR almost 9 years. Probably 75 guests. But, I now have caught Vintage staff 3x in the past 2 years NOT CHANGING any of THE TOWELS ON THE LOUNGE CHAIRS after being used by people who just left! Wow...COVID Unsanitary! They just smooth out the same towels and reuse them! Unhealthy! I was told this issue was addressed when I brought it to Alissa's attention last year. So, I again took another guest on 5/19/23 and purposely watched after 2 people were done with their massages. I watched both staff Not Changing those used towels! These towels were used by 2 people to lay on, cover their bodies, lay their heads on and lay across their faces! Disgusting! I jumped up very angry and Dan to the front desk & told the man at the desk, Alissa's husband! Yet, he denied it! I asked for a refund! He refused! Giving a one star review only for their eyelash extention services and I'll tell you why... I went a day ago to get my eyelashes done and they 1 looks NOTHING like the photo I showed her, 2 burned the entire 3 hrs she was doing them and 3 ended with a chemical burn in both eyes which is still painful 24 hrs later and I'm assuming will continue to hurt the next day. She kept poking my eye lids the entire time... the entire experience was just very uncomfortable and painful, definitely not worth going if you want your eyelashes done. At least she gave me 100 dollars back out of the 200 that I gave her! Because what she did was NOT worth 200 dollars. Not once have I been disappointed. $20 they sit you in a chair that lays down flat, soak your feet. As your feet soak they massage the top half of your body. They then move onto your feet. Once your feet are done they'll turn you over and massage your back. All with you clothes on. I was in town for business and fairly bored so figured why not get a massage. Given the low price the massage was decent, but nothing special. The towels covering the beds are extremely rough and remind me of the towels i use in the garage at home. Now the place was clean, but the massage left a lot to be desired. It was kinda like being beaten with tiny hands for an hour. Definitely not relaxing. Next time I want a massage like this I'll ask some kids to punch me in the back. I used this place before but since Sunday wheni went in for massage. I can barely walk. The massage was way to rough and I am actually seeing my primary care doctor for the pain tomorrow. I paid full price. $55 and knew massage was strong during time even making noises so that therapist would understand. They use their point elbows alot. I have bruising. Plus, they wait at the counter for tipping after your dressed with water. I asked for 4 $5 bills and was told they had no $5 so then I was forced to give a $10 tip. They will no longer see my business. I also took my son with me and his massage was also on rough side and felt she spent too much time on his gluten. FYI my left leg buckled on me on Sunday night in my garage at 2am and with all the pain and no phone in sight I had to crawl back to doorway to house to pull myself up. I had Noone here and no phone and it was an hour to hour in half process cause I had to crawl on my knees on cement and now even have more bruising. They reuse dirty towels/linens Instead of changing the linens after each customer they straighten up the dirty ones just used (people sweat and drool during the massages....not to mention dandruff, lice, flaking skin). My feet have been aching lately due to running and working out. My achilles tendon has been sore as well. I called 15 minutes prior to driving to the spot. I entered, the girl greeted me without looking at me and did not have a welcoming vibe in her at all. I got the impression that she didn't want to give a foot massage. I paid her, entered the room, took my shoes off, sat back and waited for ten minutes. She just left me in the room. Another person entered the facility and wanted a full body massage. The girl asked the patron if he called and made an appointment. The guy said, "no". The reception area and foot massage room are separated by a curtain. You can easily hear every conversation. The girl came back to the room i was in with my money and told me her appointment showed up, she couldn't give me a foot massage, no one else was available, and to come back in one hour. I mentioned that I heard the guy say he didn't have an appointment and didn't call. Then I asked her if she was going with the customer for more money because he wanted a full body massage. She smirked and said, "sorry, come back in one hour." I placed my shoes back on my feet, stood up, took my money and walked back to the reception room. Coming here for about 2 months now. 5 stars for cleanliness. 5 stars for the most part from my husband. He has only had one lack luster body massage and the rest have been great. 2 stars from me. I am not quite as happy. I have a sensitive lower back which seems to freak them out. You ask for soft on that area and end up with an entirely useless massage as I seem to end up with an entirely soft massage. Alex is good with foot massage but he's still a little to firm for my taste. I end up sore in some places for a couple of days. I'm just over this place. Time to move on. They are small business owners so doing my part to help them by not just making this whole review 2 stars and messing with their overall rating. Yelp can be an ass with bad reviews. I chose this place because I have had to go to the Bay Area to an Asian therapist who could walk on my back. They did a great job at Vintage. She was relentless with the deep tissue, very strong.
