i recently had the opportunity to check out the dining area. As expected everything was perfection! They served warm bread while you wait for your food and the dishes they served were all delicious! I got their fettuccine chesapeake. Typically, while I love Alfredo based pastas, they always ruin my stomach. This one did not! And the amount of seafood was generous!! The broiled oysters were delicious too with a nice layer of melted cheese! My husband got the angel hair pasta w/ shrimp and it was also so delicious. The flavor of garlic shined through and the angel hair pasta was not overcooked at all!

We just finished a delightful family meal here with a party of seven. We seated promptly on a Saturday evening. Our waitress, Koren, was kind and very attentive. We ordered several different items off the menu and everything was delicious. The lobster ravioli might have been the best I've ever tasted. The Tommy Kay vegetables were also prepared to perfection. The Italian wedding soup left a little to be desired in terms of flavor but I devoured it nonetheless. I can't say much for the ambience beyond the fact that it seemed clean, there was a lot of natural light coming into the restaurant and it was just a perfectly pleasant experience from start to finish.

Hostess was super friendly and Josh was a fantastic and energetic server. The pizza was excellent and a great deal on a Tuesday! Super clean and family friendly sit down restaurant with authentic Italian food.

grandma Sicilian

TLDR: An underrated Baltimore gem serving top-tier pizza and Italian comfort food, with a standout Sicilian Grandma pie. Vinny's Cafe in Dundalk might fly under the Baltimore pizza radar, but it has no business staying there. After hearing from some locals that this spot ranks up there with Baltimore legends like Matthews, Frank's, Squire's, and Pizza John's, I to check it out. I ordered takeout, going with their Sicilian Grandma pie and a vodka chicken parm sub. When I walked in to pick up my order, I noticed the inviting dining room and a fully stocked case of pizzas and desserts, all looking fresh and ready to go. The fact that they serve slices is a major plus and not something you find much anymore in Baltimore. The vodka chicken parm sub was fantastic. The chicken cutlets were nicely breaded, the hoagie roll tasted fresh from the oven, and I loved being able to get the vodka sauce on the side so I could dip instead of wearing half the sandwich. The sauce had great flavor and paired perfectly with the smoked mozzarella and provolone melted over the chicken. As good as the sub was, the Sicilian Grandma pie was the star. Their take on Sicilian is light, airy, and almost focaccia-like, which made for an incredible base. It's not the traditional Long Island Grandma style with the dense, olive-oil-rich crust, but it holds its own. For me, Grandma style pizza showcases the essentials better than anything else. With Vinny's, the dough, cheese, and sauce all shine in perfect balance. It's the litmus test pie, and Vinny's passes the test with ease. Overall, I'm beyond satisfied and pretty sure I've found my new go-to pizza spot in Baltimore. Next time, I plan on dining in for the full experience and grabbing one of their NYC style pies. Vinny's Cafe is the real deal, and more people need to know it.

Stopped by Vinny's for a lunch date. One side is set up like a carry out pizza shop with some tables for dining. Then on the other side it's set up like upscale casual restaurant. We decided to go upscale casual. We were seated promptly and the server went over the menu with us. After careful review I went with the steak special that came with steak, potatoes and veggies. I also ordered some cream of crab soup. Everything was subpar, and nothing really stood out. Not sure I'd return but if I did I would order something else.

Aug. 2025 | Tuesday Takeout Win Snagged Vinny's Tuesday deal on a large cheese pizza--added half bacon & sausage on one side. The toppings side could've been better distributed, but the taste and authenticity more than made up for it. Still a go-to spot that delivers every time.

Vinny's is the best! I was in the Canton area of Baltimore for 5 weeks and I ate here once a week. The service is top notch and the staff are super friendly and attentive. For my last night in Baltimore there was no question where I would be eating! Koren, my awesome server, recommended the Fettuccine Gemma, which consisted of chicken, spinach, tomatoes and corn in a garlic cream sauce. She also recommended substituting the homemade spinach pasta, which was the best advice. The dinner portions are huge, but I managed to almost finish everything. If you're looking for good Italian, go to Vinny's.

Hubby and I passed Vinny's as we were heading to another restaurant in the area and it looked so quaint that I told him I'd really like to come back over and dine there. Fast forward to tonight, we gave it a try. Lisa greeted us at the door and took us to a very nice, quiet table. I appreciated this because I had a crazy day at work and I just wanted to have a few minutes peace with my husband. The restaurant itself is a hometown sort of place that makes you feel like you are in a dining room, but you feel comfortable as you are.....and that tonight was perfect. We told her that it was our first time there and she made some great suggestions for what to have. The menu is hard to even choose from because there is so much that looked and sounded amazing! She talked us into this meatball, ricotta, marinara appetizer. Her description of the meatballs was enough for both of us to be inquisitive. Meatballs are suppose to be light little pillows. They should never be over handled to the point that they turn into billiard balls. These did not disappoint! They smelled amazing and tasted even more amazing! Bread/pizza bread and butter was brought out...all very tasty! Hubby and I both had a drink tonight and for the price, we only got one, but one was all that we needed. It wasn't loaded with ice to the point there was no liquor and it provided that little buzz that I needed personally! :) My husband ordered lobster ravioli and a salad and I ordered veal parmesan. To be honest, I really had a hard time picking anything. When our meals came out, I think we were blown away at the size of them! My hubby was able to finish eating his full pillows of pasta.....me, not so much. Never did I expect the size of veal that I got and the accompanying pasta that was under it. It was absolutely tender within a crunchy topping and had just the right amount of marinara so that it didn't lose the crunch but kept all the flavor. We finished with a coppa pistachio dessert that I was able to eat four bites of. Totally delicious and well worth having. Everything was served at the appropriate temperature. We loved the vibe of the neighborhood coming in to dine. Just a fun little place that I know we will be back to. Lisa was the best server, but all employees we came in contact with were a credit to Vinny's Cafe. Thanks for a great evening.....we can't wait to come back! :)

I ordered the Chicken Leonardo. The chicken cutlet was a little dry but good, and the greens didn't have much dressing. The lobster ravioli was savory and tasty! The pizza bread and the rolls were pretty good. The service was good, although they got one of our orders wrong. They instantly took it back to make it right. It's pretty fancy ambiance wise.

frankie sub

food was delicious! portions are great! The Frankie could have had more rose sauce as some parts felt a bit dry but overall flavor was there! Grandma slice was good, but thick pizza not my style as much. Service was excellent however super friendly and fast service no complaints there. Definitely coming back to try more. Decor is super cute as well

Incredible homemade food, great family run business by an ACTUAL Italian family with roots in Naples. Authentic rustic food. Generous portions. Incredible bar. I've been eating here for years and have never been dissatisfied. They treat you like family.

There was about 8 of us and we were seated downstairs in the bar area at a high top. Despite there being a reservation, it felt like our party was a last minute thought. The table was cramped and the ambiance of the downstairs bar area was dingy and dimly-lit. Our server, who was also the only bartender, did his best to multi task all night, although his demeanor was not very warm or friendly. I ordered the gluten free version of the Samantha fettuccine. Despite this being the only noodle they don't make in house, I had to pay extra for it. Annoying, but not totally unexpected. What was disappointing was the total price for the dish. It came out to be almost $50.... I believe the pasta is marked as market price due to the inclusion of crab meat but when it arrived, there was barely any in the dish. The flavor of the sauce was good but definitely not worth the price tag. I won't be returning anytime soon.

Very attentive and made us feel so special. The entire space was so beautiful. Every area had its special touches of yellow and lemons. We had a ragu dish topped with mushrooms, carbonara, and Kobe beef meatball topped with ricotta and pistachios. For drinks my husband got the Italian guy and I had the limoncello blush. Lastly, they surprised me with desert and a sparkler candle. I was truly impressed. They did say I could have a seat at the bar while I wait but I opted to wait outside. When my friend arrived we were seated promptly. The restaurant itself is super cute and a cozy, intimate atmosphere. It's dimly lit with beautiful little touches throughout, including "ciao" displayed across the ceiling and a really nice sign in the foyer which makes for a great photo op. For the food we decided to share crispy Brussel sprouts and shrimp bruschetta as an appetizer. Then for my main entree I got Pappardelle Genovese which was pappardelle pasta, caramelized onion- braised beef ragú, Gorgonzola cream drizzle, Parmigiano Reggiano and then I got creme brûlée for dessert. For my drink I went with a Shirley temple. The food was super delish. I especially enjoyed the shrimp bruschetta and my pasta dish. They were not stingy with the meat at all. The server added sparklers to our dessert which was a nice touch and wished us a happy birthday. However, because we orders two desserts he informed us that he could only comp one of them as a bday dessert. We weren't expecting either to be comped so that was nice. I think the pricing was decent, two non alcoholic drinks, three appetizers, two entrees and a dessert for $130 (as of 2026). Something worth mentioning is that sending a dish back may not result in the food being comped. My friend had also ordered the polenta al funghi but didn't like the aftertaste. She told the server who said he would get the manager. The manager said the dishes are made to order and the owners don't want food being comped (I'm summarizing). Mind you no one said anything about taking it off the check. It wasn't a big deal but interesting that no resolution was offered . Like she could've suggested to replace with something else. She basically just said she's not taking it off the check and that's it. Didn't ruin the experience for me but worth mentioning in case you're the type to send things back to the kitchen. Overall, good experience and I would return.

It's one of the most beautiful spots in Little Italy, which is saying something. They use a lot of mirrors, which makes the space feel enormous, and based on ambiance alone, it would make a fantastic date spot. I ordered a flight of bruschetta, the meatballs, a tagliere of meats and cheeses, and the Culurgiones, an herb-forward stuffed pasta. The bruschettas tasted good, but they were soggy. It felt like either the bread hadn't been toasted enough or they had sat assembled for too long. Bruschetta should have some crunch and structure; these didn't. The tagliere was fine, but a little boring. More disappointing, the meats had that industrial, processed taste I associate with inexpensive domestic deli meats from the grocery store. Nothing was particularly bad, but nothing on the board made me want another bite, either. The meatballs were okay, and I'd probably order them again, but I've had much better elsewhere in Little Italy. Up to that point, the meal had mostly been a collection of "fine." Where La Tavola really lost me, though, was the Culurgiones. These are supposed to be stuffed with a potato mixture rife with saffron, pennyroyal, and other herbs. What I got tasted like pasta stuffed with mashed potatoes from a box. They were incredibly bland. Every so often I'd catch a hint of mint, but if there was saffron in there, I'd be shocked, especially since the filling remained almost completely pale, and saffron generally isn't shy about announcing itself with some colour. I ate one or two and called it quits. Biting into pasta and getting a mouthful of dry instant-potato flavour just wasn't my vibe. Maybe I ordered wrong, and there may be dishes here that shine. The room certainly does. But based on what I had, this one just didn't hit for me.

Dalesios of Little Italy has been open since 1984 and has been serving great Italian dishes in the heart of Baltimore's Little Italy. Walking inside, the restaurant is tastefully decorated. It screams old world, European charm with it's unique art adorning the walls. I'm seated in the first dining room, closest to the front door. There's a bar inside this room which adds to the Italian decor. First time here, I don't know the restaurants portion sizes. Is it family style where one plate can feed a small army? The portion size was perfect. I ordered a nice glass of Italian wine and the Scampi & Crab Alla Sardegna. The pasta dish was amazing. The pasta was cooked perfect al dente and the Scampi & Crab sauce was something unique to Baltimore. It's Crab & Shrimp simmered in a cognac, garlic & tomato cream sauce. All of this goodness is served over linguine. I love Maryland Crabs and to have them topped in a pasta dish makes my heart sing. I highly recommend this dish.
