Came to Vinnie as a last minute request. Called and the gentleman was so courteous and kind and accommodating . He took me right in for a last minute wedding dress. Even though he couldn't work on the dress, he did refer me to someone who could . Vinnie is awesome. Took about 3 different styles of pants/jeans needed to be tailored. Did them all in the same day on different occasions. He's fast and his work is 10/10. The biggest tailor I had him to was reduce the leg opening and create a tapered cut on the end. He ended up telling me he has to cut the entire leg of the jeans and I said go for it. Wow... this man is rude upon talking to him on the phone. Against my better judgment. I still went to try to get my pants hemmed. Got to the door and I told him I wanted my pants him 2 inches. He then started telling me I had to change into the pants but he did in very rude fashion, and saying things like I was stupid. I changed into the pants and walked out of the room to let them know I was ready and he rudely told me, "where are you going?"Which really startled me. This man is grumpy, amongst other things. I was a bit hesitant after seeing some of the negative reviews on here. All of that being said I needed a suit tailored for a business conference in a pinch and gave Vinnie a call. The man is a master at what he does. Suit needed to be taken in, sleeves shortened a tad, legs hemmed, and the seat taken in on the pants. I had a local tailor for the last few years. He was an older Asian gentleman who did a nice job. I called him recently and found out he moved out of the area. Bummer. I needed to get my tuxedo pants hemmed as well as the sleeves on the coat shortened within a week. After calling all over the place (Dry Cleaners, other tailors, alterations places, tuxedo shops etc.) the average turnaround time seemed to be atleast 10 days. I started to get nervous thinking that I wouldn't be able to have an outfit on time for my graduation. That is, Until I found Vinnie on here. At first i was a bit confused because i saw the home address, thinking maybe the address was wrong, but upon further readings i realized that Vinnie operates through his home. I gave Vinnie a call to set up an appointment and asked how long the turnaround would be for the alterations i needed. He told me it would be done in 3 days! i couldn't believe it. So i went over to his home and he gave me a tour of his garage - where he does the alterations and everything looked so clean and professional! He gave me a warm welcome into his home, and guided me to a room which is designated specifically as a fitting room. After putting on my tuxedo and getting it fitted the way i wanted it to, Vinnie pointed out that the collar of my coat did not fit right for my neck, there was fabric bunching up right below in the back of the collar. Some people might say that this was him just trying to upsell his services, but I didn't feel pressured at all to get it done. I figured that since he is an extremely well experienced tailor, that i'd take his advice and get that fixed. After getting a reasonable price quote for all the services, i gave him my contact info and left- and waited for a phone call back to pick up my tuxedo. I received a phone call THE VERY NEXT EVENING letting me know it was ready to be picked up. I was in total shock! I expected a 3 day turnaround and got all of the alterations (pants hemmed, coat sleeves shortened, collar lowered) on my tuxedo done in 24 HOURS! I came back to try it on, and it fit me perfectly just the way i wanted it to. Vinnie double checked with me to make sure I was satisfied and that everything was done the way I wanted it to. And I could not be any more satisfied with the speed, quality, and price i got everything done for. Once i got home, i looked over my tuxedo very closely to see the work that was done (I am very picky when it comes to getting clothes altered) and i could not even tell that there was work done on it. It looked just like how i got it off the rack! The work was of incredible quality for the price and the extremely short timeframe it was done in. Vinnie totally earned all of the 5 star reviews he's gotten, don't let the low reviews scare you off! He is incredibly kind and warm-hearted. He is definitely an old school Italian man, so don't be scared off by people saying he's rude or pushy- it's just the culture! Overall, Vinnie will now be my first choice for any alterations i have in the future. Give him a call, you will not be disappointed!! I am so glad I came to him. read more

He is the nicest man but I was not happy with his final product. I brought 3 pairs of pants and decided to leave only 2 ( he wanted $20 a leg for the 3rd pair. They were linen pants, he said they were more work) his turn around was quick and again he was super nice. I brought him a pair of jeans and asked him if he could keep original hem and he said "no but I'll make it look good". So I decided to try him. My Jeans don't look bad but it does not look like the original. I should have just gone somewhere that could keep the original hem. (His price was just as much as an original hem price) I can say, they are the right length. The second pair (another linen pair not sure why these were not $20 per leg like my other pair but oh well) are ruined. He marked them with chalk and where the mark was touched the top of my foot. After being hemmed they hover above my foot by about 1". When I called and asked if he could undo the hem and correct these. He said "no and that's where I picked" I feel like he must have cut it where the chalk mark was and not used the chalk mark as the final hem mark. But I'm not a tailor so that's just my guess. Im not sure what happened with my linen pants but they are too short. I don't understand why one pair turned out OK and the other pair did not. I know there are lots of people that say his work is great maybe he's just not familiar with women's pants. He did mention he had never done a pair of skinny jeans before - maybe that should have been my clue. I wish him all the luck and continued business, he's just not for me. read more
