I'm completely obsessed with the Vin Room Mission, and I've been eager to head out to Aspen Woods to try this location.. I love the meat and cheese selections here and have been craving the delicious St. Andre soft cheese, wild candied salmon and elk salami since my last visit to Mission. If you are a charcuterie lover, you simply must try the cured meats & cheeses here... They are DELICIOUS! I noticed that they recently added confit duck cassoulet to the menu and was immediately sold. The duck arrived perfectly cooked inside and crispy on the outside. The white bean cassoulet was melt in your mouth delicious and the perfect accompaniment to the duck. This excellent dish reminded me of a meal I had at a bistro in France.. My friend and I also shared the flatiron steak and the lamb chops with feta & spinach, which were both very, very good. For dessert, we shared the sumptious St. Andre cheesecake and the spiced pumpkin bread pudding. The perfect end to a great meal.. I was quite impressed by Vin Room West and will recommend it to friends & family. I am partial to the Mission location but I am glad to have had the opportunity to visit and will most definitely return! Solid 4-stars!

Love this location. Was a bit leary because I love the ambiance of their first location on 4th street. Modern interior/decor and first rate staff. Have visited mostly for lunch and once for dinner. Lunch menu is vast and service has always been amazing. Dinner menu I prefer as you get a larger selection of tapas. Service however slipped a bit. Service forgot to put in 2 menu items. Food is very good. Creativity and flavor are features at Vin. Wine selection is fantastic. So many by the glass, that revolve quite frequently.

Huge Wine Wall !

Was not expecting this in a remote strip mall on the outskirts of the city.

Good menu with something for everyone. Burgers, sandwiches, pizza, salads and more. Preparation is…read moregood but not outstanding. Burgers have excellent meat but could use some condiments like mayo, ketchup etc because they can be a bit dry. Staff are happy to provide your choice of burger topping. Comfy roadhouse style seating and outdoor patio. Drinks are good and the beer selection is a cut above average. Nice neighbourhood spot for drinks or family dining. Lots of parking.

I ordered the Spot On Burger which is an AAA Certified Alberta Angus Beef and includes lettuce, tomato, onion and spicy mayo for a cost of $17.99. The burger was a hand-crafted beef patty that was juicy and delicious. The bun was fresh as well as the toppings. I would give this burger a 9/10 and look forward to the next time I have it, as I want to dine it for the next burger experience. I highly recommend this burger at Spot On. Second visit in September I had previous placed only orders for pickup from Spot On, however this time I dined in for lunch in early September. I ordered the California Dream Salad with chicken. The cost was $18.98, and was okay, nothing to write home about. This is the second time I have had a salad at Spot On, however I cannot recommend any of the salads, the other items I had here were good, don't come here for salads. Third visit in September I placed an order for pickup from Spot On in early September. I ordered the Chuck Wagon Chicken Sandwich which is a BBQ marinated chicken, cheddar cheese, maple peppered bacon, fried crispy onion strings, spicy mayo, lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun for a cost of $18.99. The chicken sandwich was hefty in size and equally delicious. I highly recommend Chuck Wagon Chicken Sandwich at Spot On.

This past Saturday night, a group of us visited Free House after a busy day with family, in-laws,…read moreand friends (none of us are fussy eaters and every one of us enjoys exploring new and unique restaurants). The experience was incredibly disappointing owing to a bewildering change in the menu. Gone from the menu are the delicious flatbreads, most sandwiches and other pub fare that they did so well. Also gone are the traditional side dishes that you would expect to find any pub restaurant. Quite disappointingly, we were shocked to find that a new "sharables" menu, which was disjointed, massively overpriced, and by some measure insulting (i.e. see the $11 dollar Pringles and onion dip appetizer, which is an unopened small can of pringles and a bowl of uninspiring dip that tastes about the same as the store bought plastic containers). The only recognizable menu items were the hamburger and a Ruben ($18 dollars each) that come with no sides or garnish and, as I've noted you can't even order fries or anything reasonable on the side. Literally a hamburger on a side plate. There are some more eclectic menu items that might be appropriate if you went to (and were in the mood for) a modern fusion tapas restaurant, but if you're in the mood for a relaxed pub atmosphere, most of these will miss the mark. The food itself is okay at best, but certainly not worth the exorbitant prices. It seems to me that management decided to go this sharables route to increase revenue (higher prices) and decrease costs (because there is fractionally less on your plate). The problem with this new income model is that I will never (ever) go to Free Houseagain with this clown-car of a menu, so any early increase in revenue will be short lived as I don't expect there would be many return customers. From what I can discern, management seems to be targeting $50 or $60 per customer for a meal and a drink, so expect to pay about that much or more if you are looking to walk away relatively satiated. We chose Free Housefor a relaxed dinner with family after an important and busy day. The menu is absurd and none of us plan on returning. Overall, I do not recommend Free Housewith the menu in its current state - it is RIDICULOUS. When I am in the mood for spending this kind of money on this kind of food I will go to a restaurant where they know how to do it and do it better. A can of pringles? Really? Talk about mailing it in.
