Unfortunately, I can not in good conscience recommend this tax agent…read more I visited Laura Bushley tax office at the beginning of December 2022 and talked with her and her assistant about hiring her to work on my taxes and act as a tax consultant. She seemed nice, but during the first interaction something seemed a little off. Call it a bad vibe, or gut feeling, something just didn't seem right. The person with me felt the same kind of "vibe". I told Laura what I was looking for, asked her what kind of documents I needed to provide, and asked what kind of timeline I might be looking at. I knew I was going to need time to go through a lot of documents in advance, scan them and provide them to Laura for taxes and others. She told me she was looking forward to working with me and would get back to me before the end of 2022 to set up a meeting. In January 2023, I made a follow-up call and was told by one of her office assistants that she would call me back. I never heard back from anyone. At the beginning of February, I began to become concerned and called her twice and was told she or her assistant would call me back. Once again, no one called. The last week of February, I visited her office in person since I was in the building. I told the office assistant Laura Bushley had said she would return my call back in December, and I had contacted her office three or four times since. The assistant took a condescending tone and said, "She will call you back, when she's ready to call you back". No one at the Laura Bushley tax office ever followed up, called me back or directly offered an explanation. I ultimately had to rush last minute to find another tax consultant to work with. It's important to me, that whoever I work with not only know how to do math and fill out tax forms, but that they also are committed to and understand the importance of customer service etiquette. I understand that "Life happens", but any kind of follow-up from her office would have been appropriate. Ultimately, I am thankful it didn't work out.

This place is a complete disaster…read more They prepared and filed my 2023 taxes, and I NEVER received my refund. Now, because of how they handled my return, I'm dealing with the Franchise Tax Board saying I owe money. So not only did I not get my refund, I'm now stuck cleaning up a mess they created. When I asked for basic documentation like a copy of MY OWN tax return they refused to give it to me. There is no excuse for that. You file taxes under someone's name but won't provide them a copy? That alone should tell you everything. They also claimed they had proof of where my refund was sent, but what they provided wasn't even mine they were mixing my information up with my mother's. That is a serious and careless error when you're handling people's financial records. And instead of fixing it, Rose, who calls herself the "president," was incredibly rude and dismissive. She told me she would "no longer entertain" my messages, said to "do as I want," and told me not to contact their office again all because I asked for answers about my own taxes. Then she had the nerve to tell me to go deal with the FTB myself or hire another accountant basically telling me to spend more money to fix THEIR mistake. This is not just bad service it's irresponsible. Mixing up client information, refusing to provide records, and shutting down communication when questioned is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Unprofessional treatment and horrible services which includes refusing to answer my phone calls, emails, and in-person contact. Background: I paid for my 2023 Tax Return and Jack electronically filed my 2023 Tax Return on March 15, 2024. As of October 4, 2024, I have not received my refund. Eventually after many failed attempts to reach Jack, including visiting his office, and calling his office multiple times, when he answered the phone he did not tell me the reason as to what the issue is. Only that since this electronic file "failed", Jack would "mail" the tax return. On July 8, 2024, Jack told me he "mailed it" but refused to provide any tracking number. However, as of October 4, 2024, the IRS has no record of any sort of "mailed tax return". As of today, any attempt to contact Jack or his office fails. I have filed my taxes for years and have never had any issues before. This is a horrible experience and I urge you to reconsider Jack and H & A Tax Services for your tax filing purposes. I now have to pay out of pocket a second time for a more competent tax specialist to re-file my 2023 taxes and deal with penalties for the failed filing by Jack. Jack has refused to refund me for this inconvenience.
