Like other reviewers, I was a customer when Ash was here at "Speedy Tax" (no longer their name) and ripping people off a few years back. But James and Jade have been back since he left and do a wonderful job! James has done my taxes and is really good and honest. The past three years Jade has done my taxes and she's just the best! I like that every year she remembers my boyfriend and me and makes conversation. Taxes are done quick and the prices are very very good! The owner of this establishment "Ash" obviously has no clue what he is doing. Too bad I learned that the hard way. I have used his service two years in a row and unfortunately it takes the IRS some time to catch up on their tax reviews. In the past year I have learned that both of the tax years completed by Speedy Tax have had major errors. One of them cost me an audit and over $10,000 and $2,500 on the other. I also had family members go to this unethical establishment to have their taxes prepared and again major errors. It is obvious to me now that because of the overcharging for the preparation of their tax returns, they purposely make the return give you a nice refund that you will be happy with. They really don't care that a year or two later you will pay double/triple for those errors and they will not stand up for you and will deny it was anything they did. I was even told by the owner, Ash, the most ludicrous thing you could imagine regarding errors on my son's return..... "I put the figures in the computer correctly but they printed out differently". Seriously??? I am still paying dearly for the stupidity of this man and his company. I feel very badly that I referred family and friends to this unethical place and felt that it was only right that I let as many people out there know what is to be expected if they let them prepare their taxes. He just opened this company in West Covina about 2 years ago so you probably won't see much about them yet however he did have another tax preparation company in the past under a different name........I wonder why, right? Don't make the same mistake I did. Unless you want the IRS knocking on your door and taking a piece of your paycheck..........STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, IT IS REALLY BAD NEWS!!!!! read more

I have used Ash's services for the past the years. Each year he has charged me about $250 to complete a 1099 tax form and he has always gotten me a sizeable return that he always claimed was honest. However, this year he was caught in a lie. Never had I once asked Ash to fabricate numbers to favor a larger return, but it turns out that's what he does. In order to make his customers feel like they're not getting ripped off by his ridiculous prices he will lie to the IRS to get you a better return. In 2012 I had paid $1433 to the IRS to avoid having to pay heavy taxes at the year's end. Without my consent Ash falsely reported that I had paid $2600 which resulted in a $1400 return. As usual I was satisfied with what I thought was an honest return. A couple weeks later I received a letter from the IRS stating that there was a mistake on my return regarding the amount I had paid to them throughout the year. After the IRS correctly adjusted my return I received $258 of which $250 was paid to Ash. This concerned me because I do not want to be put on any sort of IRS watch list. When I voiced my concern and displeasure to Ash he swore to me that he did not make that mistake even though he had given me a copy of the form he submitted which had the mistake. Instead of owning up to his error and simply apologizing he told me that the printer must have printed out something different from what he had typed. How stupid does this man think his customers are?! To avoid being ripped off and faced with a likely audit I would recommend going to someone else instead of this crook! You could easily find a better quality service for a much cheaper price! read more
