Best bar in Leesport. Great service, great people, and great vibes. Every millennial within a 200 mile radius should come here.

If Gary's Bar was in DC, it would be my favorite bar. We were in the area to see Iron Maiden and…read moreevery other bar around Hershey closes at midnight so off to Palmyra we went. The exterior of Gary's is unassuming to say the least and as we drove up, my friend in the back seat involuntarily muttered "What are we doing." However we started to feel the magic pretty quickly once we settled in at the bar. There was great local beer and cider on tap at Palmyra prices and a solid jukebox. "Dallas sucks" was stenciled/stickered onto the mirror behind the bar, which are words that a lifelong Giants fan can get behind.

Growing up in town back when it was dry, Gary's Bar was known as the only bar in town. I never…read moreheard anything positive or negative either way, mostly because we were all too young to go in. On a recent visit home, a friend suggested we make a night of going and boy did we have a fun time! Gary's Bar at the same time feels old and unchanged, but modern and welcoming. The only issue some might have, is they allow smoking. We didn't really care: they have a great draft beer menu of almost all local stuff from the area, plus all the national macro brands. Prices are super cheap for how fresh everything is; glassware is also clean. They have a ton of special items too, like drinks, jello shots, etc. Along the back left wall is a bunch of packaged beer for to-go service. On the night we went, there was a genuinely great local band playing. Some people danced. They have a pool table too, which saw constant action. The bartenders were also super welcoming and attentive, despite being busy. If you're a fan of neighborhood dive bars that are secret great, this is worth checking out.

A quality neighborhood bar. Saturday at 2 PM and the place is packed with some people not having…read moreseats. Seemed like an early rush for a bar. I don't know of a game going on today. The bartender at the time was particularly very friendly and I could tell he gave off the same vibe to everyone. As I left this bar with a friend, one of the (assumedly) local patrons was telling us we should've purposely nudged a guy seated so that we could more easily leave the bar instead of slowly crossing over. That particular patron looked back at the first guy very annoyed. The first guy was probably already at least semi-drunk and just kept trying to go on with his "joke". Another thing that surprises me is that this bar is closed all day Sunday and that they open at 8 AM according to the Yelp page and stay open until 2 AM. Those are mad hours This coming Sunday, there was a big game with Eagles versus the 49ers. I've never heard of a bar open so early in the morning and not open on Sundays. Not open on Sunday because a lot of regular church-goers in the area, or the staff need a break and maybe they would want to go to church? Reminds me of Chik-Fil-A without the super late hours and instead of family friendly style food and drink and chicken icon, booze instead. There were no smokers when me and my friend were there. I was thankful for that. It looks like PA started to ban smoking in all bars in 2021. Personally, don't miss it! I already have a hard enough time breathing and sleeping without being around that stuff! No food at this establishment. Quality drinks on tap and reasonable prices. Nice staff. From a neighborhood bar, can you ask for anything more?

This first time I came to West Chester I was hitting the wrong bars. But the best bar in town is Jakes Bar! open 8am to 2am. great bar for the folks that work the night shift! My favorite part about Jakes Bar is that Dwayne and Derek remembered my choice of drink and shot. I walk in they greet me and before I can pull a $5 out there's a beer and shot on the table in front of me. BOOM! Thank you to all the staff at Jake's Bar!
