Nothing bad to say about this place. A convenient laundromat for getting your laundry done. I came in here with about 20 pounds worth of laundry and opted for the 79 cents/lb wash and fold service. I dropped off the load around 9am and it was done by noon. My girlfriend came by and picked it up later and clothes were folded neatly, smelled pleasant and no troubles were had. I did have to haggle a little to get a few pounds taken off, since they weighed my clothes in a huge basket that I brought it in (which weighs at least a few pounds). After I mentioned something though, she quickly took off a few pounds from my cost. Despite other reviews here, the place seemed clean to me. Maybe they recently changed, but I didn't get a seedy impression from walking in here. Haven't had a chance to use the machines, so I can't comment on that, but the wash and fold service was prompt, professional and convenient: recommended. read more

I used the live across the street in an apartment close by here and would always bring my laundry here. The woman who owns the laundromat is very friendly, and will remember you if you visit often. They also offer a laundry service pay & fold, where it's a certain price per bag or lb of laundry. There is a little sitting area with a tv, and it is a very welcoming large place. Perfect location to throw in your laundry and go across the street to 7/11 for a drink/snack. They are open 8am-11pm all week. The only downfall is it's sometimes hard to find parking nearby, but that's the same as anywhere in the busy area of the elmwood village. They do have a small parking lot behind with a couple open spots, but these spots are often already taken. read more

I spent extra money to wash my laundry on hot water; I had one load set on "warm" and another load set on "hot". When I checked the load set on "hot," I noticed the temperature was colder than the load set on "warm." How misleading! What a major rip off! read more

4 stars because I didn't need help so I didn't interact with the staff person who was there (but there was, in fact, a staff person there. though it took me a while to figure out she was the staff person because she was also doing laundry; I only realized it once she started cleaning), nor did I use the bathroom, which seem to be the two biggest complaints. I had to wash my giant, heavy winter blanket and this is walking distance from my house so it won based solely on that. But the large fans kept the place cool on one of the hottest days of summer, free wifi always helps so I could be productive while being productive, and the TV wasn't too loud. I don't usually use a laundromat so I can't really speak to prices but my wash, (powder) laundry detergent, and dry was a total of $5 and took ~an hour! read more

do NOT support this laundromat to do your wash and fold. i have had issues multiple times and have expressed as such, but i was desperate one last time and left easy instructions for them to do it correctly. All of my clothes have shrunk and this is the third time this has happened. and don't get me started on how they burnt a fleece blanket of mine. hate this business and they have ruined all of mt clothes. how am i supposed to afford a brand new wardrobe? i hate this place. read more

The laundromat is very clean and has plenty of washers and dryers. If you have a question, the staff will help you figure things out. I thought the prices were reasonable, it's $2.50 for a regular wash, $5.00 for the massive machine. The dryers are $0.25 for five minutes, but they are more powerful than home dryers. I did 15 minutes for my clothes and I think I could have done 10. Obviously the staff are not customer service superstars; it's a laundry place, but they gave me the information I needed and weren't rude about it. read more

It's a laundromat. But it's not very good. Weird rude people working at all times of the day including but not limited to: Man swearing about his girlfriend on phone while drying customers clothes. Girl telling my girlfriend and I that she has to catch the 11 something bus when we walked in at 8:30. Different girl squatting in the doorway pounding cigarettes and telling us that it's only open until 11 for people who are picking up clothes. It was 9:55 when we walked up to her and we had to emergency dry clothes because our dryer broke. M The bathroom has been in and out of commission for weeks. In reality the lightbulb needed changing but no one could have been bothered to change it. That seems to be fixed but there's still an out of order sign on the bathroom last time I checked. The employees still use it though. Hmm. The machines don't run on human earth time either. 23 minutes for a wash cycle in Village Laundry time is actually 35 minutes in everywhere else on earth time. This is not a good place. The owner doesn't care about his customers because he owns a high traffic business in buffalo's busiest neighborhood and people will use his business no matter what. So just only go here in case of an emergency. Don't support this business. read more

I'm new in town, so I needed a new laundromat. After reading the more negative reviews for Village Laundry, I was hesitant to give this place a try. But because it's the most convenient for me to get to, I had to give it a go at least once. When you've been using machines for over 20 years, the time allotted is always going to be too short for your quarter. 'Nough said. However, this is the second place in Buffalo proper I've tried, which means that I'm not in a position to compare rates. So I walked into Village Laundry, and I was greeted by the shopkeeper, Connie, with positivity. The floors, chairs, and tables were clean. There was an ATM, and it worked for me fine. The two washing machines I used gave me no problems. I felt comfortable putting my laundry in the rolling baskets after they'd been washed and then dried (Copyeditors, you know what I'm talking about.). Oh! And Connie was happy to point me in the right direction for the best dryers - all of which are new and in the back. No, I didn't ask "how new". But should a new dryer cause me problems on a really bad day, I guess I might throw 'em a little sass (But I'd have to be super p*ssed off to be that mean.). My only complaint is that the tabled seating isn't bolted down, which can be a gamble for some of us in the plus-sized community. But in Village Laundry's defense, there is a bit of chair-only seating, and it's near the window for easy people-watching if you ever forget your mobile device to access Village Laundry's free WiFi. read more

Despite the negative reviews I called today to see how much they charge for wash and fold clothes. The woman who answered had no idea and instead of saying I'm not sure let me check she avoided the topic by saying just bring it in and we can do it. Then I repeated my question "but how much is it per pound" she again said it's an easy service and we can do it. If you work for a laundromat that does wash and fold for clothes or anything else you should know the cost. I will not go there now simply because of that. The workers here are not always the friendliest, but that's not why I go there. I've done the wash n fold a few times and have never had any problems. Clothes are kept in good condition, and the turn around is usually pretty fast - even if I come with four giant baskets of laundry. read more

This place looks semi nice, but the staff their is terrible. I went there at 9:15 when they close at 11pm. The lady worker there was very rude, she gave me a snotty remark about how I couldn't wash my clothes because I would have to fold them. Well, its a laundromat. If it had like la-z-boys and big screens, I'd give it a five, but there are no bells and whistles. Its a little expensive, but this is New York state, so I guess its about what you'd expect. (Spoiled Texas, by way of Chicago, transplant here.) The staff has always been pretty chill. One day I thought a washer was broken because it wouldn't accept my change. Turned out I'd accidentally been trying to insert a looney. Worst laundromat I've ever been to. They lost $300.00 worth of my garments. When I spoke to the owner about the problem he said, "that's too fucking bad. I'm not paying you for your clothes. Now get out of my store before I call the cops." If you like being treated this way then you'll love the village laundry. read more

The machines at this place are awful. I've been a few times and the last time I went, my clothes were stuck in the wash cycle for two hours! When I noticed it was taking longer than the clock indicated on the washer, I told the young woman who works there. She told me basically that I was being impatient and if I stopped looking at the numbers, it would go by faster. She really didn't understand and it took an hour and a half for her to reach out for help. Eventually she got a hold of an older woman who works there, who lifted the control panel and shut off the washer. Then I had to take out the sopping wet and soapy laundry myself and put it in another washer to go through another cycle. I was frustrated with the whole situation, and the only answer they gave me was that the washers always break and the guy who owns the place never gets anything repaired. I asked them if they could put a sign on the washer I used to let others know that it didn't work and the young woman said that she couldn't because the owner would get mad and take it off. This is a horrible business and the people who hang out here are a little strange. read more

I always come to this laundry place to do my laundry and never needed the staff help so never had a problem. I recently came at night around 8 to start my laundry and left to grad food while my clothes dried. I came back around 10:30 to get my clothes out the dryer and the doors were locked. We stand there and we're knocking on the door. A lady that was in there made it aware to the staff that we were trying to get in . The staff member looked at us and proceeded to finish doing what she was doing. We stood there for about 10 minutes constantly knocking before she opened the door for us then had the audacity to say our clothes just stopped. I never leave bad reviews because I understand what it is like to work in customer service. I am truly disappointed in the fact that an interaction like that took place and hope that no one has to experience that in the future with this business. Being afraid that they wont be able to get there clothes washed and taken away because they work late and this is the only time they can wash there clothes. Horrible service! I went there 2 years no problem. They lost my laundry for about 4 days. (36 LBS) I called everyday and the laundry was given to a wrong person. Then 2 weeks later they made my white top peach and bleach mark on my shirt. I Asked for reimbursement and they gave me a credit for $15. The manager Diana is horrible and unbelievable. . The worst experience I've ever had at a Buffalo business. Horrible, rude customer service. The man working at the time threatened me with violence. The people who work here can only be described as trash that won't burn. I dropped off my roommate's laundry for wash and fold service. THREE DAYS LATER I went to pick up the clothes and they were still in the laundry bag unwashed. So I offered to back later, but was told by the man working there that the clothes would not be ready until the next day. UNACCEPTABLE! It was only 4 p.m. and this business is open until 11 p.m. and that's plenty of time to wash clothes. After insisting the clothes be washed immediately (after waiting an astonishing three days), the man threatened to punch me in the face, started screaming and told me to leave with my laundry. I'm disgusted that a business like this is able to survive in the Elmwood Village. AVOID THIS BUSINESS! After investigating, I'm not surprised to see so many bad reviews of this business. read more

Do not drop your laundry off here. I dropped my laundry off and had multiple problems when I went to pick it up. They lost my laundry hamper and some of my clothes. When I told them they were confused how it could be lost. They kept telling me it must be there. After pulling out all my clothes they finally realize that maybe it was missing. After waiting there for 30 minutes the owner is finally called. He said he would call me back after he figured out what is going on. It has already almost been a week. I called back today and they had no idea what I was talking about. The employee said that the owner would probably not call me back and definetly not reimburse me. This place is notorious for this. Nobody should go here at all. If they decide to pay me back for my items that are missing and the owner shows that he has respect for people that use their services. I will post again saying it has been resolved. Until then this place is a must not!!!! read more
