Avoid this builder at all costs. They seem to target first-time buyers, especially those moving from out of state, rushing you to close quickly only for you to struggle afterward. All three of my neighbors, including myself, have had terrible experiences after buying homes in this community. I purchased a new build hoping for peace of mind, at least for the first year. By no means are we finished with Village Homes, but our experiences so far with Steven Davis have been great. I fell in love with a new community in Fort Worth called Riverhills. They are one of the approved builders for this community. I had previously spoken to one of the other realtors there named Madison when we began our home search. He dealt more with pre-planned homes or things that we wouldn't have much control over while being built. Steven deals more with the complete customization side of Village Homes. So far we have only begun the process of meeting with architects and hammering out the details on our dream home, but it's been a smooth transition. I'm sure that there will be hiccups and set backs once the building process starts, but that is to be expected. I am very pleased with Steven and am looking forward to the next year of this build. read more

We have had a poor experience with this builder while building in Walsh Ranch Community in Fort Worth. The sales person, Margo, was very professional and easy to work with. She did warn us to make sure we checked over the house thoroughly on our pre-closing walk through as many things would not be covered after closing, if not reported before. We did report things to the best of our ability. On the first pre closing walk through our builder was there and we discussed a couple of issues that he wrote down and told us he would take care of. To this day, 4 months later, they are not fixed. Pro Home, first year warranty also does not cover these issues, front fence has gaps and the front wall is missing PVC piping in one of the drainage holes. The first day we moved in we had both toilets stopped up, draining in the front flower bed. We had to contact the plumber and had to become very assertive in order to get them to come the same day. They use a low quality exterior paint, that in appearance is thin and more like a primer coat. When you pay so much for a home it is disheartening to know that within a year or two you will most likely need to paint the entire outside. Our living room ceiling fan makes a clicking noise and when the electricians came out to fix it, they told us it would need to be replaced. They apparently told the Warranty company the fan was working fine and they did not need to do anything to it (according to Pro Home). Now we are still stuck with a clicking fan that we cannot use as this issue is in some process of being discussed. This process also started about 3 months ago. We ordered blinds for our home which they ordered and hung for us. Half of them are slightly bowed and do not close all the way, letting in light. These problems were not noticed on the walk through. These are considered to be "in compliance with the provisions of the Builders Limited Warranty and does not qualify for warranty service work." per the Pro Home Warranty. So we have blinds that bow and don't shut and that is not their fault. We are stuck with bad blinds now and Village wont do anything about it. This may not be a big deal to Village Homes but it is a big deal to us. This next issue is a small thing and therefore why it is so ridiculous. There is one hardie plank that has a defective area that has been painted over. We did not notice this on the walk through. We asked for it to be replaced with a new board and Village refused to fix this because we did not see it on the walk through! Good grief! Of course we did not see it. It was painted over and this means it was there prior to closing and needs to be fixed because it is a brand new home and the board should be new and not defective! We have built in the past and have never been treated in this way. It is really sad and aggravating to be treated in such a disrespectful way, Cant afford a lawyer or therapy so at least I can get my feelings out here. Let me explain one more thing. The way the pro home warranty works is that if the Warranty does not cover something, Village Homes can step up and cover the problem anyway out of what they deem is their good will and that is entirely their call. For example when I noticed that their were scratches and deep cuts into the surface of my second bathroom tub (finally cleaned it good after my son left for college). Village decided they would do the right thing and repair all the damages and sent out a tub re-surfacing person. So, the moral of this story is....... Spend the day, maybe a couple of days at your final walk through and get that Pro Home Warranty Book prior to purchasing so your know what your getting yourself into. ....... read more

Our build with Village Homes in Parks of Aledo was terrible full of mistakes, excuses and lies. DO NOT USE THEM! They told us they couldn't do things that they did for our neighbor, they charged us for things they did not charge our neighbors, they lied about ... almost everything. They messed up our house. There's pending litigation against them right now by one of our neighbors. If you want to build in Parks of Aledo, use Clarity or American Life or Drees. DO NOT USE VILLAGE! Oh, and Village is the developer - and our HOA fees are increasing by several hundred dollars per year.
