We went for breakfast this morning after a necessary early trip down in the area. The food was excellent. I admire the consistency of this diner in regard to the food. As usual the staff was super pleasant. Our server, Samantha, was so wonderful. She was very attentive and extremely pleasant. I got the Warrior breakfast platter with French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. It was great. My daughter got the baklava pancakes. They were huge and fluffy. Amazing flavor. I'm sorry, about no pictures but it was enough to drag my butt out early on a Saturday. Great place. Easy lot to get in and out of. Get there at night if you like Greek food. read more

Food was burnt. Waited over an hour. Not friendly or courteous. The booths were very old, outdated, and I literally sat in a hole, probably from wear and tear from many years of not being taken care of. I passed by this place everyday for 6 days after my original visit and there were no cars in the parking lot, however, this place is listed as the number one diner to visit when in the Milford area. It's a N-O for me. And I paid $18 for potatoes, 2 eggs over medium, and corned beef from a can (which I love). They need a lot of help to get them up to speed! read more

A tad overpriced, but the location is easy on and off of the interstate, overall not too bad, and significantly better than a diner we ate at while visiting the area in Milford. While visiting family I stopped in at the Village Diner - the food and service did not disappoint. I had The Dirty Jersey Omelette which was chock full of fried Taylor Pork Roll- just what I was looking for having grown up eating this delicious cross between Bologna, Bacon and Ham. If you are from the tri-state area - you know. The menu is huge and there are so many things I am going to try on future visits but the Agi's Surf & Turf Burger top that list. I hope everyone back east appreciates and supports the local diners in their towns and neighborhoods - they are few and far between out west and most lack the character and selections that places like the Village Diner serve up daily. read more

This is my new favorite diner! I am sorry that I did not take any pictures, but I plan on going back soon and will be sure to add some to this review. The diner is relatively small but very clean. When you step in there is a sense that you stepped back in time to the 50's. The ambience and music makes you feel like you are on a movie set. The menu is breakfast heavy..but there is something for everyone and the portions are huge. They use top quality meats for all of their dishes and have a multiple assortment of specialty pies for dessert. The service was excellent too. I love food and good service and this place had an overflow of both. If you are anywhere near this diner I highly recommend stopping by. The prices are very reasonable and if you are a coffee buff..their coffee is excellent too. read more

Village diner is offering pickup and limited indoor seating during the pandemic. We dropped in for breakfast on our way back to NYC from Narrowsburg. Customers were very well distanced, and we basically had the whole back of the restaurant to ourselves. This is a super classic roadside trailer/diner. Past the freeway there is a beautiful view of the hilly trees. The interior is old school, along with their tables and booth seating (the seating could use a little rehab). Firstly - GREAT coffee. Their menu is a little more updated than the typical diner with things like baklava pancakes and redneck Benedict. I got the jersey skillet that came with Taylor ham, hash browns, cheddar cheese and two fried eggs. We also tried the redneck Benedict (very good) and a the Belgian waffle (not so Belgian, but still tasty). This is definitely a great little spot to stop into when you're looking for a diner with and upgrade. read more

Best breakfast from a restaurant in years. My spouse and I stopped at the Village Diner for breakfast. Diners always intrigue me and the nostalgia of a 1956 diner always brings a smile to my face. I ordered Sausage gravy of biscuits with two eggs and my spouse had a bacon and green pepper omelet. Both meals came with potatoes that just melted in our mouths. The food was AMAZING. Greg, the cook, KNOWS how to cook breakfast. The sausage gravy was savory with just the right amount of heat and the scrambled eggs had just the right amount of butter in them. The omelette was perfectly prepared and it was a great way to start the day. I will ALWAYS go back to the Village Diner for a meal. I can't wait to see what they do for lunch and/or dinner. I so enjoyed this diner! I ate breakfast here on the way up to Vermont and then again on the way back. The eggs and bacon were the best I've ever eaten, and the waitresses were attentive and helpful. (I especially enjoyed my chats with Chrissy--I hope I'm getting her name right!) The restaurant was clean, the music was oldies instead of the modern pop or hip-hop that so many restaurants blare, and the decorations complemented the 50's diner architecture. I'm sad to share this review, but frustrated enough to do it. This morning my family went to breakfast. We arrived at 9:05. We had a pretty easy order, two egg and cheese sandwiches, one bowl of oatmeal, and one egg white veggie omelet. After 35 minutes, the two sandwiches and oatmeal came out. The omelet brought out was not what was ordered. The waitress kindly offered to have the correct breakfast made. My entire family finished their breakfast while I waited. 15 minutes later, the waitress came over to say they were just getting ready to re-make my omelet. During that time, we watched everyone who came in after us getting their food. Needless to say, I cancelled the omelet as there was no way my kids were going to sit any longer and wait at least another 10-15 minutes for me to get my food. The reason I'm writing this review is to share that after this colossal failure, we were still given a bill. Not even an offer to buy the coffee I sat there drinking waiting for my food. I'm not saying the food should be free, but as a business woman myself, a kind gesture goes a long way with disgruntled customers. We've eaten there before and it was okay. Sadly, after today, we won't be back. read more

It looks like a Classic, Old-fashioned Diner and IT IS! It even has oldies music playing while you eat! Built in 1956! The bacon cheeseburger was fantastic with crispy bacon, American cheese, lettuce & tomato. Lots of French fries too! Burger is a freshly made pattie, not frozen. Let's start with prices. Breakfast on a Sunday for family of 4 was $74. We added blueberries to one set of pancakes but they made both sets blueberry and then up-charged for it. Surcharge of $2.99 for syrup listed at top of menu. Should have walked out then. But a small chocolate milk was $4.99. What in the world. Now the food. It was bland and luke warm. Possibly the worst hashbrowns I've ever had. Absolutely nothing we ordered tasted even like an average diner. Finally, the physical space. It was so uncomfortable. The tile floors were all broken or chipped. The seat in our booth had a broken cushion with wood exposed and stuffing out. You legit sunk in with wood pressing on your back. Booth next to us was pretty bad too. Overall, this might have been the worst diner and breakfast experience we've ever had. 2018 just started and is already kicking my ass, therefore I was in serious need for some comfort food on my ride home from PA. The Village Diner, housed inside an authentic metallic 1950s diner, seemed like a great place to grab a bite to eat. It was, and little did I know I would find my favorite version of Eggs Benedict here! The Redneck Benedict is simply fantastic here - two perfectly prepared poached eggs, sit atop a sausage patty and buttermilk biscuit, while smothered in creamed chipped beef (or was it sausage - I don't recall exactly). The biscuit was flaky and buttery, the creamed sauce had a nice peppery bite and I like the contrast of the creamy sauce with the gooey yolk. My usual complaint with typical Benedicts is too much egg on egg action with the poached egg and Hollandaise sauce being nearly the same, but here the different sauce with the poached eggs just WORKS! Omelets here are large, delicious and generous. The potatoes with the breakfast dishes browned crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Tasty cup of coffee as well. Came in on a Monday late morning in winter so it was mainly filled with what seemed to be regulars with the waitstaff making friendly conversation with them. Service was good and provided everything we needed. A great ol' fashioned diner well worth the visit! read more

The food is still good but the service is terrible and getting worse every day. I have been a server and the one thing you realize very quickly is that the people sitting at your table are the people who can either improve your take home pay or leave you taking home minimum wage. It takes only a minute to stop by a table and ask if more coffee is needed or let your customers know that their food is on the way - and never should a customer have to remind a server that they still need the sides that come with the order! For the diner breakfast experience i would recommend taking the exit and coming down to magical land where NJ/NY/PA meet to grab a bite here at the village diner if you are looking for an A+ diner breakfast. They helped me make sure i had the best local contacts to get fixed up and back on the road. First of all, if I were reviewing for service alone, I'd give at least two more stars. But the food was just not very good, so that brings the score down. I ordered the spinach pie. I mean, how hard can it be? I often go to Trader Joe's, buy the frozen spanakopita, stick it in the oven, and it comes out crisp and delicious; the Village Diner's version was soggy and tasteless. At least it was served on top of a decent Greek salad. But then I ordered the peach and berry pie for dessert, and it was so gloppy and mushy that it was downright off-putting. The young man at the cash register apologized that all the booths were full, but we could sit at a table or the counter. Within 30 of sitting down, a server asked if we had been helped yet. She wiped down or table and went to find our server, who came over immediately. She took our drink order and came right back with it. I generally love old diners, but messing up an omelet?? Drove past this place doing some errands, lots of cars there so stopped on way back for a late lunch. While I looked at menu staff was at counter talking about all the things they were out of, long list. I noticed refrigerated case, which might hold desserts, was empty. Ordered water, decaf coffee, egg white veggie omelet, asked if they could sprinkle a little cheddar on top and rye toast, no potatoes. Omelet was smallest I've ever been served, maybe 2 egg whites, came covered in cheese and sitting in a pool of what I'm pretty sure was American cheese. Veggies were all different sizes and pretty tasteless. One slice of toast was the heel. Omelet was undercooked and greasy, but I'd skipped breakfast so was eating some. Picked up my book to read for a minute and my plate was swooped away with food still on it. Also not offered more coffee, which was pretty good. Come on, you can't be a diner and not put out a decent omelet. Sorry, really cute old diner, but won't be back. read more
