Immediately our attention was drawn to the cleanliness and well maintained decor. We were greeted by a smiling Shannon (Admin Assistant) who introduced Sylvia (Community Manager) to us and she quickly gave us a short explanation as to the history of the complex, what was available and all the various events & activities offered. Sylvia then took us on a walking tour of the building pointing out all the amenities. As we toured, we were impressed with every space being extremely well maintained, clean & odor free. Every entry/exit point is secured electronically making for a safe environment, to which Sylvia commented security is a top concern for residences. A 2-Bedroom wasn't available for review, but we got to see a 1-Bedroom unit which was immaculate. The bathroom was large and had a step-in shower, no tub, which was huge. Very nice. The entrance to most of the apartments are adorned with displays of flowers on small stands, or trinkets & photographs and added to the "homey" feeling. Wonderful touch. The complex is atop a hill area in the town of Milton. There's a shopping area a few blocks away and COSTCO, Home Depot & Lowe's are only a couple of miles north on Enchanted Parkway Highway. Adjacent to the complex is a fire station and the Milton Police Department patrols the area regularly. Alder Ridge Senior Apartments is at the top of our list for places to live. Highly recommended. But, please don't move there so there are apartments available for us when our current rental lease is up.

We just moved Mom in and she and we couldn't be happier! We visited several Independent living…read morecommunities before mom decided on The Meridian at Stone Creek. We had started off the summer with the suggestion to just take a look as mom is still super independent and still drives. When we walked into the lobby we got a hmmm...... "this is beautiful, I may like to live here." And then later it was "This is the one, this is where I want to be." That was a surprise, as mom had dug her heels in and had refused even to look at any community for the past 2+yrs. Mom is 84 and a widow of two years, drives herself to the store, Dr, dentist ect. The Meridian at Stone Creek besides not looking like the institutional senior community we had visited prior to our visit here, the residence seemed to be more engaged with the community and other residents. There were actually community member milling around walking, visiting sitting in the library reading, having a snack and a cup of coffee at the snack bar. Everyone from the community residence to the staff are super friendly and there is just so much going on here that it seems if mom wants to be busy from sun up to sun down she can. There are several activity directors here and they are always making sure that their residents are engaged and welcome. We were surprised to find out they have a in house physical therapist and nurse, a dentist and podiatrist that visit and they have a hair salon. The Meridian actually has a restaurant that has a chef which gives mom two specials for lunch and dinner she can choose but there is a set menu to choose from. Mom loves choosing from the many items at breakfast and also having a omelette made just the way she likes it. She often says "it's like going to a restaurant, I pretty much just tell them what I want for breakfast." Everyday I get the meal run down, what a way to get spoiled. After more than 2yrs of discussions about senior living she now says "I don't know what I was thinking, I should have done this sooner, this isn't what I was thinking it was like. This is more like a cruise ship, with its restaurant, activities, clubs and everyone is so friendly." This is probably one of the best decisions for moms well-being that could have been made. As we get older it's important to keep engaged with others. Everyone lives close to here all within 10 miles and some family members just a mile away. She always had family members dropping in and out but never as often as she would have liked which would be every day to spend several hours at a time, but families are busy. She still has her very own apartment, with all her own things. She's making new friends, trying new things and finally just enjoying life. Update: Two weeks in and yes she still loves it and she's making new friends!

Anyone considering Wesly Garden for senior living should review all agreements and contracts with…read morean elder attorney. The sales people speak in subjective and vague terms and make no firm commitments but suggest several things that are not supported by the contract you are asked to sign. For those who rely on spoken word and don't read the fine print they are likely in for a surprise. Their contract is very one-sided leaning heavily in favor of Wesley Gardens and weak in committing to responsibilities and obligations Wesley Garden can be held to. The cost to get on their wait list is $2000 non-refundable. In our case we were led to believe that although they could make no promises it would be reasonable to think in terms of 9-12 months. After 8 months we were then told t was currently we should expect about 2 years from that date and again in Dec 24 the expected wait time was still 2 years, (36 months from start of wait list, reminding me of the Seinfeld Chinese restaurant episode). My mother had visited and liked what she saw and heard and did not want to go anywhere else. We had signed up for a 1 bedroom. Some months in, a different more expensive unit was offered which we declined. They argued that we were offered and declined a 1 BR unit we had requested, and was evidence of filling some vague obligation, in fact it was a one bedroom plus den. The offered unit was not what was requested and was declined as it was more than my mother need and outside of her budget. When asked what percentage of the people on their wait list actually ever get into Wesley Garden I was told they did not know but that numbers and those statistics didn't matter. In fact at the time there were 200 people on the wait list banking them up to $400,000 which their VP said was needed due to the cost of maintaining this wait list. It seems the wait list is a revenue source of its own. It is highly unlikely they would not know what percentage of people on their wait list ever were admitted, but it does make sense why they wouldn't want to disclose it. I will be requesting the Attorney General look into their deposit policy just to make sure it is as fair and justified as they claim it is. Make no mistake, they are in-line with their one-sided contract, and I am not suggesting they violate their own contract. But seem to rely on elderly listening to the words they speak and not looking closely at the fine print that their lawyers have protected Wesley Garden very well with. Anything you are told verbally by Wesley Garden should be taken with healthy skepticism and ensure that everything you are told is documented in the contract. Then thoroughly review and understand the contract you are asked to sign (preferably with an attorney). This should especially be done with the $150,000 or more deposit agreement that you must pay.

In all fairness the appointment was arranged through a third party service. With that said, we arrived at the appointed time and there was no one at the counter. a full 15 minutes later there was still no one there. One staff member did walk by and asked if we needed help but was unable to provide any assistance. That staff member also failed to call the front desk person back to the front desk. While we waited there was an "incident" with a resident and her coat. It was a small matter (she couldn't pull the hood out that was out of place on her back). If the front counter person had been there this would've made this woman's life better. I seriously hope this was a one-off incident.

My father in law was needing more care as we could not stop in each week so we asked them to help with shaving and reminders for showering and help with dressing. We agreed to and paid the increased fees that they required for this additional care. When we face timed my father in law, it was very evident he was not getting any of this care, hair was long and unkept, full beard so never was shaved, yet we were paying the higher per month fee. We called 3 times for the nurse to look at a sore that was evident on his leg with no call back. We asked that the podiatrist see him at the end of last month for nail clipping when in at the facility, and that was never done either though we paid for this additional care each month. We then rec'd an email saying that my father in law needed to move into their Memory care unit and the cost would got up over 5,000 per mo. My husband responded saying that since they don't take medicare when private funds run out, we would need to move him to a different facility and asked if we could do that during covid restrictions. We found a memory care facility within 3 weeks of them notifying us that they recommended memory care. Though they never had him formally evaluated for memory care, though they never moved him into the Memory Care Units, though we told them we did not agree to this proposal. Brannan Park charged our Auto pay for the $5,000 + memory care charge without our consent. nor placement of him into their memory care unit. We luckily were able to stop the auto payment on our end and moved him out within the month. They are the most corrupt and fraudulent management and I caution anyone that is thinking of the Village Concepts Assisted Living /Memory Care. DO NOT place your family member with this organization. The Brannan Park in Auburn especially. I cannot believe how unprofessional they have been. NO Star rating in our opinion.

Our very first visit by Samantha was like she had always known Ethel, who suffered a stroke and went from IQ north of 160 to south of 70 in a month of hospital. While she is very frustrated in having always known so much, now is unable to use ordinary nouns and has severe balance issues. My guess is that no matter what issues we might have had, they have the talent to address it. Having met MANY caregivers, I am certain these folks are the best in South King or North Pierce. I will write a longer recommendation letter for Comfort Keepers to use.
