Tried to get a hold of someone regarding my mom's care. But either no one answered the phone and even though I left messages no calls back

First off the care staff is fantastic. they are worked too much and there are too few of them. But have always taken care of my parents. The kitchen is a joke. A facility like this should not run out the dinner special. Today both were out before dinner was over. they often run out of stuff. bread? butter? tarter sauce? Who wants fish and chips with out tarter or any thing. They show all this fancy food on the website but that is a joke also. The chef can not figure out how to cook for this type of place. This kitchen things is on going. Residents should never be turned away when they show up just before 6. Stupid. read more

We just moved Mom in and she and we couldn't be happier! We visited several Independent living communities before mom decided on The Meridian at Stone Creek. We had started off the summer with the suggestion to just take a look as mom is still super independent and still drives. When we walked into the lobby we got a hmmm...... "this is beautiful, I may like to live here." And then later it was "This is the one, this is where I want to be." That was a surprise, as mom had dug her heels in and had refused even to look at any community for the past 2+yrs. Mom is 84 and a widow of two years, drives herself to the store, Dr, dentist ect. The Meridian at Stone Creek besides not looking like the institutional senior community we had visited prior to our visit here, the residence seemed to be more engaged with the community and other residents. There were actually community member milling around walking, visiting sitting in the library reading, having a snack and a cup of coffee at the snack bar. Everyone from the community residence to the staff are super friendly and there is just so much going on here that it seems if mom wants to be busy from sun up to sun down she can. There are several activity directors here and they are always making sure that their residents are engaged and welcome. We were surprised to find out they have a in house physical therapist and nurse, a dentist and podiatrist that visit and they have a hair salon. The Meridian actually has a restaurant that has a chef which gives mom two specials for lunch and dinner she can choose but there is a set menu to choose from. Mom loves choosing from the many items at breakfast and also having a omelette made just the way she likes it. She often says "it's like going to a restaurant, I pretty much just tell them what I want for breakfast." Everyday I get the meal run down, what a way to get spoiled. After more than 2yrs of discussions about senior living she now says "I don't know what I was thinking, I should have done this sooner, this isn't what I was thinking it was like. This is more like a cruise ship, with its restaurant, activities, clubs and everyone is so friendly." This is probably one of the best decisions for moms well-being that could have been made. As we get older it's important to keep engaged with others. Everyone lives close to here all within 10 miles and some family members just a mile away. She always had family members dropping in and out but never as often as she would have liked which would be every day to spend several hours at a time, but families are busy. She still has her very own apartment, with all her own things. She's making new friends, trying new things and finally just enjoying life. Update: Two weeks in and yes she still loves it and she's making new friends! read more

Came today to see my grandma and they are wonderful!! The people at the front desk are so nice and helpful. The building is GORGEOUS!!! Grandma was so excited to show me all the fun activities they have going on. Had lunch in the restaurant and it was DELICIOUS!!!! Staff is walking out, and residents are not receiving the care paid for! Management does not show up for resident meeting and wants anyone who has a complaint to write a letter. Most of the people that live there are not able to do this. They are expecting the residents to have buffet style meals because they do not have the staff to serve them. I know my father, who is in a wheelchair is not able to serve himself and take it to a table, yet the bill continues to increase! Where is all of the money they are collecting going? It is definitely not on residents or care staff! I would not recommend putting a loved one here!! I would not even give this place one star but had to put something in order to post this review. read more

I love this building! Its a beautiful community in a wonderful serene location while still close to town. They provide all levels of support including Independent cottages, assisted living and memory care. They are also in the construction phase of their 55+ building. I highly recommend this community as a must see. The staff is always warm and welcoming, It feels like a 5 star hotel! read more

Wonderful setting for Mom...she is transitioning nicely and they are very friendly and accommodating!

We were looking for a facility for my father. We toured several other sites and none had the feel Meridian does. The marketing director Michael met with me, took me on a tour, showed me the apt and I was impressed. Fees are very similar to the other facilities we looked at but this building is like a nice hotel. Every one I met seemed genuinely happy to be there. We recently move my father in and he seems very content. Not one complaint with the food. He does have diabetes and they seem to be managing it well. So far, so good! read more

My brother has been at this facility for 3 year in the Legacy wing. It is very nice, doesn't have a nursing care feel, it's has an upscale hotel look. It's very clean and well maintained. The concern I have is the accountability for the clients. There should be some kind of visual of each client hourly at the very least. During my visits I have watched the staff frantically search room to room as worried relatives follow close behind. The other thing is the food, somethings need to be cut up for the client to make it easier for them to eat. If the staff notices the client is not eating maybe they could stop and offer to cut the food up. Just my observations if you are interested. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. After working with a reputable company I now understand how the process should go and what should be red flags for anyone in the future! Cashing deposit checks before receiving any paperwork needed for acceptance, being led to feel like we are a liar and wanting to misrepresent our fathers care needs so once he is there we walk away and leave them to manage his care, led to believe our fathers weight would make it impossible to be under their care long term and the icing on the cake...being told he has behavioral issues because he takes anxiety and antidepressant medication. After we jump through more than enough hoops, we are still being lied to, still being led to believe they are fulfilling what they stated they would and still not getting messages returned. When every time you call, the person your looking for is "in a meeting"...something is wrong. I'm confident this is how they are paying their employees and operating costs by receiving and depositing checks immediately even before they confirm acceptance of a resident and than hold onto your deposit for a month or more after the cancellation. Meridian at stone creek took an exciting event in our lives allowing us to finally bring our father closer to family and turned this into such a negative and pricey experience because they can't tell the truth if it bit them in the face...still trying to understand how this place can take a deposit check and cash it for an assistants living resident when they still have NO LICENSE to operate an assistant living location! In addition, when you catch them in a lie, their immediate response is "I'm sorry, we had some miscommunication or we dropped the ball on that" Beyond disgusted in how they robbed our father who is a disabled veteran and their original hesitation of acceptance for him was because of a service related disability they stated was a behavioral issue! read more

My mother has been living here for 3 years now. If you would like to be in a place where you don't need any assistance at all I suppose it would be fine. She lives in independent living but anytime she has ever needed any assistance with anything it has never come. We moved some distance from there when we called the office to get help or call the manager to get help our calls are not returned. It took them over four months to get her phone working. I would concur with some other guests that if you are looking for assisted living this is not the place...they can't even manage to get back to you or your elderly person. Their staff have full access to tenants rooms and when things are stolen as were recent stolen from my mother.. precious diamond and gold rings. They along with the local police department have done absolutely nothing. And they will do nothing to compensate for the cost of the lost jewelry, even though it is their employees who are entering their rooms with keys and stealing belongings. Their housekeeping is not housekeeping when I return to visit my mother I have to clean her apartment properly the floors are not cleaned well there's dust on everything. My mother has met some wonderful people there and there are a few staff members that are still there that she enjoys. They have a regular turnover and staff. The rates have gone up several hundred dollars every year. It's still seems to be reasonably priced for the area. It is unfortunate that such a lovely building is run so poorly and gives little regard to their tenants. For these reasons we are choosing to move to a new facility. My mom is currently a resident at Stone creek since the summer of 2016. While she has made a lot of great friends, loves to spend time with them, and enjoys living at Stone creek, we have some concerns about the care she is receiving. The aides are wonderful, caring, well trained and kind staff. My mom and our family appreciate everything they do and how hard they work. The issue we have is the staff to assisted living resident ratio and response time after a resident has pushed the call button on their necklace. "Assisted living residents" are individuals who need help with day to day living: showering, being transported (via wheelchair) to and from the bathroom and then on and off the toilet, medication management, transporting to and from the dining area, etc. The response time can vary from a few minutes to well over 30 minutes. When you need to be taken to the toilet, wait times that are this long can be excruciating. Another thing that we have noticed is the quality of the food, Bland food that is dry, not seasoned properly, and/or is cold, are often the problems. Stone creek staff has regular "menu and food" meetings with residents, but there hasn't been much of an improvement. When you have a loved one who is elderly, healthy and nutritious meals are very important. It's distressing that this has become such an issue that some residents avoid eating certain food items, due to the poor quality. Finally, there is a lack of an equipped exercise room, where residents can build and maintain strength as well as remain mobile and active. To their credit, Stone creek has said they were working on creating this, but it is said to be small with very minimal equipment. They do offer some chair yoga and stretching sessions, but an equipped onsite exercise room would really be a benefit. In closing, if you are considering having a love one move to Stone creek, please be aware of these issues. I am hoping that Stone creek can improve on these points, as it is a nice facility, with staff is extremely caring. From my point of view, it is an issue with Stone creek and their parent company, Pacifica. They are ignoring the fact that no matter how great of a staff they have, they simply can only do so much. They really need to increase the staff. ***i will update this review if/when these issues are addressed and improvements are made. 8/31 - I am changing this to one star as response times when using a necklace call button are actually getting worse. Calls and emails to Stone creek are not being responded to by myself and my family, and other residents are also having problems with their necklace call buttons. And yet, Stone creek continues to accept residents despite being under staffed. We are disappointed with this situation and that Stone creek is not doing anything to rectify it. It is unfortunate because our mom has made friendships and generally enjoys living there, but she too is worried about lack of responsiveness by staff. Please note that we feel that the issues fall on management and Stone creek administration, not on the aides themselves. read more

My family member really enjoys living at The Meridian, and we would give a higher rating if it weren't for the increased waiting times. The number of assisted living residents has increased to 31, and it's under staffed as they haven't hired more aides. Wait times have GREATLY increased to those needing assistance, which is not proper care (I was told that at one time it took two hours for a response, another time it was 30 minutes). Wait times should be less than 10 minutes. If you are considering living there as assisted living, be sure to inquire as to the resident staff ratio and what the average current response time is. Perhaps ask to speak to one of the residents to hear first hand. The aides are great, but they need to hire more help. If we see the wait times decrease, I will change this review to a 4 star. read more

I encourage anyone looking for a retirement home to tour the community more than once. When you visit, ask questions about common concerns you have regarding your loved one, talk to the residents who are interested in visiting and visit with the families throughout the community to gain insight. These types of interactions can give great perspective into the community and it significantly helped us while we searched for a retirement community for my Grandmother. We are grateful for our positive experiences at The Meridian at Stone Creek. We went on a few tours of this retirement community in an effort to determine if this was a good choice for my Grandmother. We were able to meet residents living in this community, talk with family members, sample the meals served, meet the directors in each department and become more familiar with the community as a whole. William, the Director of Nursing at the Meridian at Stone Creek, helped with the transition of moving my Grandmother and assisted her in becoming acquainted with other residents who lived in Memory Care. William was available after his regular work hours and gave us his cell phone number if there were ever any questions or concerns. We also appreciated the dedication of the caregivers who were patient and kind towards my Grandmother. Outside of our experiences with the caregivers, one of the families in Memory Care would always bring a plant or a bouquet of flowers each week for the caregivers because they appreciated all they did. When we had meals with my Grandmother, we witnessed the gentleness of care given to residents and we appreciated the extra attention they gave to my Grandmother. Every month The Meridian at Stone Creek hosted a family buffet where the dining staff prepared a beautiful meal. We could easily see the amount of preparation and work involved. I recommend asking if it is possible to attend this event so you are able to visit with the staff and perhaps, the residents as well. We enjoyed hearing the stories of the residents and their experiences at The Meridian at Stone Creek. There is also a bistro area where residents like to sit and visit with guests. Choosing a retirement community for a loved one is a big responsibility. We can imagine running a retirement community is also a challenging experience. When we had questions after moving my Grandmother in, the Director at The Meridian at Stone Creek, sat with us and went over new information. We appreciated the monthly letter sent out with community updates as well. I am sure if there was a concern, we could have communicated whatever was needed and resolved the matter easily. So many people went out of their way to make The Meridian at Stone Creek a comfortable place for my Grandmother to live. We are thankful for the time my Grandmother spent there. read more

The Meridian here in Milton is about as good as it gets. The brand new building is beautiful and charming. The Directors are so kind, caring and available. Tommy, William, Patricia and formerly Lisa have an open door policy and will sit with you by the fireplace and listen to any questions you may have. They will stop what they are doing just to shout out a hello as you walk by. These directors are supported by a staff that goes above and beyond 24/7. My Mother was one of the firsts guests to move in. She is in the Memory Care wing and after the adjustment period, she is doing FABULOUS! I and my wife have lived at The Meridian at Stone Creek for the best part of a year. Our second retirement community, it has exceeded all of our expectations. We live in a cottage which contains all of the necessities for us to live fully independent lives, including preparing our own meals. Alternatively, if we wish to have a restaurant-style meal, we go to the newly-opened facility in the main building which does away with all of the pre- and post meal chores (at least for us.) All of our needs are taken care of from from major appliance repair, (admittedly an unlikely event in these brand-new homes) to the replacement of items such as defunct CFL light bulbs with the LED variety. A weekly housekeeping service reduces our interior workload significantly and the weekly landscaping work done by an outside contractor ensures that not only individual residences but the whole Meridian campus continues to look its best, what ever the season. Our leisure times have not been forgotten either. Our Executive Director Kimberly and Activities Director Shelly provide us with a full slate of activities to stimulate our minds and bodies: Visits to the theater and concert halls, to museums and art galleries are usually accompanied by lunch at one of the many ethnic/specialist/ restaurants in the area. For those of us who wish to (try to) slow down the aging process, sessions of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates are offered on a regular basis with an overall goal of improving balance and strength. Kimberly provides guidance and a constant presence to her key staff -- Chef Jonathan, Laurie, Dwight, Elizabeth and William -- who all display, as well as an understanding of their formal roles at Meridian, great senses of humor which is perhaps a prerequisite to performing these roles. The Activities ladies are all real nice, mom and dad just went on a trip for wine tasting and I came to visit on the day they brought in fair activities, it was really cool. If you love your family do not let them live here. They lost my grandmother's hearing aids and cell phone costing big bucks. They took no responsibility despite the fact that she was living in memory care and it was their job to put the hearing aids in the morning and take them out at night. Also it was very concerning to me that every time that I called they said she was in a wheelchair. She can walk on her own. Now that she's out of this place she's walking fine. read more

My Father in law has been a resident in the Memory care Unit at Meridian since April 2016. We toured several other facilities, and did a lot of research before choosing Meridian as his home. I am a RN who expects and looks for a high quality of care in any health care facility. We have been beyond impressed with the care my father in law has received since his admission. He has been content, calm and happy in the memory care unit at Meridian. William, (Director of Memory Care), and the caregivers are very knowledgeable about caring for someone with dementia, and treat each resident with respect and dignity. William is an incredible advocate for the residents. If anyone spent any time in the Meridian Memory care unit, it is obvious William and the caregivers give outstanding care. Each resident's plan of care is individualized and adjusted as needed. They treat the residents as their own family members. Not only do we have peace of mind, with our Father in law living at Meridian, we actually are cherishing and enjoying time with him, even with his dementia diagnosis. RUN AWAY! We gave a $2000 refundable deposit on Dec 19 The location did not have a state lic. yet but would have it by the 2nd week of Jan 2016 Our deposit check was cashed on Dec. 21. Dwight said on Jan 6 to give our notice at my dad's current apt. that he can move into Meridian 30 of Jan 'no problem' Jan. 11th,Meridian started playing games with the required paperwork. They needed a dr. statement, we provided, they needed his current home health provider statement we provided. Jan. 13th during a call from us, calls are always from us, there is no return calls from the staff at Meridian. Kimberly Grossman informs us that they will not accept our father because he takes anti-depressants. Kimberly will roll her eyes in front of you, she will whisper under her breath in front of you, she will make you fell very uncomfortable about your experience. January 15th, my family has a meeting with the RN, Elizabeth, to discuss our father's care because at this point we still truly believe in The Meridian. Elizabeth explains to us that Kimberly should not have said that 'some people do not belong on the phones'. We were told that the State's inspection was scheduled for January 25th, then it would be 21 days after that for their license to be issued and dad could move in. Since it was clear that their license was not going to happen till into February, yet my father had to be out of this apartment on the 30th as it was already re-rented. We booked a hotel for him to stay in with home health care. January 22nd again, us calling them because we have heard nothing for another week regarding my dad's acceptance. Spoke with Elizabeth, we are informed that they would love for him to move in Because our father needs to be out of his current place on Jan 30 but Meridian will not be ready for him to move in right away, we plan on him moving into a Hotel we ask Kimberly on Jan 22 if we can move his stuff into his apt. w/ Meridian to avoid a storage unit. She says yes as long as we sign the lease 1st January 26th us calling again speak with Kimberly to schedule an appt. to sign the lease so that we can move my father's stuff straight from the U-haul into his apartment. She informs us that she is not available to sign the lease till February 1st. We ask how did the inspection go, she says it is not till the 27th January, so again misinformation. I show up at The Meridian at my scheduled time to sign the lease on February 1st with Kimberly, have the U-Haul so I can move everything out that day and get it returned to stop the $40/day rental fee Right off the bat Kimberly is appearing rushed and hurried, like I just stopped in. She starts to refer to my father has 'him', or is that him, very rude and in a derogatory way. She asks why I thought it would be ok to move his stuff into the apartment, 'where did you get that idea?' I explain she told me. Kimberly then says that the Nurse needs to do an assessment on my father before I could sign the lease, could I get my dad in for the assessment now, the agreement that I signed when giving the refundable $2000 deposit clearly stated that once the nurse assessment is done you will only be entitled to $1500 refund, you loose $500 right away. I start to realize that something is going on, it has felt for a while that they were trying to get us to cancel, and that all of the hoops that they were putting us through was to discourage us, maybe they over booked, maybe they just needed everyone's $2000 deposits for operating cash I do not know She then informs me that they failed the state inspection on January 27th and that it would be a couple of weeks to fix the issues, get another inspection scheduled and then another 21 days before anyone can move in, so another minimum of 6 weeks At this point I knew that we had to cancel and start over finding a new place We gave our official cancellation on February 2nd and requested our full $2000 refund as we did not do the nurse assessment therefore we were contractually entitled to the full $2000. We were told that the refund would be to us in 2 weeks, that seemed reasonable Today is February 24th still no refund, over 3 weeks later, we have had to give another $2000 deposit at a new place We have called Meridian 3 times in the last week asking for the refund and each time get a complicated excuse, excuse is all it is Then you top everything I get an e-mail from Kimberly today asking me to submit a review for them gladly, here it is read more
