The property is supposed to be "controlled access" but there are holes cut in the fence by the homeless occupants of a nearby encampment which abuts next to the railroad tracks. The trains are a HUGE nuisance with the noise, fumes and constant idling airbrake releases. Management is told about the holes and they just look away and say "we are getting bids", weeks turn into months and nothing is done. Man gates can be pulled open from the outside, talking about loss of control access. This is supposed to be a non smoking property but the smell of people smoking weed and tobacco hangs in the air like a noxious cloud. Some residents don't even try to hide their smoking. Dogs are allowed to run around off leash and crap without being picked up., even though there are dog parks located on property. I enjoy the activities and some great neighbors.

We gave Shauna every detail possible about my mother-in-law's condition and after checking a few other places, decided to take her for an evaluation to determine the care needed. We all agreed on level 3 care with Jennifer the head nurse. We moved her in after a week or so and my wife stayed for a couple of days to help her get used to her new environment. My mother-in-law is prone to falling and did so on her second night in the place. My wife pushed her emergency button on her arm. After about 20 mins my wife went to go see if someone could help. There was no one around to be found and it took over an hour and a half for someone to come check on her. By then my wife was already able to help her back to bed. It seems like the nurses did the bare minimum for my mother-in-law the whole time she was there. At Thanksgiving we decided to see if wanted to come stay the night with us and have dinner. We brought her home and realized during that entire two weeks there that they had not bathed her at all because, she smelled really bad and when asked why, we were given the excuse that there was a bandage on her arm. We decided to bring my mother-in-law home for good and put in notice to quit. when I went to get some of her things to bring home the nurses told me they were concerned about her wine drinking. I let them know that Shauna and Jennifer were made fully aware of my mother-in-law's condition, but I have the feeling they were just working on damage control. We are currently looking for legal advice on this situation. Please DO NOT bring your loved one to this place!! The sales pitch is amazing but, they absolutely do not do the things they say they do. The monthly cost for this care that we paid 2 months' worth on was $7,800.00 They need to get the people better help in this place for sure.

Three nights ago, my loved one asked them to call 911 for her because she had fallen or blacked out. They did not. One hour later, I arrived and took my loved one the emergency room myself. Then last night, they DID send my loved one to the emergency room, but failed to call me at all. Late the next afternoon (today), when I couldn't reach her, I called Cogir. Only THEN they told me "they sent her out last night" meaning she had gone to the Emergency Room. They acknowledged that their policy is to call me, and that they should have, but they did not call me. No missed calls. No voice mail. This was a specific question I asked before my loved one became a resident there. I received assurances that this was an existing policy. They could talk the talk during their sales pitch, but not so good at walk the walk.

What appealed to me from the fist step I took in the home is how clean, orderly, spacious and pleasant it is. I knew that my mom would like it. She is looking much healthier and happier since she has been there. I come by for quick visits and have also brought my brother and sister and their families for visits and each time we feel welcome. A Nurse Practitioner visits monthly and he and Elena are open to discussing my mom's health needs and taking a team approach to dealing with them. Elena makes excellent suggestions - and follows up on them. They also have a hair stylist visit and provide nail care. All of this means a great deal to me. My prayers were answered when I found this amazing place for my mom to live and be cared for.

Wow and Wow! Moving my mom and then my dad (45 days later) into Pacific Northwest Home Care has…read morebeen the best decision. I asked my mom what to write and she said "superb care!." Elena is amazing, genuinely caring and engaged in providing respectful and effective home care to our elders. She has hired incredible staff. Every time I visit they are moving around either spending time with the residents, providing care or cleaning. The care providers seem happy which means to me that they are being treated well and supported. My mom and dad get a better ratio of care providers compared to a skilled nursing facility and it is more cost effective and feels like they are home. I researched adult family homes and the five star ratings here are justified. Elena's communication is fabulous. She had a team of great care providers. She and her team treat my parents with the respect they deserve having survived 80 years of age and 57 years of marriage. Elena is very open to individual needs and preferences. My mom gets a personal bed bath every day and has not looked better in the past few years. My sister and I are so relieved and grateful. We are always welcomed into the house and Elena has been responsive to all communications. A++++++++.
