Dr. Beckman is a wonderful chiropractor and his wife, Heidi, is an equally wonderful massage therapist. On numerous occasions I have gone to see Dr. Beckman with very painful back pain, every time I have left the clinic I have felt much better, essentially pain free. The clinic is bright and clean. To top it all, uplifting music is played in the background during treatment, very relaxing. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places/services that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really dreadful shops, hotels and restaurants etc., but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them. read more

Dr.Beckman is the best chiropractor I have ever been to! When I was having really bad wrist pain several years ago I went to him and he fixed it in one session. I've never had the pain again. This year I started having frequent migraines so I went back to him for treatment. I've been going every week for a couple months and my migraines have become rare now: He is a miracle worker! I also recommend seeing his wife, Heidi, for a wonderful massage before your treatment. read more

Dr. Beckman is the best one I've worked with ever and has consistently had very helpful medical advice for me, outside of Chiropractic adjustments. Really recommend him AND Heidi, who helps get your muscles ready for an adjustment is the best money you will spend. read more

I came to Village Chiropractic pretty desperate with a very painful pinched nerve. I started by going twice a week and after each visit I remember feeling the next day less pain and the ability to move more. I'm on my third week now and this week I feel immediately better after an adjustment! My pain has gone from a 8-10 to a 2-3, and I'm no longer having muscle spasms from the pinched nerve. I'm hoping to continue and get back to baseline but feel very grateful to be almost pain free! read more

I'd just had the most painful day of my life (lower back injury) when I called Village Chiropractic as a new patient. Dr. Beckman was able to fit me in first thing in the morning and take some preliminary steps toward my recovery. I've since seen him more than half a dozen times and I've gone from being unable to move without significant pain to almost back to normal. I've still got a little way to go for my recovery, and Dr. Beckman and Heidy have been instrumental in getting me here, as they will be in helping me regain full health. read more

Great Chiropractor! Flexible scheduling, which is super helpful. Would recommend. Sometimes you can get a massage as well.

Dr. Beckman is amazing! I was able to get in last minute for a painful pinched nerve. Dr. Beckman was SO knowledgeable and thorough. I felt immediate relief and will be going regularly now for adjustments. read more

Dr. Beckman relieved my lower back pain starting on day one. On that first visit I had very sharp pain from a pinched nerve which he alleviated immediately. As I continued treatment, my back pain very quickly dissipated to the point where I no longer needed Tylenol. At every visit Dr. Beckman asks about my current symptoms and changes his treatments accordingly. Most recently he recommended that I use a decompression table in addition to adjustments which has made the world of difference. Thank you so much, Dr. Beckman. I know that I will be back running again soon!! And will continue with regular treatment to stay pain free. read more

Thank you Dr Beckman.. 2 weeks ago under my shoulder pain a solid 8 sometimes higher. Now you have got me loosened up and relaxed & aligned things to drop my pain level to a 1 or 2.. Basically got me out of my drama with only 4 treatments.. See you in a few days to continue on this path. Mille Grazie! read more

Dr. Beckman diagnosed and treated a leg injury and had me walking pain free right away. He must have used 6 or 8 modalities to treat me, including heat, TENS, adjustment, pressure point massage (skillfully done by Heidi, his wife), and more. I've seen chiropractors for decades as needed for pain. Dr. Beckman is the most knowledgeable and skilled of all the doctors I've seen. On the administrative side, he has an easy-to-use online system to book appointments, which sends reminders and follow-up surveys. This guy is the best! read more

I had pain in my right groin area with every step. The therapist in the office gave me very deep massages with a pulsating machine and heat before I saw Dr. Beckman and then he did more deep massage and some adjustments. I left the office and walked around the reservoir! read more

I can walk without pain again. Kaiser partially diagnosed my trouble but had more pain with their recommendations. Village Chiropractor pinpointed additional conditions, gently worked with infrared heat/massage therapy and muscle/skeletal alignments to put me back to normal. So grateful. I've been going to Village Chiropractic almost weekly for years now. Dr. Beckman is knowledgeable and really great at what he does. I also get the pre-treatment by Heidi before I get adjusted, and it has helped me tremendously. Highly recommend 10/10. Booking an appointment online is super easy. read more

Easy to book an appt. I love the location. Dr. Beckman is knowledgeable and very good at what he does. I saw him several times last year when I hurt my back and neck during a stressful period of my life (long hours on the computer and not taking care of myself with exercise)... a couple of therapy sessions and recommended exercises and I got back to normal pretty quickly. I hurt myself again earlier this year when I was again... not taking care of myself and my ergonomics, and he literally straightened me out again. I'm so thankful to have Dr. Beckman literally around the corner from where I live. Sessions are quick and very effective! Thank you Dr. B! read more

I'm so thankful to have found Dr. Beckman and Heidi. I have tremendous complications and pain and I was looking for someone to do deep tissue work, such as graston technique and ART to release the knots so my spine can be treated more thoroughly. Heidi does amazing trigger point therapy and overall great body work and Dr Beckman gets even deeper. They are both true healer and I'm beyond grateful to have them work so diligently on me because that means I'm healing! ‍ They are highly recommended. read more

Dr. Beckman is professional, personable, and knows his anatomy very well. It is clear that he is very knowledgable and has a wealth of experience. After one session, severe pain that had persisted for two years despite PT was relieved. It is very easy to make appointments - I was able to get one on the same day that I called. The price for sessions is very reasonable, even without insurance. read more

Had my first consult and adjustment with Chris today. Office is clean and well kept. Chris as a professional treated me with respect and made sure to provide the right amount of care I needed. If anyone is looking for a chiropractor, I feel confident this is a good choice for anyone. Will be returning shortly. read more

Dr. Beckham and Heidi are incredible at what they do. I have a lot of joint issues in addition to back pain and Dr. Beckham has been extremely knowledgeable with respect to all of those issues. In addition to adjustments, Dr. Beckham is skilled at active release of muscles, and Heidi is an excellent massage therapist who does deep tissue and trigger point. My knee pain in particular has decreased a lot, and Dr. Beckham was able to even drain my sinuses when they were bothering me one day. I also received a home exercise regimen to strengthen muscles to improve my posture and hold joints in place. The massage chair is very relaxing also! read more

The practice just moved to 3589 Brook St in Lafayette. The new clinic is homey with a clean and bright interior and more treatment rooms! Saw Dr. Beckman today because I'm usually a bit stiff after traveling. A few adjustments and trigger point therapy really helps. This has become a regular checkin point for my health. read more

Dr. Beckman is more than his prestigious Ivy League degree and California State Board Certification. Don't let the Village name fool you! Let it be known I trek from Palo Alto to Lafayette for his treatments- that is a 1 hour 30 minute drive without traffic. Dr.. Beckman is an active listener and problem-solver especially when it comes to my problem! (where should I start?) I am an extremely active woman with a high pain tolerance. After sustaining, a kite surfing accident, being rear ended on the freeway, and falling from a second story window in less than 18 months I was down and needed help. Dr.. B studied my medical exams and xrays dilligently and made a plan. I have been to many Chiropractors and had my first treatment at age 11 with a highly regarded Chiropractor/family friend So... I am not the greatest patient and I hope you never experience the metal tool that he uses to uncross my tendons and ligaments; but know this...Dr. Beckman is the best at his profession. I owe my mobility to Dr.Beckman and trust that when I call unable to move my legs and my head is throbbing from the pain in my neck he will do what is necessary to get me back to 100%. He accepts insurance is happy to take on the task of providing all the necessary documentation to get the claim paid. His follow up appointments are less than $50 making him the most accessible and reliable physician when you find yourself all knotted up and broken. Give him a call or use his online scheduling app...before you waste your time and money ..Life is too Short to live in pain. . read more

Super happy to get in for an adjustment. Will definitely be back while I'm in the area!

I've been a patient of Dr. Beckman's for about a month now and my experience there has been SO great. I originally found Village Chiropractic because I was looking for something local where I could be seen asap (I had waited far too long to see someone and had lost most of my range of motion in my neck and I was having terrible pain in my lower back) but I never expected to get so lucky! It's easy to make an appointment, you can be seen quickly (usually within the week but most of the time within a matter of days), I feel cared for and listened to when I'm there, and I really feel TREATED by the time I leave. And it doesn't stop there... You get customized follow-up emails as soon as your appointment is over and his office uses an app that you can download on your phone to keep track of the exercises and stretches you should be doing at home between sessions. I can't stop recommending him to my friends - he's professional, he knows his stuff, and the experience is top-notch. Everyone should see him. read more

Dr. Beckman has been wonderful! I suffer from back spasms and he is able to get me walking and feeling better in one visit. Normally, it would take my other chiropractor 2-3 visits. Dr. Beckman uses active release for my issues and it has been a Godsend! I would recommend Dr. Beckman to anyone! read more

After only 3 visits, I can't quite believe how much better I'm feeling. My chronic SI & hip pain are about 70% resolved. I like Dr. Beckman. He listens to you and adjusts and fine tunes treatment as things progress. His treatment is conservative, which I really appreciate. Nice office, reasonable fees, as well. read more

MIRACLE WORKER. I have been going to Dr. Beckman and Sandra for at least the last five years. I come in for a massage and then an adjustment. After a nasty fall from a helicopter in the military, I have had horrible back pain. Monthly visits to Sandra and Dr. Beckman make me almost pain free. I can't say enough good things. Sandra gets my muscles relaxed enough for Dr. B to make the adjustment. Highly recommend. read more

I've now met with Sandy at Village Massage several times. I think her deep tissue massages are actually helping my posture (which isn't why I'm going, but it's a nice bonus). She's very pleasant and her massages are absolutely wonderful. It's the first time I've ever gone back to the same person, rather than finding another good coupon somewhere else. $60 for an hour is very reasonable anyhow and I look forward to each visit. Her strong hands begin by warming up the muslces in my back starting with gentle movements along the length of each muscle, never making it feel like she's going against the grain or across the muscles. The pressure gradually increases and she always checks to make sure it's not too much. During my last massage I was imagining that her hands were ballerinas, performing a beautiful dance across my back and neck. When the session ended I checked her iPod and the song playing was "The Dancer" by Janie Becker. It seemed very appropriate The only negative thing I can say about Sandy is that she doesn't have a twin clone so that they could work together doing simultaneous couple's massage. And you have to be patient when setting up an appointment. She's booked a month out. Which says enough about her popularity by itself. It's very rare to find someone who is THIS great at their job! read more

Thank you Yelpers! I was in need of a new chiropractor in the East Bay. I found him! Chris is great. My first visit was last week. I had several issues going on from my neck down to lumbar area. I've been using Chiropractic care for 45 years so I consider myself an expert judge. He made me feel comfortable and was not pushy like some doctors ( annual wellness programs, X-rays or only want you if you commit to a minimum of ten visits etc. ) He took my insurance information without hesitation. Now let's talk about the adjustment: he had sit in his magical massage chair for 10-12 minutes to relax me. After that, he did an exam and did some aggressive massage (active release). He adjusted my mid back and lower back as well as my neck. Quick and effective. No more headaches or tightness between my scapula. I had my second adjustment today and will continue to see Chris on a regular basis. Thanks again Yelpers! read more

Dr. Beckman was great, he identified the problem and with one treatment did what 2 other chiropractors couldn't with 3 or 4 visits. I'm from the Fresno and had a 3 hour drive and so I went again just to have him help me survive the trip home. I would recommend him to anyone. read more

Very helpful twice now: last year had radicular pain down arm and was helpful and today was in significant acute back spasm and walked in lurched forward and so stiff I couldn't stand upright. Definitely would go back here again read more

Dr Beckmann is a miracle worker. I went to see him three visits ago for lower back pain. After two visits and after a lot of stretching correctly, I am fixed. Dr. Beck man takes his time and gives thoughtful diagnosis. I think the reason I recovered from my back pain is because he diagnosed me correctly. And gave me proper treatment. He is far different from the Chiropractor in Orinda, who's business model is to get you in get you out put stretch a person using a machine and the sell a patient high price orthodoxy. Dr Beckmann gets it right. A patient gets thoughtful treatment, proper diagnosis in a calm relaxing office without the hard sell of patient turnover and orthopedic equipment sales like the other doc in Orinda.
