Dr. Beckman is a wonderful chiropractor and his wife, Heidi, is an equally wonderful massage therapist. On numerous occasions I have gone to see Dr. Beckman with very painful back pain, every time I have left the clinic I have felt much better, essentially pain free. The clinic is bright and clean. To top it all, uplifting music is played in the background during treatment, very relaxing. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Dr. Beckman relieved my lower back pain starting on day one. On that first visit I had very sharp pain from a pinched nerve which he alleviated immediately. As I continued treatment, my back pain very quickly dissipated to the point where I no longer needed Tylenol. Dr. Beckman diagnosed and treated a leg injury and had me walking pain free right away. He must have used 6 or 8 modalities to treat me, including heat, TENS, adjustment, pressure point massage (skillfully done by Heidi, his wife), and more. Dr. Beckham and Heidi are incredible at what they do. I have a lot of joint issues in addition to back pain and Dr. Beckham has been extremely knowledgeable with respect to all of those issues. In addition to adjustments, Dr. Beckham is skilled at active release of muscles, and Heidi is an excellent massage therapist who does deep tissue and trigger point. My knee pain in particular has decreased a lot, and Dr. Beckham was able to even drain my sinuses when they were bothering me one day. I've been using Chiropractic care for 45 years so I consider myself an expert judge. He made me feel comfortable and was not pushy like some doctors ( annual wellness programs, X-rays or only want you if you commit to a minimum of ten visits etc. ) He took my insurance information without hesitation. Now let's talk about the adjustment: he had sit in his magical massage chair for 10-12 minutes to relax me. After that, he did an exam and did some aggressive massage (active release). He adjusted my mid back and lower back as well as my neck. Quick and effective. No more headaches or tightness between my scapula. I've now met with Sandy at Village Massage several times. I think her deep tissue massages are actually helping my posture (which isn't why I'm going, but it's a nice bonus). She's very pleasant and her massages are absolutely wonderful. It's the first time I've ever gone back to the same person, rather than finding another good coupon somewhere else. $60 for an hour is very reasonable anyhow and I look forward to each visit. Her strong hands begin by warming up the muslces in my back starting with gentle movements along the length of each muscle, never making it feel like she's going against the grain or across the muscles. The pressure gradually increases and she always checks to make sure it's not too much. During my last massage I was imagining that her hands were ballerinas, performing a beautiful dance across my back and neck. When the session ended I checked her iPod and the song playing was "The Dancer" by Janie Becker. It seemed very appropriate The only negative thing I can say about Sandy is that she doesn't have a twin clone so that they could work together doing simultaneous couple's massage. And you have to be patient when setting up an appointment. She's booked a month out. Which says enough about her popularity by itself. Very helpful twice now: last year had radicular pain down arm and was helpful and today was in significant acute back spasm and walked in lurched forward and so stiff I couldn't stand upright. Dr Beckmann is a miracle worker. I went to see him three visits ago for lower back pain. After two visits and after a lot of stretching correctly, I am fixed.
