Our development (Homestead at Mills River) uses Mateo Construction for landscaping maintenance…read more Being new to the area a couple of years ago, we originally used a local hardscaping company who did an "okay" job for an inordinately high amount and they were pretty unreliable. We were not satisfied and decided to look elsewhere midway in our project. We first gave Mateo a smaller job. They did such an excellent job that we assigned them the full project at that point. We could not be happier. It was like night and day compared to the previous company we had hired. Mateo showed up every day and worked hard to stay on schedule which they did. That is more than I can say about the previous company. Mateo also gave us a fair price and did not price gouge us. The quality of their work is outstanding. We were amazed at how fast they got it done and how dedicated they were to getting it right. Because of how well they did when we first moved here, we made the decision to only use Mateo construction for our outdoor space. Incidentally, we had to rebuild our staircase off our deck during this project, and Mateo was even able to do that. Next, I want to discuss dedication. We were in the middle of the this huge landscaping project (which covered about an acre of our property) and it was not finished around the time that Hurricane Helene hit. We had all the new trees in our driveway (to be planted) and the mulch was supposed to be laid. The Wednesday afternoon before Helene hit us on Friday morning, Mateo Construction showed up with enough workers to secure our trees and pour mounds of mulch and lay boulders in that acreage. Otherwise, it was raw dirt that would have eroded into the homes beneath us. Our house sits at 2600 feet elevation. They even did this in the rain just to make sure that we were OK. After Helene passed, they came by to check on us. They uprighted some trees that fell over. We also use them in the winter for our 300+ foot driveway when it ices. We are loyal customers! We are beginning a large addition to our existing home. And, of course, we have chosen Mateo Construction to do the hardscaping and landscaping for this project.

A very complicated, dangerous, tight situation with so many things that could have possibly gone wrong. Thankfully, a neighbor referred us to Carson and JR Tree Removal. We knew immediately upon meeting Carson that we chose the right company for the job. He was knowledgeable, pleasant and straight-forward. Carson and his crew came out and worked miracles taking down that tree, another large dying oak and then professionally trimmed a third large oak that was too close to the house. This was a ridiculously complicated job but this crew worked non-stop, carefully and perfectly. They took extreme care in protecting our yard and property. They barely stopped to grab a few bites at lunch and were back at it, leaving no mess behind. We've had tree work done before, but nothing this technical and large. JR Tree Removal team far exceeded our expectations. "Superhero" comes to mind when you're watching a team work together so seamlessly. In a world where it has become the norm to be disheartened by disappointment, this family operation is the real deal. I cannot say enough about how polite, conscientious, and hard-working these masters of this craft are. They are also competitively priced and properly insured (unlike so many others out there even if they say they are). If you need any kind of tree trimming or removal done, do not hesitate to call on these men. You and your property will be treated like it is their own family and property. Guaranteed.
