Our family of six was looking for a place to go while visiting in Rostrevor. We were craving Italian and this place looked great. For some reason the phone number wasn't working well for me, but we decided to risk showing up without a booking. When we arrived, a gentleman (I think he's the owner) let us know they were booked up and it would be an hour until we could get a table. He gave us some suggestions of other local spots to try. While we were outside considering our options, he came out and told us he'd risk it and that we could have a table.
We were so grateful and excited about our meal. We had the appetizer special to start - toasted Brie with fig and apricot jam, pistachios and crusty bread. It was amazing! Our host was beyond attentive and we felt like the guests of honor. Our entire family agreed this was our favorite meal of our entire trip. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere of the restaurant made it feel like we were invited into someone's home.
Our meal included the braised lamb shank with cannellini beans, the spaghetti carbonara, the seafood linguini, the chicken and bacon al forno, the pappardelle bistecca, and the Villa Vinci dirty pizza. Everyone took bites of everyone else's food because it was all delicious and amazing. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, the panna cotta, the creme brûlée, and the lemon cake.
It was one of our favorite evenings on our trip and definitely a meal we would love to have again. read more
