You have to drive at least 5 miles just to find other restaurants or attractions, and it's about 14 miles to Ensenada if you want more options. The hotel only has one restaurant, and while it was convenient, the food was overpriced for what it offered. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the property itself felt a bit neglected. There were several maintenance issues, including a broken toilet paper holder and a broken shampoo/conditioner dispenser that wasn't replaced until the following day. The paint in the room didn't match in several areas, and overall it could use some upkeep. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the property was extremely dusty, making it difficult to enjoy being outside, so we ended up staying indoors most of the time. We also booked a room advertised with a "valley view," but our view was mostly trees and a ditch, which was disappointing and not what we expected. On the positive side, the room itself was modern, clean, and nicely designed inside. With a few minor repairs and better maintenance, it could be an excellent place to stay. The hotel was also very quiet, which made for a peaceful atmosphere, although the room had great AC. Overall, I would rate Casa Frida 3 out of 5 stars. It has potential thanks to its friendly staf

Preservation great start to let our kids be aware even on vacations. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, spacious and a great open space kitchen. They place had us at the views and the host alone. A definite come back visit is a must. Although remote and private, perched on the hill, the accessibility was great to the tide pools, Bufadora town, grocery, kayak activities and restaurants were all walking distance. For an additional fee, there is a border to door service that is available and highly recommended from the host. Just ask the host and it made our travel hassle free and worry free. The house is huge and you're far enough away from everyone so you have complete privacy. They have a 24 hour guard and secure parking so no one gonna fuck with your car. They do have room service, food comes from the cafe next door and it's delicious! Best part is every morning they have fresh fruit and coffee in the kitchen. They have a collection of wine and beer that you can help yourself to. Just let them know and they will add it to your bill. They have snacks so if you get midnight munchies go ahead and take them, it's free fifty free! The people who work and so helpful and nice, they leave in the early evening and the guard is there all night. It's super safe and soo fucken beautiful! It's worth every penny in my opinion, It's my new go to place when I visit Ensenada. It's January so we can't really get into the pool cuz we would freeze. The service is good and it is very clean. I'm pretty picky about cleanliness and I get grossed out VERY easily. I've stayed in a few hotels in Ensenada before and brought stuff to clean parts of the room. I didn't have to do that here. The view from the room and balcony is beautiful. I think there are only 7 rooms here. There is a shared kitchen in the lobby where you can cook and store food and drinks. If I had a complaint it would be that the room is cold because the heater does not have the capacity to warm up the entire room which Is bigger than some homes. Hahahha. Extra blankets might help. Overall a wOnderful place that would be even better in the summer months.

We have called and even had a relative go to collect and continuously giving the run around. The houses were very dirty, one house had no water pressure and the other one had a broken refrigerator that smelled like fish. It's great when we come to Mexico to find most of our regular Costco items that we find in the states! It is interesting to also find other local products that are fun to try. The staff are very nice and so patient when I speak Spanish. And many of them speak English too which can be helpful when looking for an unusual item! The woman working in the Optical department was especially helpful! Also, the food is always good! We usually have a snack after shopping. The pizza is good and the lasagna looks amazing. I haven't seen lasagna in any other Costco. I will definitely try the lasagna and hubs wants to try the pulled pork. We will definitely be back!

Like most hotels/rooms in the Wine Country, it's word of mouth. Most rooms in this area start at $400 a night while this lovely place is a modest $150 and up. At the bottom of the hill, the lovely family runs an upscale home cooked restaurant (no dinner hours) called Mustafa's. While you are in Wine County off the main highway, you are only 15 minutes from downtown Ensenada. From this point you can exit Mexico via Tecate which allows you a much shorter wait time vs the Tijuana Border which can be upwards of 3 hours!!!
