We really didn't want to eat here even though it is right on the water- figured it was a tourist trap. But it was DELICIOUS! The waiter (beard, red hair) and waitresses were so kind and so hard-working. I ordered the CASARECCIA POLLO PICCANTE, and it was the best pasta I've had in a LONG time, and I'm picky about my pasta. My husband's pizza was also very tasty! Between the warm and hard-working staff and scrumptious food and beautiful sunset view of the river and city, we HIGHLY recommend this place.

I set my expectations low so I wouldn't be disappointed (I have VERY high standards for fine dining, particularly Italian). I figured it should be OK, but wasn't expecting to be wowed. WOW!! Despite the casual atmosphere the food was excellent. My wife and I decided we wanted a bit of pasta and chicken. So we ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and Pollo Alla Siciliana. Both dishes were delicious. The Bolognese sauce is probably the best I've had. I highly recommend this place if you like REALLY good Italian food.

We went back another night and ordered wine , salad and spaghetti with broccoli. The pasta was cooked aldente with tender well seasoned broccoli.it was all very good ! We would most definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious Italian meal .

Eco is a popular Italian restaurant in Clapham and has been around for over 20 years. For a…read moreneighbourhood restaurant that manage to last such a long time can only mean one thing, it has a loyal local following and the cooking is value for money. I love a good old fashioned Italian meal and the menu at Eco looks really tempting, from a selection of classic antipasti to pizza and pasta, just how real Italian food should be. The sourdough bread here really stood out, it had a really impressive lovely soft texture. The chilli prawn starter is a must try for any seafood and spicy food lovers, the powerful chilli and tomato flavours on the plate really brought out the sweetness of the prawn. The avocado and rocket bruschetta is also another solid antipasti dish, the buttery and peppery flavours worked like a treat on a piece of finely grilled bread, not to mention the quality of the olive oil was outstanding. The prawn and salmon spaghetti had a wonderful creamy texture, silky smooth and cooked to the perfect level. My favourite dish on the dish has to be one of the special menu on the night: The San Daniele risotto. The earthiness of the wild mushroom worked wonder with the sweet and nutty profile of the much celebrated ham, on top of that, it had the freshness and crispness of the asparagus offer a lovely contrast to the richness of the parmesan, it was really an enjoyable risotto. Less impressive was the stonebass, the seasoning was lacking and the garnishes of caper and olives were a touch too strong which overpowered the fish. Beside that, overall Eco has done a fine job in dishing out some very quality classic Italian cooking, nothing fancy or creative, just proper Italian food at a super reasonable price with bags of flavours. There are still plenty of the dishes on the menu I would love to try so I will definitely make a return when I am near Clapham again in the future.

I really enjoyed how crispy the zucchini was. My friends did not enjoy their caesar salad, and added on some of the balsamic to mask some of the taste. Unsure what went wrong there. On a busy Friday night in soho with restaurant queues of an hour+ and our stomachs rumbling, a tasty lasagne sounded great. Oh the choices! I wanted to try a bit of every lasagne, so greedily opted for the trio, where you get three halves of a (HUGE) slice of lasagne. I went for the Truffle, the spinach and the aubergine Pamigiana. You also get to have complimentary toppings like bechamel sauce, bolognese etc. And extra Parmesan, but with all that pasta and cheese I opted for nothing on top. The seating area is cute and doesn't feel like a 'fast food' place, the waiters and manager are Italian (for some reason it always makes me trust an Italian place more when the staff are also Italian!) and everyone was really friendly and attentive. Now the lasagne - YUM! I loved the spinach and aubergine ones, the truffle one didn't really taste of any truffle but it was nice nonetheless. What I was really impressed by was the fact that each slice rated so different, the sauces all had their own unique flavours, as opposed to it just being the same sauces with a different star ingredient. I had to take away half of my trio as the portions are huge! But money wise at £7.80 it's well worth the money. The only downside is that there's no fresh salad option to go with your lasagne, so you are pretty much just eating a big plate of lasagne. However, I was so hungry on that night, I didn't much mind that! Also, the toilets are in real need of a deep clean - but apart from that, if your in need of some Italian comfort food, check this place out!
