Three kinds of in-house made salts to put on your limes or oranges for the Mezcal tasting
    Terri G.

Last night had the most amazing dinner next-door to our resort. Villa Serena. This place is a hidden gem. It had the best service, amazing tequilas, and Mezcal, the food was off the charts. The tuna tartare we had was better than any we had even in Hawaii. I asked if we could meet the Chef and this beautiful young lady came out! Wow! She's the best!! Our evening ended with a spectacular Mexican coffee and the show was amazing. Please watch those videos to the end and see the magic that he did in creating this coffee.

We heard about this place through some locals so we figured we try it out. Our hotel is downtown so it was a short 10 minute ride in an UBER. It was night time so we couldn't see the nice views we heard about. We reserved a table just in case it was busy on a saturday which is wasn't so it was nice getting right in. There was a guy playing the piano which was nice and he was actually pretty good. We ordered the chips that came with salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, asparagus appetizer and the tortilla soup to start. The salsa was very tasty with a roasted flavor to it, the guacamole and pico was very fresh and great flavor. The tortilla soup was one of the best I've ever had. The flavor was perfect, and plenty of chips in it. For our meals we ordered the Filet and lobster and the lamb chops and lobster, which came with a baked potato. The filet and lamb chops were cooked perfectly (med rare) and tased perfect. The lobsters were cooked perfect as well and with the butter tasted great. The baked potato has cheese on melted on it and was delicious. Who doesn't like cheese. We barely had enough room for dessert but we ordered the chocolate souffle which was very yummy and melted in your mouth. Watch out for the cats that roam the area and beg for food. I would give the place a 5 star but the only problem was that the food came out just warm and not hot. Considering the place wasn't busy at all, the food shouldve been hot right off the stove.

Truly a great dinner. We went assuming from a friend that we might get a thanksgiving dinner. But not the case snd we couldn't have been happier. Great service and better food in a safe protocol following restaurant. The sunset view was amazing, but out done by the best guacamole I've ever had. Our server was Cico.... just great. Here is the breakdown of dinner: Bottle of great Chardonnay Guac and two kinds of chips... amazing Lamb chops, shrimp and lobster Ribs and lobster Flaming coffee 2 glasses of a nice red $149!!! C'mon folks, this place is awesome please support local hard working business.... I'd go tomorrow! Thank you Villa Serena.

OK I have mixed feelings but I'm gonna give this four stars for the whole experience. The ambience of this place is beyond cool. They had an amazing piano player, the view is beautiful, the strung up lights, make it very rustic and romantic at the same time. There are wild cats running all around so if you're a cat person like me it's a little slice of heaven. I realize cats aren't for everybody so if you hate cats you might not want to come to this restaurant. The service was a bit slow and I would say 50-50 on the food. Some of the meals were decent and some of them or just plain bad. Mine was one of the bad ones... I had the steak tampequina and it was thin and dried out. The steak nachos were also dry and not very good. The enchiladas were very authentic and the ribeye was decent. Great drinks and a very kind staff so overall, I would say it was pretty good.

We love this place. We make it a point to go for dinner at least once during our trips to Cabo. The steak and lobster is a must as well as the shrimp stuffed poblano peppers. The service and atmosphere are always top notch.

Great food and great atmosphere! We hated the amount of flies that kept swarming around us while eating outside and they quickly offered a solution that kept them away, the pricing is amazing for the amount of food you get! Can't wait to come back to Cabo and enjoy them again!

The food was good, the atmosphere was great, I just wish we'd had better service. The atmosphere can't be beat, really. The main level by the bar and the next one down are completely open to the elements (with a solid roof of course) and very breezy. It was extremely comfortable. The only complaint I have is that we were seated and asked about drinks with no menu. We just said, margaritas, and then sat there and had to ask a waiter for a menu. At some point silverware came. They didn't even seem that busy. Either way, we spent the time looking at luxury yachts floating by in the ocean. I'd recommend checking this place out if only for the view. Oh, watch your GPS. Ours wanted us to go in the Villa Serena hotel area but the turn is a dirt road before that. You don't need a reservation. If you miss the turn you have to take the retorno and go all the way around. Like we did!

Great spot to eat, especially if you're staying at Sirena Del Mar. A quick Uber ride or 15-20 minute walk away. This place is very popular during breakfast, so if you're in a hurry, plan accordingly.

The food was delicious! We came as a large party of 7. The restaurant easily and comfortably accommodated us. The staff was awesome as the food was delicious. However The view was spectacular. A must try for vacationers or locals.

We went in for a pre-Christmas dinner on Dec. 22nd. The atmosphere is open air and very comfortable. There was a live pianist playing Christmas music. The service was friendly. The Mango Margarita was perfectly blended. Our chicken quesadilla appetizer was served with refried beans and guacamole. The refried beans with a hint of bacon flavor were the best I've had in Cabo. The Taco Loco with chopped steak was served with beans and guac. and perfectly spiced. The chicken enchiladas are served with rice and beans and covered with a slice of avocado and sour cream. The sauce was flavorful. Had we known that we would get complimentary chips and salsa we might have skipped the quesadilla because it added up to a lot of food. The restaurant is very laid back with a nice view of the Sea of Cortez. The prices were fair and there was no upselling. Possibly the only negative was that there were several cats milling around. Will definitely return. Give this place a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

We had a party of 10 at Villa Serena. Everyone loved their dinner. 6 people in our party had previously eaten here earlier in the week and suggested we join them. Glad we did! Great customer service in very pleasant atmosphere with a piano player, views, and a pool. My husband and I had the Chile Rellenos and Chicken Enchiladas. Would definitely visit again.

I'm talking the kind of band that makes you want to order another margarita just so you can clap along like you suddenly grew up in Guadalajara. And the food? Real-deal Mexican classics mole, enchiladas, chile rellenos big flavors coming out of a kitchen that knows what it's doing. Now let's talk about the chips and salsa, because I didn't come here to play games. Some restaurants give you chips like they're doing you a favor three chips and a little salsa like it's a museum sample. Not here. These chips show up ready to party. Crunchy, warm, and the salsa hits you like, "Hola amigo, welcome to flavor." Add the incredible service and that mariachi band floating through the courtyard and suddenly dinner turns into a whole event. Honestly, this place was one of the highlights of my Cabo trip and my socks? Yeah... they're still somewhere on the floor from those chips and salsa.

But that was the end of the positive things as a swarm of flies quickly came to eat the food. Trying to swat them away helped a bit but there was way too many of them. I eventually flagged a waiter down, and he shrugged at the flies. A minute later some candle flame thing came out saying that it will help with the flies but already that was too late as flies were all over the food and I lost my appetite at that point. It was disgusting. I just got up and left. Went to cashier to pay my bill. The cashier also shrugged at my fly incident, and I asked how much it was going to be. Full price. No consideration about bad operating environment and since they knew about the fly issue they didnt setup before food was served to control it better. Even after bringing it up again in detail, she shrugged again. No sorry or anything, just a brush off. Then to make it even worse she asked if I wanted to tip the service. I was in there for a few minutes, staff didnt help quickly or even pre-empt the fly issue, and I'm being asked to pay full price. Sorry but no thanks. How did this place get on the Michelin list? Service poor. Environment poor. Zero or negative star rating for me.

We took a taxi to this resort and while there asked how much this place was for a night in the hotel with all inclusive. They said it ranged from $350-500/night. Ouch! This place is a bit far from all of the action in Cabo San Lucas. Don't think I would want to stay so far away from all of the activities and fun, especially the arches. Anyway back to breakfast, we got to the counter and there were 4 hostesses running around in a confused manner with no organization whatsoever. There were people in front of us waiting to be put on the list, and after about 20 minutes we were finally seated. The server asked me what I wanted to drink? So I told him I wanted Mexican hot chocolate. He looked at me like I was speaking Chinese, so I pulled it up on Google and showed it to him. Strange that a Cabo native has never heard of Mexican hot chocolate, it is served in most places in the city restaurants of Cabo. Anyway we proceeded to the buffet and noticed a lot of the popular items weren't being replenished. I came back 4 different times to check and still the same empty plates remained. Food was decent, service was good, the price was only $20/per person. Do not think I would return as the places downtown were much better than this place just didn't have that large of a selection.
