I'll start by saying the food itself was good, I can't deny that. But what really left a bad taste in my mouth was the pricing. The red snapper (which honestly looked more like a mojarra) was $60 USD, which I find completely unacceptable. I understand Cabo is expensive, but this felt extreme. I don't even pay close to that back home. What also bothered me was how it was presented. The waiter came to our table with an iPad to explain the specials, something we didn't even ask for, and at no point was the price made clear. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that fish would cost $60, which ended up bringing our total bill to $150. For reference, we ordered: *One tortilla soup *One Caesar salad *One Cadillac margarita *One enchilada *And the fish Again, the food was good, but the lack of transparency and the extreme pricing really ruined the experience for me. Another visit to one of our favorite places in town, it would be a favorite in any town we'd ever visit from the staff to the Chef to the valet to the ambience. It is just a great spot. When we walked in today, it's like we had only been gone a week. Everyone wanted to hug, Benny, who threw my birthday party during the pandemic was the first one to come over and say hello. Our server was right there for everything needed plus the hibiscus Mezcal shots to end the meal. What gets me is the sauce that they serve with the chips is not a salsa it is a creamy wonderful dip. Overall we all really enjoyed our food and drinks here. We tried the ceviche (delicious), sashimi, Caesar salad (a must), shrimp and tuna steak. Also had the tamarind margarita which was great! I loved the vibe when we walked in, but they put us in a back room that wasn't quite the aesthetic as the front. Mix of hanging real and fake plants and a huge tv on the wall playing music from the Pokémon Movie soundtrack. Our waiter was over the top friendly, really trying to push items on us. We tipped a 23% tip, but his demeanor completely changed after we paid. Barely said a word to us and when we were walking out and said another "thank you", he just barely smiled; no words. That was what put a sour taste in our mouth about the experience. I will try again and hope for a better experience next time. read more

Hello or Hola everyone In 2024 I visited Cabo San Lucas in November there were so many restaurants. I felt my head spinning. I was scrolling down Yelp and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Do not be fooled by the beautiful exterior of the adobe thick walls and the bell which captures a slight history between Spain conquering Mexico. The interior or dining room was spacious displaying the sense of being inside of a Mexican home with a slight modern twist. When you enter you are welcomed by the open kitchen as well as chairs to sit and dine in front. The staff were similar to being a family all were friendly and emphasized the word of love in serving and cooking dishes. Food made and served from the heart is always delicious. Use to make this place a regular stop while in cabo but it has changed over the years and not for the better but still decided to try it again . I went with the "rib eye" tacos $36 USD and what i got was a small dish lined with lettus a bed of rice and about 3/4 cup of chopped meat on top. I say meat because it was not ribeye. I was never asked how i wanted it cooked and when it arrived it was grey inside and out. I made one small taco with it but it had such an awful unusual taste I couldnt eat any more . A manager/waiter aked me how everything was i said not good he asked why i said because the meat i got was not what i ordered. I have had rib eye hundreds of times and this is not rib eye he said "what is it" i said not sure hope its from a cow. He said we get our meat from Edith's as if he didn't know what they sent him and they thought it was rib eye They took it off my bill but not out of my mind or stomach . I must tell you what a great brewery it is, and how wonderful this place is. The beer selection is fabulous, and the food is fantastic, although this time we came there I only got oysters. They were small, beautiful, and they had a name I had not heard of, but they tasted similar to Kumamoto oysters. On the main strip but worth the walk or drive. Same owners as the office but off the beach. The food was awesome and the service was amazing. I've been a Michelin star restaurant and the service was better here. We started with a tuna sashimi starter. Delicious. We then had a pizza (which is better than most places in SoCal) with el pastor chicken and pineapple. I'd get it again We had the red snapper baked with garlic to finish off our massive lunch. My friends and I walked past La Pintada during a stroll around town and decided to come back for a late dinner after a Sunday sunset sail... and I'm glad we did! There were a few other tables occupied around 8:45/9pm when we arrived, with a lot of open space. For drinks I went with the standard margarita, which was pretty big and pretty tasty. It was refreshing, citrusy and just what I needed! My friend went with the blueberry margarita based on our waiter's recommendation and enjoyed her drink as well. When we were waiting for our dinner our waiter brought out chips and a tasty queso dip of sorts. I had to have a little sample and enjoyed it! For food I went with the Ramuri Salad, which included mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, pear slices, strawberries, figs, beet puree, and regional cheese with a sweet dressing (145 pesos). The ingredients were fresh and I enjoyed all of the components, although the dressing was too sweet for my taste, especially paired with all the fruit. I requested to leave off the cheese in an attempt to limit my dairy consumption but they must have forgotten. No worries, as I did enjoy the mild cheese and thought it went well with the strawberries, figs and beet puree. I'd probably choose the Greek Salad next time around for a more savory option. I had yet to order tacos while in Mexico, so I had to try out the Cabo Fish Tacos (295). The tacos included fresh tortillas (I asked for our waiter's favorite type), hierbabuena (mint??), cherry tomatoes, arugula, guacamole, cream, shredded cabbage and Mexican salsa. I requested the cream to be left off, in another attempt to limit my dairy intake. The tacos tasted fresh and were tasty! I ended up adding some of the table's guacamole and pico for more flavor. Yum. Both the guac and pico were perfect. The guac was served with pork chicharron for dipping so I avoided that. They brought out blue tortillas as well (not sure what those were for) but we were too stuffed to eat those regardless... I devoured my tacos but couldn't quite finish off my salad or the pico. My friends seemed to enjoy their Tortilla Soup (135) although they commented that the broth was a bit thinner than what we're used to in the PNW. After we were done eating we received little glasses of fruity mezcal, which I wanted to like but mezcal just isn't my thing. The interior is very casual and suitable for families. Service was good, everyone was friendly so no complaints there. I'd return if I ever find myself down in Cabo again in the future! read more

This place was PHENOMENAL! We had gotten the recommendation to come here from the pool server we had at our resort. We had told him we hadn't really had anything that "wow'd" us while we were her and he suggested here. They are part of a chain of other well known restaurants in the area, one of which was Edith's(which was also recommended by a fellow flight passenger, but we were unable to get a reservation during our short visit). You are greeted by someone outside to which they open the door for you. Welcome air conditioning! I'm not sure what my problem was during our trip but I thought I was going to self combust from the heat so any and all air conditioning situations we encountered were very well received! Ambiance is lovely, it's a mix of a few styles and nicely done. Our server Eliacid was very welcoming and gave us several recommendations in addition to showing us the tray that contained the visual examples of what was available. We had drank all day at the pool so we were wanted non-alcoholic and opted for the Candelaria drink-mango, passion fruit, mineral water, agave, and ice. Delicious!! The absolute perfect amount of sweetness and my favorite, bubbles. We didn't get any apps as we had a late lunch so we just ordered our entrees. The man ordered his Arrachera, and I got the Fish Tacos. Now here's where I was like "Say what?". These fish tacos where sea bass tacos. Yes people, sea bass! These babies were by far THE BEST fish tacos I have ever had. My husband was really tripping that I said that because I just don't Willy nilly the title of BEST like that. I had taken a picture of them but in my excitement of just the presentation, which in and of itself was excellent. Three tacos are served on a wooden board with three little baby mugs that contain, limes, pico, or a cabbage slaw(undressed). The tacos come topped with hierbabuena, cherry tomatoes, arugula, cream, guacamole, and salsa. Oh but wait, they are done on homemade flour tortillas, Lordy take the wheel. I'm not usually a fan of flour, except for quesadillas but this culmination of ingredients were freaking MAGIC! Hubs thought his steak was fantastic also. It came served on a layer of green sauce, a grilled nopal, the steak, and topped of with a quesadilla. That one I got a picture of -major eye roll here. Served with a side of beans and pico. We were told that the corn tamal for dessert was out of this world but sadly I was so stuffed I could not eat anything else. I am so bummed to not be giving this a better review! I was super excited to dine here for lunch. We arrived a few minutes after they opened on a Wednesday. We were thrilled to see oysters on the appetizer menu and excited to try some new beers. We ordered the oysters and were told they didn't have any. Then we ordered beer and he said they were out of every beer except two. Bummer to go to a brewery with not many beer options. The food was really good but it's overpriced. The service was very friendly. Just overall bummed out about menu options not being available. It was quiet and only a couple other tables while we were there. When you come to Cabo often you alway look for something different, some other place to eat, a place where you can have something other then Mexican food. Well look no further. After eating at all the usual places I was told about La Pintada it was a breath of fresh air. The chicken and fig salad was amazing and the tortilla soup was probably the best I've ever had in Cabo. The service was top notch... very attentive. Their drink menu is all authentic specialty drinks and super yummy with fresh fruit. This is a complete hidden gem right on the main drag of Cabo. This is a 4.8 out of 5. La Pintada is not inexpensive but well worth it. Must go and try!!! read more

The service was excellent and friendly staff. The ambiance was chill and I felt welcomed from the start. They even have a small area for kids to play inside. The best part is the food! Great Cesar salad that is made fresh at your table. The pizzas are awesome and Tuna Burger is made just right. Definitely try the corn cake and churros! The red snapper is delicious. We came here with family during our vacation via an Uber driver from our hotel and it was as if we were enjoying a feast at Mastro's in the states. Definitely will be coming back for more. This place was really amazing! We stopped in for a beer just looking to explore something a little more local than the all-inclusive resort and figured out quickly we'd stumbled across a real gem. Their beer was real beer! Crafted in the same fashion you would expect in the US, German or anywhere else. These ales were truly delicious and very welcome to us as we had been offered nothing but swill at our resort. We had a couple of appetizers both of which were incredible. We tried the Piglet Tostadita - Piglet, cabbage, cilantro, tomatillo and tomato sauce, avocado, bell peppers, sour cream and fresh cheese. and the Trio of Seafood - Tuna, shrimp and octopus, socarrat, organic vegetables and olive oil. Great service, amazing food, perfect environment. It's been more than twenty years when the family finally met together again. I can't describe in words how much fun we had. We spent more than an hour to wait for the family to arrive to the restaurant. Servers were in deed so patient since they couldn't even take our drink order because of the family greetings and hugs. I've been to La Pintada twice now, on two separate trips to Cabo. The first time was by accident, as my (extended) family and friends (a large group of us) had a hard time getting reservations into Edith's, a highly-rated restaurant in Cabo. As we were already outside Edith's and were about to leave for another place to have dinner, the Edith's managers chased us down and directed our taxis towards La Pintada, which just happened to be a "sister-restaurant" (same ownership) to the famed hipster crowded and packed Edith's. It was fortunate that we went along with the re-direction, and La Pintada did not disappoint. Similar to Edith's, La Pintada can be considered "Cabo fine dining", but a quick glance at the menu prices (in pesos) and you realize that the prices are still quite reasonable for what you get (good quality seafood, etc). Service is excellent, they clearly want your business. The waiters, servers and managers on both visits have been very accommodating, and even entertaining. On my second visit (with a smaller family group this time), the manager remembered us from our first visit 2 years ago. The ambience at La Pintada is more cozy and personal rather than bustling hipster. They have a large bar behind the dining tables, but I really can't comment on the bar scene as I have not witnessed their happy hour. They do have a large selection of craft beers, wines, and even a nice selection of non-alcoholic cocktail drinks. The seafood options were excellent, with the seared tuna (cooked like a steak, I prefer it medium well) and the sea bass being solid choices. These seafood/fish options are cooked with delicious marinades or accompanied by sauces that were spectacular on their own. Although I am not a fan of octopus, they do offer a grilled octopus entree that is highly recommended (and others in my family enjoyed it). They also offer "safer" menu choices like Margherita pizza, salads, burgers, and of course tacos (chicken, beef, fish). For desert, the tamal "corn cake" is absolutely a must, it's like a sweet corn bread, baked and served warm out of the oven, with the inside having the consistency of a custard, served with ice cream. Perfect for sharing with 2 or 3 people even if you're all full from the main entree. La Pintada is a very under-rated gem in Cabo dining! read more

On the street, looking for a good restaurant with a full bar, and televisions to watch the UFC fight. Stumbled across this place. Menu outside looked tempting and of course, typically Mexican custom...we were warmly greeted and welcomed to come in. We were seated right away. Greeted by our main server right away also. He was kind, funny, and personable. He took our drink orders right away and we were treated quickly with a treat from the chef while we waited for our server to return. The treat was delicious. Soon after our drinks came out, he took our order. Our server was very attentive to us. He even came out with a plate full of meats for us to see the cuts they had and the fish of the day. A tequila bar came by and offered us traditional tequilas. He offered a few as a sample and then the rest we had to pay. The tequila was smooth and delicious too!! Our meals came out pretty fast. Enough to digest your appetizer and not too long. These guys are on it! Plenty of tvs around the restaurant. Everyone has a good seat to watch the fight. This place is classy and the people who work here really take pride in their craft. Food comes out with beautiful presentation as well as a super tasty meal. I'd definitely come back here again. One of my favorites in Cabo for sure. Good food, good drinks, good ambiance, good pricing, and good service...can't beat that! read more
