We booked a room to stay in for the night of our wedding, I communicated we would be checking in late around 10pm. The owner said that was fine and that we'd be able to check ourselves in. The check-in instructions were vague "once you enter the gate"... we were not given a gate code. Naively, I assumed we might not need a gate code or it would be emailed to us closer to the date or the owner would message us with it. We pulled up to the villa directly after our wedding. The gate is closed and we have no code. Thankfully, someone else who was staying at the villa was behind our car and gave us the code. If he had not been there we would not have had anywhere to stay the night of our wedding, because the owner wasn't responding to my messages. Once we got inside, the room we were assigned had someone else's bags already in it. The man who gave us the code knew the owner's husband and called him out of the house. The person's bags were removed and he apologized for the mix-up. We were stunned by this entire experience but just wanted to turn in for the night in the room that we paid for. Really wanted to love this place because it is a beautiful property, but overall we had an incredibly disappointing experience. The rest of our stay there was fine, there is a kitchen available but in a shared area, for some reason I thought the kitchen included would be in the suite. The owner asked if we were going to use the hot tub so she could turn it on which was nice. But generally this place really lacks in customer service. For over $200/night you'd at least expect clear instructions to get into the place. read more

I had my wedding of 54 people here and I do not recommend this venue for future weddings. From the beginning of our meeting, I felt our wedding was only in Delyse's best interest and not both parties. My husband and I were under immense pressure to rebook our venue and luckily found Villa Riposo. Beautiful vineyards, property, and Airbnb rooms but through it all, I experienced immense emotional distress from seeing her come out every few minutes to turn down the music. It has taken me almost a month to fully heal from it all. During our wedding, her and her family was walking all over the property and her Yorkie was barking at the beginning of our ceremony. She promotes privacy in her Airbnb rooms but there was zero privacy whatsoever. I even saw an elderly family member moving our ceremony chairs - whether that was helpful or not, I hired people to do that. Delyse's contract was designed to protect herself and to maximize the money taken out of your deposit. You have to go through her preferred vendor, Pro Prop Events for chairs and rentals but Delyse's contract will state that the rentals must arrive and get picked up within the 8 hour window of your wedding date. As a bride, you want to make sure everything arrives on time, and it's stressful already with everything on your plate. Why do you need to have rentals come during the time you are getting hair and makeup done and you need to worry about gathering it all up in one place for pickup? Also, one of my aunts sprained her ankle near the ceremony bathroom due to insufficient lighting and nothing was done. #negligence From the time the ceremony started, she harassed our DJ to lower the music all the way until 10PM. When I say lower music, expect background noise! Basically, she prevented him from even speaking as our MC to the point that he was whispering! Half of our wedding guests could barely hear him and the music. Expect background music, not a huge dance party. Book Villa Riposo for intimate parties or micro weddings but not for any large parties. She threatened to pull the plug on our DJ if we decided to increase the volume. All in all, our guests did not enjoy her presence and she will control your wedding. There are other wedding venues in the area that may be more looser in their rules and Delyse should do better about accepting and declining weddings and events that do not fit her criteria. If you want to have your dream wedding, do not go with Villa Riposo - you've been warned. read more

I attended a wedding here a few weeks ago and while yes, it's a pretty vineyard and Airbnb - I definitely do not believe they should be categorized as a wedding venue. The moment my husband and I walked upon this property we were greeted by this tiny Yorkie dog that started growling at everyone that came onto the property. If I was renting this Airbnb "the whole entire place," I would not expect that the owner and their dog would just be free roaming the place. I already was so confused as to why the dog was loose & growling as the wedding ceremony was about to begin. The ceremony and cocktail hour was beautiful, more due to the planners and the bride/grooms execution but small things starting going wrong once cocktail hour was over - once seated for dinner we kept seeing the DJ not use his mic and even though it was an intimate 50ish person wedding - no one could hear anything. I literally thought it was because he forgot his sound system(?!) but I would hear it ever so often when he was announcing the bride & groom's entrance to only hear him go mute again. I only then put the pieces together when I kept seeing this woman with blond hair coming out to speak to him whenever his voice or his sound got louder than normal inside speaking voice. She was intentionally telling him to not make noise - AT A FREAKING WEDDING!!! We had a hard time hearing the speeches and it only got worse when the reception started, which was at 7pm - not even a late time of night, the sun was still glaring down. We could not hear the music, it literally sounded like elevator music the whole night and I saw this woman and her dog come out every 30 mins to an hour to speak to the DJ or just walk around the venue. As a guest I felt uncomfortable for the bride & groom, we all saw this continue to happen and tried to make it as fun as possible for them, trying to drink and silent disco our way through the night. Another guest even brought out a Bluetooth stereo to help, but then she came out and told him to turn it down! I honestly was at a lost for words. If you're going to advertise yourself as a wedding venue, think about what guests would need and want - this host should feel ashamed of herself. I feel sorry for our friends who were basically swindled by this "wedding venue/host" and probably have traumatic memories from this day. If you are looking for a wedding venue, this ain't it, sis. :( read more

Bait and switch. Owner would not send us a contract (to rent) until we booked with a deposit on VRBO. After the deposit was made the contract was sent requiring FULL payment by the next day in cash (Zelle), $2/4 million insurance policy (for them), $400 for disposing of any trash, $100/hr. fee for putting any chairs or furnishings back to their "exact" location upon our arrival, charge for any more than 1 roll of toilet paper or paper towels in the bathroom, $2000 security/cleaning deposit (if ANY confetti, balloons, anything left in place) that was worded such that they were going to keep the whole thing. CASH for the cleaning deposit in-advance also. She insisted that the "small" deposit be made on VRBO and the balance (of everything) be made to her personally in cash (Zelle) I'm assuming to 1. Avoid the CC fees & 2. Prevent the renter from disputing any charges (of which she has the sole right to determine). RUN AWAY!! read more

Getting married during a pandemic is a struggle! Delyse at Villa Riposo made our wedding so special, we forgot about everything else going on in the world. The venue is absolutely beautiful. There is no lack of natural gorgeousness with the rose garden, grape vines and landscape design. Delyse was so accommodating, she let me come by the venue twice before the actual event so I could make sure my childhood wedding vision came to life. She was always available to answer any random questions I had while planning. We can't wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary in this beautiful getaway. read more

Do NOT RECOMMEND! Stay away from this vineyards if you don't want an unpleasant wedding/ vacation. If you are planning a wedding, I would like to share my honest opinion with you. The owner Delyse was very rude, without manner, disrespectful and arrogant. Delyse talked to me like she was my boss. I simply got lost at the property and couldn't find where to park. She came and yelled at me with a horrible attitude. I explained to her that the direction she provided for check in was not clear and she didn't listen and only made me feel I was stupid not to understand her direction (other people in our party also found her instruction confusing!). I did nothing wrong or bad and do not deserve to be treated like this and belittled by Delyse. She should learn to respect people, be polite and listen to others. The property looks pretty from the outside but when you pay closer attention to the details, the quality of materials is poor. The worst part is that many of the facilities inside of the room do not work! The toilet doesn't flush properly, the electrical outlet doesn't work, the base board of the wall is loose (a tripping hazard). There is even a big spider web in the room. Parking spaces are very limited and hectic. If you are planning a wedding, you would want to have a pleasant experience and happy memories based on my experience with the owner Delyse and the poor maintenance of the facilities. If you choose this place for your wedding or vacation, I wish you luck and maybe have a better experience and hope that Delyse will not boss you around. But at this point, I highly do NOT recommend Hill Road Vineyards/ Villa Riposo! read more

DO NOT BOOK FOR A WEDDING! The venue is beautiful, yes, but the owner Delyse is very controlling and was basically a guest at our wedding. She was constantly walking around the venue and gave us 0 privacy for our special day. In addition, she reassured us the noise level would not be a problem because it never has been but... she lied. She kept monitoring the noise level and hovered over the DJ every ten minutes. So if you want to have dancing at your wedding, this isn't the spot. From the moment we signed the contract, her communication became very short. We simply asked her to take pictures of the venue and she wouldn't even do that and told us we needed to come and do that. She doesn't care about how your wedding goes, she just cares about collecting her money and that you don't mess up her venue. If you do decide to contract with her, read the contract carefully and negotiate this! She will nickel and dime you on the security deposit when the language is not definitive and based on "her word". She even told us that we would not be counted towards the overall guest count and yet at the end she went back on her word and charged us for ourselves when we are "hosting" the event since we rented her venue out. If you are at all considering this place, read the reviews below, they are consistently bad because of the owner. I really don't know how she sleeps at night knowing all of the people she has upset and taken money from, must suck to be so miserable and lonely. I have read all the reviews here and it looks like maybe in the beginning this was a good venue. But the same complaints echo through the events, disrespectful owner, dog running around and barking, being nickel and dime, no clear pricing, just whatever strikes her (the owners) fancy. I dont believe she even has a permit for more than the Air BnB. When checking to verify this, a permit could not be found. I attended one of the weddings that a review has been posted here and the most glaring thing I saw was no seating for guests on the patio! I noticed that the bride and groom had to provide their own seating, not just for the dinner but in general. The owner in her discussions with anyone was extremely rude and she allowed the obnoxious dog to run around where the guests were. The absolute worst thing that could happen, the wedding gifts disappeared! She accepted no responsibility for that. While it might look nice as a venue. please think twice about spending your special day here. Now I see that she has not returned the deposit. This is not a legitimate business, there is no adequate parking and no other arrangements made available to the bride and groom. Just a nasty, surly woman trying to cover her butt so she doesnt get caught! If you really want your wedding at a winery, go to a real one, Gugliemo is just around the corner! Met with the property owner Delise (sp?) after speaking with her using Air BnB for a few weeks, and continued speaking to her after her first cancellation (weather). We needed a place for our wedding, and she quoted us a price (will remain private for now), but when we got there, she raised the price to more than a few hundred dollars. We figured she completely forgot who we were since she seems lost on even her own details, and even forgot we had a meeting, which was evident since had no idea who we were after we told her. Regardless, after raising the price for a "partial" venue, she also told us the price of the compete venue, which she also raised the price by more than a few thousand. Please feel free to contact us for our AirBnB private messages between us an Delise, to show you of her potential price gouging or false advertising. As a man of principle, this wasn't cool at all. We had the opportunity to stay at this property through air bnb. It's a lovely place, with beautifully tended gardens and a sparkling pool and spa, complete with the relaxing sounds of a waterfall. Built in the style of an Italian countryside villa, you'll think you've left the United States for Europe in the blink of an eye. It has thoughtfully appointed rooms and the most comfortable, luxurious bed! The bathroom is stocked with plush towels and there is a coffee maker at the ready so you can enjoy your morning cup poolside. I rented the wine tasting room for a holiday party and it turned out to be a huge hit. The guests could not stop raving about the venue.
