Not good. Roach infested. Unbelievable. Won't stay there again. I didn't want to rent room with "roaches" for roomates.

I arrived late at night and headed to the bar for a quick bite. I was immediately greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders--I wish I caught their name. The whole atmosphere felt welcoming, like a place where travelers actually connect and feel comfortable. The food completely exceeded my expectations for a hotel. I ordered the sweet chili wings (extra crispy), and they were cooked perfectly--crispy, flavorful, and genuinely impressive. The bartender was attentive without being overbearing, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked better than you'd expect from a hotel bar. The room itself was extremely clean, which is always a top priority for me. In the morning, I came down to a fresh, delicious breakfast that was the perfect start to the day. Overall, this stay was easy, comfortable, and way above what I expected. I'll absolutely be staying here again whenever I'm passing through Gilroy.

Front desk seems to always be a busy signal even though they aren't doing anything. I don't recommend first floor. I asked for near elevator and lobby. I was placed next to the admin or business office. Not sure what it was but it was taped off and very noisy.

We started the trip with what I can say was a can't be beat resort stay here. We each had our own king rooms that honestly almost made me hate my own home. From the start of the stay pulling up to the security gate and getting greeted with so much energy and friendliness then being handed a rosemary bag to bring you into the mood. Immediately I knew I would love this place. The valets were great. The lobby staff were great. I was at the resort for two days and I swear I never touched a door to open. My room was ready early which was a bonus and the room. Again just great. Spacious. Ultra clean. All the amenities you could want. Fridge bar area. Fireplace. Sliding double doors to a private patio overlooking a fantastic golf course. Giant bathroom with separate soaking tub that was divine. I could review the golf all by itself. Super nice caddy Jack who it was a pleasure to spend the day working alongside and perfect weather because it can certainly get hot out there. We had a catered private lunch and then we had dinner in the bar area and everything was, you guess it, perfect. I will be back it's just a matter of when.

We also got the dark chocolate to snack on and that was good too. Beautiful winery and the grounds are immaculately clean. It wasn't very crowded which is nice and luckily we brought our low chairs to sit it. Just an FYI - I looked at the website before coming and it did say that they do provide folding chairs for their shows and we can bring our own as long as they are the low 4" or lower off the ground type and not the 14" ones from the ground with a built in cup holder which are the ones I have. Luckily my friend has the really low ones and she brought those. Much to our surprise they did not have any chairs on the grass set up at all - which was completely different than what's written on the website. So it was a good thing my friend brought hers. May be a good idea to update the info on the website so people coming to see shows here are aware of what to expect and come prepared. Thank you

We were a little concerned based on reviews we read but money was tight and we really had no choice but to stay here. There were no bugs. However, there was also no coffee pot, hair dryer, dresser, table, disposable plastic cups, ice bucket, ice machine, telephone, or anything resembling a decent lock on our door. Don't get me wrong, there WAS a lock on the door but it was the same kind of lock my older brother had on his bedroom door in the 1970s that anyone over the age of 10 could open with a playing card. I'm serious. It kind of sucked to have no table or dresser to put our clothes in/on. It would have been nice if there were a handful of hangers in the room so we could've at least hung some clothes up. Instead we had everything all over the floor. There were numerous homeless people in the immediate vicinity who were CLEARLY mentally ill including one woman who had the room next to us and came out one night accusing us of stalking her and threatening to call the police on us. We literally had never seen or spoken with her before this encounter. Now the upside. The toilet flushed with a TON of water which we loved and the shower was clean with great pressure and temperature and it had soap and shampoo dispensers in it. The manager (owner?), Bobby, is a nice man who runs the hotel with his father. He was very attentive when we told him about the crazy lady claiming we were stalking her however I wasn't very happy when he suggested he was going to keep $20 of my $50 deposit as a "cleaning fee" for the hair left in the room from our service animal. He quickly relented when I protested and reminded him that I had seen the messes some of his guests had left in their rooms and was certain our room wasn't anything close to the mess we had seen others make. All in all if money is an issue and you need a really cheap place where you can sleep and shower, The Oaks Motel is okay but don't expect anything fancy at all and understand that it is the cheapest hotel within 50 miles of Gilroy so you kinda get what you pay for.

Sam was on duty for the crazy parking situation because of the fireworks and was so helpful and generous. As a single gal I appreciated the welcome and texts to make sure everything was good. The room was fine, a little worn here and there, comfy king bed and nice set up with a couch and desk. Bottom floor was a little noisy, heard loud engines and loud neighbors. I would return for next year's escape/festivities..oh and they had free rootbeer floats from 8 to 10 pm for the 4th...nice touch!

Avoid This Hotel If…read moreI could give this hotel zero stars, I would. I booked a room with one king bed and a pull-out sofa, but when I checked in, I was given a room with only a king bed. When I called the front desk, instead of trying to fix their mistake, I was told I was wrong. There was no apology, no attempt to verify my reservation, and no effort to make things right. I was traveling with my wife and our two toddlers. Because the room didn't have the sleeping arrangements I reserved, my wife and children had to share the king bed while I slept on the floor. When I asked if they could provide a rollaway bed or any reasonable accommodation, I was told they would charge me even more for something that should never have been necessary. The night staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. When I asked for the manager's information, the employee refused to provide it and wouldn't even tell me his own name. That's not customer service--it's avoiding accountability. The only employee who treated us with respect was James the next morning. He listened, apologized, and provided the manager's contact information. Unfortunately, despite leaving my information, the manager has never bothered to return my call. To make matters even worse, I was charged more than the price I originally booked the room for, with no clear explanation. This hotel failed at the basics: honoring a reservation, treating guests with respect, resolving a problem they created, and following up afterward. Families should think twice before staying here because if something goes wrong, don't expect anyone to take responsibility. I will never stay at this Hampton by Hilton again, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you expect professionalism, honesty, or even basic customer service.

Trisha and Greg are wonderful people and really make a weary traveller more than welcome. We were sad to leave after only 1 night would love to have had longer here. We were so lucky to find the Joshua Inn that by the end of it we didn't want to leave! The owners, Greg and Trish, were so kind and hospitable during our stay. We would wake-up in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee just outside of our bedroom door with a delicious gourmet breakfast in the beautifully decorated dining room, and then end our evenings with a lovely glass, or two, of wine and a handful of goodies from the dessert bar located in one of the sitting rooms. The house if filled with lots of knickknacks that were fun to look at, Trish's little box of essential oils that you may smell, a variety of books you can thumb through while enjoying some time on the outdoor patio, and a television in the living room in case you want to just veg out. Our rooms, the Kuschel Suite and the Captains Quarters, were upstairs and offered a cozy place to lay your head down at night. My room, the Captains Quarters, was themed very much as you might think -sailor-esque -  with a queen sized bed and a small half bath within the room. My friends room, the Kuschel Suite, featured a spacious full bath with a lovely claw foot tub with a great water pressure rain shower. Since I didn't have a shower in my room, the Kuschel Suite and the Captains Quarters shared the use of the shower/tub. One of my favorite parts of our stay was their sweet dog, SUGAR BEAR! I just wanted to pick him up and cuddle him anytime he scurried by. He would come and greet you anytime you walked through the door, which is always nice. Greg and Trish are such wonderful people to sit and talk to. Their hospitality truly made it feel as if we were at home talking with our families around the fireplace. The Joshua Inn has so much character and I loved looking through all the history regarding the home. The name, Joshua Inn,  has so much meaning behind it of itself. It's the attention to detail that makes this place so special. This was my first time staying at a B&B and the Joshua Inn definitely set the bar high for all of the future B&B visits.
