Hair on shower wall that wasn't cleaned up

Everything was great except for the hair on the shower wall and the AC not working well. Staff is friendly, the place is beautiful, and breakfast was decent. I'd give it 5 stars if the shower was cleaned properly and the AC worked.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are friendly and welcoming! I usually stay somewhere nearby when I'm in the neighborhood but this time, I had my 89 year old mother-in-law in tow so I thought I'd get something less sterile. I found the Bristol online and thought it looked lovely. I was actually underwhelmed when I pulled up as the exterior is unassuming (but secure, well lit with plenty of parking). Once I walked in the lobby though, I was dazzled!! Every inch of the place was beautifully decorated! I wanted an early check in as my MIL was getting tired. The manager was very helpful and said he would get us a room right away, which he did! The room was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. I wasn't able to stream content on their tv though as I am used to doing at other hotels but that wasn't a big deal. I was able to use a hdmi cable and my laptop so she could watch her shows. Overall, I was above satisfied with our stay at the Bristol!

I'm rating this hotel for its location, cleanliness of the rooms, size of the rooms, comfort and its overall appeal. It meets my needs 95%. The staff at night is very nice and accommodating too. Parking is so convenient. Breakfast is ok. It could use some variety for people like me staying on a weekly basis for a few months for business.

    Lumpy Queen size bed

This is an older, perfectly serviceable hotel with a nice professional staff and large spacious rooms. Marble entryways and flooring. Plenty of statutes and paintings. Beds are lumpy but comfy (see photo). Breakfast is good. Hot coffee, tea, scrambled eggs, potatoes, choice of English muffin, toast, rolls, butter, cream cheese, cereals, milk, lots of fresh fruit, yogurt and granola.

I've stayed at Bristol Hotel basically every time I need to for work, and have had decent experiences up until now. Upon checking in and entering the room I'll be staying at for the next two nights, I encountered: 1. Used water bottle on night stand 2. Used bar of soap in shower 3. Used lotion sample (whoever used it left the bottle squeezed 4. Someone's leftover eye cream sample on the bathroom shelf 5. Toilet paper use (as in: not folded as if new and pulled out from use) 6. Bathroom door broken/unhinged 7. Bed cover ripped on the corner 8. Spit or dried up mucous on the painting next to the bed I immediately threw everything that looked used away feeling a bit disgusted. Not sure if housekeeping just wasn't paying attention to detail (since the beds were made and towels were folded new) but it felt like someone had been living in the room minutes before I walked in. I'm going to think twice about staying at Bristol Hotel moving forward. What a bummer.

This is the King suite. There are lots of stains on the carpet and on the furniture.

This place is old and does need updating. For the price you pay you do expect the rooms to be awesome and the customer service outstanding. I believe there were only five other guests staying in the hotel during our stay. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful until time for checkout. We were given a late checkout - Noon instead of 11. Right at 11:05 we got a knock at our door by the maid service reminding us that check out was at 11. We had to explain that we had an extra hour. It does not seem as though staff communicates well here because 25 minutes later we got another knock on the door. We did get out of there on time.

What a fantastic and Classy place to stay! The rooms were spacious, clean and wonderfully furnished! We felt like we were staying in a posh hotel in England with paintings of Royals on the walls, life sized Roman statues, and chandeliers all over the place! The price of our room was AMAZING too!

Came up and stayed here with my aunt who was up for treatment. It was a rough few days for her which required us to stay an additional night. The staff here was very accommodating and let us the additional night without a reservation. They provided us with a late check out the 1st day. 5 pm. Staff provided all the support we needed and we had everything we needed. The room was nice and comfortable for my aunt. We don't have one complaint about our stay here. Great place, great service and I would highly recommend. Thank you to the staff.

    Hallway w Victorian decor
    Ron Q.

I had a last minute trip up to San Jose this week and needed a place to crash overnight with an early morning meeting. I looked up hotels in the area and found the Bristol Hotel to be fairly inexpensive and close. So I went ahead and booked after looking around for anything compatible and finding nothing. There were less appealing places that cost more and offered less, so in that regard, I made out great! The inside of the hotel is quite luxurious if Victorian decor appeals to you. There are many chandeliers, paintings and sculptures throughout the building. Upon entering my guest room, I was surprised to see so much space. There is ample space in the room for an extra king sized bed if needed, but I guess it's a pretty good trade off to have extra, open space. The bed itself was decent, nothing fancy or anything. Basic mattress. Sheets were clean, or so it seemed. There was a nice long entry way into the room that had marble flooring. The marble also continued into and throughout the bathroom. There was an extra phone in the bathroom toilet area, but only one phone on the desk in the bedroom. That was kind or annoying as I was hoping to call to the front desk for something in the evening after I had just layed down. The website advertises a wine and nut reception in the evenings. However, upon check-in, I was told it was cancelled as this facility is no longer part of the Choice Hotel chain. The clerk was helpful and I appreciate him changing my room after I found that the original room I was offered faced the street. They do offer a free breakfast, business center/ computer in the lobby and workout room. The breakfast itself was kind of bland. The scrambled eggs needed salt and pepper when cooking to flavor it up. So did the potatoes. I added both and salsa to make it worth while. Bacon was cooked well along with over easy eggs, oatmeal. They also offered various cereals, fruit and yogurt. A decent way to start the day! If needed, I'd stay again. Just want to be sure they change their website so as to not mislead future guests. Keep on Yelp'n!

This place has been totally revamped since the new owners took this over. The old ratings and some of the other ratings that are on this hotel are totally incorrect based on what I experienced while here. I honestly think that some of the Yelp users chose the wrong hotel. I noticed when I searched for Townplace in Campbell, the Saratoga one popped up at the top and had I not clicked on that and saw that this was not the Campbell location, I would have reviewed the wrong place. Hopefully they can verify and fix the reviews. Anyways, kudos to the owners and managers for such a wonderful remodel and such a pleasant stay. The staff are welcome upon entering the hotel. This is a great place to stay either short term or for long term stays (I love mingling and asking questions and I was told that there are some that have lived here for months and even a few for years after selling their home). This place works with insurance companies for temp housing and I even noticed some local celebs walking in the hall. This Towneplace Suites is awesome and I am glad I visited. The owners really brought this hotel to the potential of where it should be. The hotel went through a complete renovation project that was finished in mid/late 2024. The hotel has so many amenities including breakfast, an activities area, a patio with BBQ that you can use, a washer/dryer room and a well equipped gym. They do allow pets for a fee as well. The rooms are of good size, each remodeled to a modern design. The lighting is decent but with the window, it adds enough light in the room where you don't necessarily need to use the lamps during the day. Each bathroom comes with Container Store organizers to make unpacking easy. The kitchenettes are fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots, etc. and if you need any appliances that are not there, you can ask the front desk to borrow them, including cookbooks! If you're bored, go borrower some board games and keep the kids busy. Or just sit and watch TV while sitting on the couch (which by the way converts to a sleeper). I saw that they offer studios, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom suites. Townsuites is very strict as to what is offered at the hotel so you get a great variety of choices during your stay. There are several types of milk (regular, 2%, oat milk, half/half, etc), multiple cereal brands, various hot breakfast items, and even a variety of toppings for the oatmeal. The little mart at the front desk has goodies to purchase that range from frozen dinners, water bottles, Pepsi, Starry and Mountain Dew sodas, candies, Lay's chips, and even Haagen Dazs and Baskin Robbins ice cream! There are state of the art water filtration stations where you can fill your own bottles, throughout the hotel. The hotel is located down the street from Downtown Campbell, which is filled with upbeat and trendy restaurants and located near The Pruneyard where you can do some shopping, eat and watch movies. Or go for a nice stroll on the Los Gatos Trail along the creek or take the kids to the kiddie park just a quick 2minute walk. Downtown San Jose and the upscale Santana Row is not too far either. If your not a local, these are the places you want to visit! I highly recommend staying here. I think you will be very happy based on my recommendation.

I found bugs and spiders in the bed, socks left behind from a previous guest, and sheets stained with various bodily fluids. I was told the room had been cleaned on 4/18, but that was clearly not accurate. I have added photos documenting everything. When I reported the issues, I was informed that no other rooms were available, so I had no option to move to a clean room for the night. I expected much better from a Marriott‑branded hotel.

So... Walking into a room that is 57 degrees is a bold choice for a hospitality brand, especially on a cold/muggy day. Oof. It took 60+ minutes for the heater to fight its way to 68, which gave me plenty of time to admire the 'well-loved' (rundown) furniture. The heater felt like it was working really hard, given how loud it was. The shower pressure was basically a leaky faucet with aspirations, and I'm personally not a fan of the drive-up-to-the-door style--I prefer my hotel rooms to not feel like a storage unit with a bed. Overall, it's a bit of a relic. Unless you really enjoy shivering while being lightly dripped on, maybe look elsewhere. Oh as a special bonus, it is really loud. The road outside is busy and you can hear everything and same with the people that were walking above me in the room above. Luckily they woke up at 5:30am to check out and took their sweet time walking back and forth. I should have looked at the reviews before I stayed here.

We chose the Residence Inn San Jose Cupertino for its proximity to the 280, and were pleasantly surprised to see it was centrally located in Main Street Cupertino (restaurants and dessert shops galore). Karen at the front desk was very welcoming, and upon learning we were on our honeymoon, sent up a surprise gift with a lovely hand written note. Our Studio 1 King, Sofa bed room was clean and spacious, and immediately earned our Poodle approval. Odd number rooms face the Main Street area, whereas even number rooms face the parking lot (something to keep in mind during check in). The true highlight was the restaurant's free breakfast, with a plethora of traditional breakfast options and additional items such as organic chocolate milk, fresh roasted potatoes, and various nuts. A few extra highlights included: late checkout of 1pm, pet relief area, and an expansive patio area which had plenty of couches, a fireplace, and tables.
