We stayed 08/09/26 for a concert. We chose early arrival 3:00 pm. But was told to wait because the room wasn't ready till 4:00 pm. Finally we got our key went to our room & it was 93 degrees. The air conditioning wasn't working. We let them know at the lobby and not much help. We left for dinner 1-2 hours later... the room is 91 degrees and it's so fresh outside. Such a horrible experience.

Booked this hotel for an overnight stay with a few coworkers to attend an annual work retreat. The staff was nice, the check in and out process was easy and the rooms were smaller than expected but adequate and cozy. Mini fridge, mid size flatscreen, remodeled restrooms and comfy bed. I got a good nights sleep. The food is very tasty. We ordered catered breakfast, lunch and dinner for the group over the 2 days. Everyone enjoyed it.

Great hotel, we got a double bed room and it was very clean and tidy. The toiletries were from NEST which I appreciated since they were high quality. Leaving 4 stars because of the parking situation, the valet was quite expensive. Staff was accommodating, would stay here if I visit San Jose again.

It was a good stay , only issue I had was finding the front door . You have to pull up to vallet and they then will let you in

Let me start off by saying we selected this hotel based on cost and photos. In retrospect I should have looked more closely on Yelp at the visitor experiences from the past. Had I done that they would not have been my selection. I purchased it through a search in Kayak and paid the fee for a one night stay for an event in San Jose. The impression I was given was that that included all fees. Upon arrival I noted several things, one it's not in the best area. This is reinforced by brass hotel entry doors that remain locked and can only be opened by inside staff or a room key. Parking is problematic forcing you to opt for the $48 valet fee (most definitely overpriced). As I checked in I was surprised to learn they needed my credit card despite having a paid reservation. At first glance I assumed it was a security deposit or maybe a deposit for a room with a stocked bar (wishful thinking though, no stocked anything). But was instead informed that it was a $17.00 "Destination Fee" as they were under the Hyatt Boutique Hotels. A quick google search yielded the following on the Hyatt site: To enhance your stay, a daily destination fee of $14.95 (subject to change) will apply to each room of your stay at Hotel De Anza to provide you with the amenities services. Let me start off by speaking about the amenities Hyatt must have been referring to. The lobby had a working elevator so I am grateful for that amenity. Secondly, the shower and toilet were working and I am grateful for that. but that is exactly where the amenities end. There was no breakfast, not even a muffin or coffee I might get when I stayed at a Sleazy Eight hotel paying 1/3 of the cost. They did however have a small overpriced cafe if I wanted something to eat. The room had NO MICROWAVE, but I could travel 6 floors down to the lobby to use the one they had there (does that count as an amenity?). There was also no room safe, and while I didn't need one I have seen them in cheaper hotels in better areas of town. The air conditioning unit was what you might find in an apartment built in the 1980's a full wall exhaust port into the room with a noisier than desired result as you tried to sleep on a mattress that would chip a tooth if you tried to jump onto the king sized bed. And no I am not exaggerating, the mattress was exceptionally hard. The decor was a roaring 30's montage of women actresses, singers and dancers that gave it a somewhat bougie if not debauchery ridden appearance spread across hotel and room artwork as well as the room door numbers. The wireless service in the room felt like 1990's 2400 baud modem speeds that made web browsing tedious. The rug in the room looked like it had texture at one time as I could see the texture patterns on the other area of the room but the high traffic areas were worn down making it appear dingy and unsightly. It probably sounds like I am needlessly picking apart this hotel but when a one night stay approaches $300 in a hotel that is that disappointing I just wish I had stayed at any reputable hotel and paid $300 for a truly all-inclusive experience that lacked a DESTINATION FEE for "Amenities" that are simply the standard of a good hotel. I still have no clue what amenity that destination fee alluded to as the stay was that disappointing. I will never stay there again and strongly recommend you forgo the same disappointment.

Anyone try booking wedding space and how was your experience?

Does anyone know how long til they give the 100$ deposit back? Or do they even give it back?

Hi, If it's a deposit they should return your money within 10 days. If they don't then I would be proactive and call them and ask them. They're pretty reasonable folks

The location was unbeatable since everything we had planned was on Santana Row. Restaurants, shopping, Westfield Valley Fair, and the Winchester Mystery House were all within easy walking distance. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, the property was beautiful, and the complimentary sangria at check-in was a nice touch. The bed was also one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in. Just be aware that this is an upscale hotel with upscale fees. Early check-in before 10 am is $100, early check-in by 1 pm is $60, and valet parking is $60 per day with in-and-out privileges. We arrived around 9:30 am but decided to wait until check-in since the early check-in fee wasn't worth it for us. We came back around 2 pm and were pleasantly surprised they checked us in at no extra charge. We also skipped valet and parked in one of the nearby garages for about $15 per day. We'd definitely stay here again and next time book a longer stay to enjoy it even more.

We were traveling from San Francisco and took Caltrain before switching to the light rail to get to our hotel. The best surprise was that the light rail stop was literally right in front of the hotel! I had no idea when we booked it, so that was an amazing convenience. The downside to being that close to public transportation is that you can definitely hear it. In the mornings, we could hear the buses and trains arriving, along with the beeping sounds they make. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but if you're a light sleeper, it's something to keep in mind. The room was the perfect size for my daughter and me. We were both able to spread out and actually unpack all of our things, which felt especially nice after staying in a micro-hotel for the few days before. The bathroom was also a good size and everything felt very clean, which is one of the most important things to me when staying in a hotel. I want to feel like I'm in a clean, safe space, and this hotel definitely delivered on that. One of my favorite features was the blackout curtains. When you pulled them all the way down, they blocked out all the daylight. You could honestly forget what time of day it was! They were absolutely perfect for those vacation afternoon naps. The location was probably the biggest selling point for us. Not only were we right next to public transportation, but so many things were within walking distance. We didn't realize when we booked that we were staying in an area with a lot of bars, but thankfully it didn't feel like an overly rowdy or drunken area. We walked about 20 minutes to the SAP Center for a concert and then walked back to the hotel at night, and we felt completely safe the entire time. We were also able to walk to two different restaurants that we really enjoyed, and there was even a little mini-golf place nearby that we wanted to try. Unfortunately, the hours never worked with our schedule, but it was nice having so many options close by. After coming back from the concert around 11 p.m., we were even able to stop at a cookie shop and an ice cream shop for a late-night treat before heading back to the hotel. The area was still busy with people at the bars, but everyone we encountered was friendly. Another convenience was being able to leave our bags at the hotel after checking out while we went to brunch before heading to the airport. That made our last morning so much easier. One slightly odd thing is that the hotel is connected to a restaurant, so you need your room key to access the lobby restrooms. After we had checked out and were waiting for our ride to the airport, we needed to use the restroom and had to go back to the front desk and ask for a key. It's a small thing, but it would have been nice to know beforehand. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the blackout curtains were fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the location was incredibly convenient. Being able to take public transportation directly to the hotel and then walk to restaurants, the concert venue, and other things around downtown made our trip so much easier. For a trip where we were trying to get around without constantly using Uber or a car, this was a great location.

The front desk staff was nice but a little pushy as if I was holding them up although there was no one else in the lobby. The onsite restaurant was nice as the front desk gives you two tickets of a discount for two drinks. The rooms were enough as I said for a business trip but not as a place for a family spot. The elevators were pretty cool and unique as it's a digital tablet where you can preselect which floor you need to go to before entering the elevator.
