We stayed here after a day at California's Great America. Om checked us in with no hassles. He was personable and friendly. I live life with my service dog and this place was great. No issues and a potty area right out the side door. Note, this place is also pet friendly. We got a kingsize room 332. The room, while smallish was very well appointed and didn't feel claustrophobic. The bathroom was nice and clean. The water pressure was a little lackluster but, it did the job. I appreciated the laminate flooring and it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The AC blower wasn't the blowiest of blowers...but the room was a comfortable temp. The bed was very comfortable. I usually have bad insomnia and hotels can be the bane of my existence. I had no problem sleeping in this bed. There was a microwave and mini fridge in the room that each did their jobs. I was checking out a nd writing a note tobthe manage Jesus about how great Om was when a woman ripped into the lobby saying there's a racist white man in the parking lot that just slammed his door into her car. Om excused himself to go see what was going on. I recognized the woman as being in the vehicle next to ours. I was rather gobsmacked at the accusation that my hubs is racist. I'm not white.. lol. Turns out he bumped his elbow on her mirror as he was trying to load stuff into the car because she was parked all crooked. Om calmed her down..and apologized profusely to us. Apperantly she lives in the parking lot? And goes nuclear on at least 1 customer a day. Today was our day I guess. Jesus, of you are reading this, I suggest yall do something about her before she causes you some real issue. I s till gave 4 stars because everything else was great. Not sure what all the negatives reviews were about from prior guests. But my experience at M6 Gilroy was the best from an M6 I've ever experienced. This location, and my room, was clean and better maintained than I initially expected and I've been to some super run down and awful M6 locations. First, the fact that it was an enclosed hallway type location was new to me. Much better. And the fact they had a decent sized frig and microwave - even better. No carpeting which was a major plus. Pleasant staff and the grounds area was well-kept with no vagrants. Also pretty quiet. Seems a significant dayworker population. Pretty rural area. Reasonable day rates in my opinion. read more

Okay don't expect much... I never do and who does from a motel 6?! We only did motel 6 because they allow dogs free of charge and it was on the way up to Northern California, and we came in late- like around 3am and just needed a cheap place to sleep for 6-7 hours. The room was decent. The lady at front was nice. Check in was easy. I do like how this motel 6 is like a real hotel, with a lobby and elevator. Normally the rooms are outside and you can hear everything and not really secure. Bed was okay, AC worked, towels were stiff, room clean. The blankets are a big thin and not puffy. Bathroom was quite old and gross. Also just because this one is in the bay, it's about $100 a night when you can get a motel 6 near a beach in San Diego for $60 a night. read more

Check in is at 3. I make a reservation early in the day and show up at 4. As soon as I walk through the door, I'm ignored by the two people at the front desk, one of whom is the manager. She's on the phone taking a personal call telling the person on the other line to "walk across the street and leave her alone." I try to check in and am informed that none of the single rooms have been cleaned yet... Remember, check in is at 3 and I've arrived at 4... I then ask the guy at the front desk if I can use the restroom because I've been driving for awhile and really need to go. He informs me that they don't have public restrooms. I have no desire to use a public restroom. I'd like to use the one in my room - the room I reserved 5 hours ago but somehow still hasn't undergone a basic cleaning. We got the room with a kitchenette, it was nice at first but then we noticed a ton of ANTS! We weren't leaving food out either and we always cleaned up after ourselves...it was disgusting! Their elevator permit is expired BTW and hasn't been inspected for over a year...doesn't sound safe either! Front desk wasn't very nice but also not rude. They weren't much help with the ants. Dear Ceo of Motel 6 I/m writing this letter in regards to my visit with your hotel in Gilroy located at 6110 Monterey road, Gilroy, ca, 95020    I called 1 week before and made a reservation after looking around for a long time at other hotels. I then when talking with your customer service at your location on the phone and we talked about how we had triple AA and if it was honored, I then was told yes the rate was $130 but with my triple A rate that I could use the rate and it would be $99.00 dollars and with tx it would be $104.00.At this time I was believing that I was going to be given this rate , so I booked two rooms at this rate, left my credit card and said Thank you. I then shortly received an email with the hotel information and kept for when we were checking in not looking it over, thinking it was all taken care of , On Saturday the June 17, 2023, I went to check in with the manager Jesus Maqueda and he asked for my ARP card. I told him I did not have an ARP card and was told my reservation was using a triple A card. At this time the manager, Jesus, told me he would not offer the rate of $99.00 as promised and he would not have to charge me the $130.00 rate for two rooms. This made me so mad I asked for the manager to please honor what I promised and give us our rate. I also told the manager Jesus,  how I don't appreciate making a reservation a week ago and lied too . The manager said the email said ARP in which it did but was not what I signed  up for and I never had a conversation about this. The manager Jesus did nothing at all . He said we can cancel and go to another hotel if I wanted , in which I was told how unprofessional it was to speak to us like this as a manager. At this time I was so tired and wanted to take a nap so I had to just deal with the $130 charge for each room. This was not ok and to make me feel this way.'' Then I wanted to suggest why do you not have the following items to offer at your hotel to make it better? A- extra pillows  B-heated pool  or hot tub C-keeping up with maintenance in the rooms , had broken door handles to bathroom and doors D-having coffee pot in the rooms E-The Wifi was so horrible that I was unable to make calls to sitter for my dogs and my family to let them know we arrived safely, We only got to do 2 calls the whole time and could not call out, no bars, no internet and could not make reservations for dinner ., This was uncalled for . I would like a call back about why we were treated this way and not taken care of after your company and employee messed up the reservation and then we got screwed when checked in . Are you able to refund our rooms or do something in place of this? I did ask the manager but was told he couldn't do anything. This was not comfortable at all. I would never come back to this place again and I will be writing a review too higher up and online .I was also told that I would receive an email on Sunday and never did . Have never stayed at a Motel 6. I have to say my stay was pleasant, customer service was great. I had to check in early and they allowed me to. It was clean, the room was decent. My family and I liked it. The dilemma was our ac wasn't cold enough. I did have an issue because I called two weeks prior and the attendant couldn't do much for me and made me feel as he didn't give a dang about what my situation was. Decided to call another day and they understood and let me check in early without it being a big deal. I recommend this location if you are on a budget and just plan to sleep. For some unknown reason, I was assigned a handicap room. I am not handicapped by the way. This room had the barest of necessities. The shower was an open area with a curtain which would work for the handicap but not for me. I felt as if I was in prison cell. No carpet. No small coffee maker, no bed spread, no breakfast offerings etc. Next trip I will spend the extra money and stay at a Hilton or Marriott. I guess you get what you pay for. Lesson learned. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this motel. It is dirty. There are homeless people all around. I did not think my car was safe. They charged me $180.11 for a room. $100 was a deposit they said, but I had a feeling they would keep my money and they did. They said I stole pillows. There were two pillows when I got there (for two beds) and two pillows when I left. The pillows would cost $10 to replace. People were rude. I'll never go to Gilroy again. read more

Door lock would not work - Rust in the bathroom - smelly towels - no shampoo or body wash - no hairdryers / iron - their beds are a killer in a bad way ... I woke up with back pain. The two stars are for the front desk crew who were super friendly. The funniest thing is their coffee bar ... they advertise that they have free coffee in the morning. I get their and they have two pots both were empty and they were completely out of sugar. It has the new, modern Motel 6 decor. Some things are good about it: The floors are now laminate, instead of disgusting old carpets. There's a modular tub/shower combo with a grab bar (but no non-skid finish, so I was glad I had my shower mat), and plenty of hot water. The air conditioning-heater unit worked very well. The place is pet-friendly, there's lot of parking, easy freeway access, and free coffee in the morning. Sandy's Cafe is right in front (good Yelp reviews) but is open only for breakfast and lunch. All rooms are accessed from interior hallways, and there is one elevator (albeit a very slow one). It's too far to walk to downtown and food options, but many restaurants, shops, gas stations, and the transit station (local buses, Greyhound, and Caltrain) are a short drive away. Easy to get to San Jose and San Francisco and points in between. The platform bed was welcome because it was a normal height. I am tired of hoteliers trying to outdo on another to see who could make the tallest bed possible. There's a wall-mounted large-scale high-def TV with a charging station with many different plugs (see photo). The laundry room on the second floor has 3 washers and 3 dryers, $2 each in quarters. Quarters are available from the front desk, as is laundry soap etc. for a small charge. There are two microwaves in the laundry room. The toilet dripped loudly. I could still hear it even with the bathroom door closed. Management was quite responsive, first trying a repair. When that didn't work, they immediately installed a new toilet. I found management and staff to be friendly and helpful. Not so good: The hard wooden chairs were very uncomfortable for a short, round person like me. (I believe they're a classic design, but that doesn't mean they're comfortable.) The edges cut badly into my skin. I folded and draped a bath towels over the seat, which helped a lot. No fridges or microwaves in rooms. No closets, but instead a few open shelves and hangers above on hooks. All furniture is wooden and everything except the chairs is bolted to the walls. Hard to watch TV while sitting at the table. The mattress slides around easily on the platform bed. Pillows are thin, and so are the walls. Easy to hear noise from adjoining rooms and from the hallways. Friday night I had loud drunk partiers check in next door at 12:30 am. The bathroom sink had only a spray option and I seemed to only be able to get either a weak output or a strong spray that ended up all over me, the counter, and mirror. Water from tap smelled funny as it came out but was okay to drink (no funny smell or taste). I did not use the WiFi but heard lots of people complaining about it. The laundry room is hot, there's nowhere to sit in there, and drying takes an hour. (You'll need all that time if you have a lot of denim.) The TV channel options were disappointing. There is something for everyone (e.g., news, reality shows, kids programming, two HBO channels) but it's more limited than it sounds. For example, someone (not me) who wanted to endlessly watch Duck Dynasty or Kardashian episodes would be in heaven. There seemed to be lots of channels like this. But I couldn't watch the Tour de France or the US Women's Open (no GOLF channel), for which I was volunteering. Since it was a high-demand time, prices were up a bit. I paid about $99/night. There do appear to be many male workers living there, but I never had an issue with any of them. read more

Ok this will be a long easy review because there are no positive words to describe this Motel 6. Disgustingly dirty and when I say dirty I mean blood stains on the sheets dirty, so we suggested new sheets from the front desk. Nope they will do you one better and get you a new room but this room was worse then the first one. Fecal and Urine stains on the toilet seat and under the rim! In the time of covid when we are supposed to be disinfecting everything noooooo! not this motel. So that's the bathroom let's move on to the the beds. I think they were on crates. Nothing fancy about them and ok for comfort. Now for the clientele, there was a lady with like 5 dogs staying in the room down the hall the side of the hotel where the 3 doors that should be locked are broken so anybody can just come into the hotel. It was like a 24 hr party at the hotel, we can hear everything on both sides of us doors slamming kids crying people blasting music outside in the parking lot. Sooo when you see a 2 star rating or $64.00 a nights, and think how bad can it be! It's that's bad, so no matter how tired you are, I'd pay double the amount and find a better place then here. read more

California Trip Take Two #2 Motel 6 (M6) epitomizes cheap accommodations throughout the United States. Normally, I would run away from such a place, but I had a great experience at this M6. With that, I had to share with others. *Great service! The staff at the front desk and the housekeepers were always courteous and friendly. *WiFi--When I checked in, I was told that I would receive complimentary free wifi for the first night. The next day I went to pay for the second day, I was simply given the password and no charge. Same thing happened the third day. The wifi worked really well for me--I was able to stream Netflix without a problem. *I really love the look of their rooms, and I especially like the fact that all of the floors are wood laminate instead of carpet (which helps with the bedbugs!). *I know the TV was a nice, flat screen, but I can't tell you more about it since I never turned it on. *Fantastic location! This M6 is located right off Highway 101, has Sandy's Diner next door, and close to tons of stores and restaurants. *I always felt safe there, and my rental car was never touched. Honestly, I don't know why people are complaining about this place. You're staying in California for $73 a night--what do you want?? M6 is nothing fancy, but I slept great! Very dirty! I came into the room and the smell was musty. I tried to stay but couldn't when I saw the mattresses they have in the room. I attached pictures. There was no toilet cover and the toilet didn't flush properly. The staff was nice when I brought the issues to her attention. I walked out of the hotel and the very next day I called the hotel supervisor and manager but they refused to issue a refund. Call your bank and place a stop payment request if this happens to you. I am disappointed. My mom, and I stayed here once before, years ago. I think it had just been built. It's really gone downhill. On the plus side, the staff is very nice. It's clean. There's an elevator, and there are interior corridors. There is Internet. Not a lot of interior noise. Note: I use a walker, and it is not super lightweight. We got checked in ok. No accessible rooms, but a double on the second floor. Of course while we were at dinner, the fire alarm went off, and the elevator power was cut off. Lady at the desk was apologetic, but not terribly concerned. As of checkout today, the elevator is still broken. The elevator was the main reason we chose this place. Many of the screens on the windows are partway off, which was a little alarming. The Internet is free, but spotty. It will likely drop you. Bottom line, it a clean, and adequate place to sleep if you are able-bodied. I wouldn't recommend it if you are disabled. If you do it, make sure you get an accessible room. read more

The front office had a graphic sex scene, complete with moaning, playing at check-in. Later, when we asked for pillows that didn't have huge holes with the foam coming out, we were told they had no other pillows. This motel listing is extremely misleading, and I will not be staying at another Motel 6. One would expect a simple, no frills motel, but with basics that are expected at a decent motel: a clean, safe, semi-comfortable place to sleep. Instead, the floors are filthy and the rooms are tiny, with not so much as a hotel map, Bible, or even a picture on the wall. There is no cheap coffee maker or shampoos...not even a bottle of water or an ice bucket. The bed feels like concrete, and has sheets that look like they've been slept in, with a thin fleece, instead of a blanket or comforter. If one wanted to use the pool, they would find it unheated in the back of the creepy, unlit parking lot. The gate doesn't close, so one would be left exposed and vulnerable. And when coming back in the door they came out of, they would find, dripping wet and cold, that the key doesn't let you in that side, and that you have to walk around that dark parking lot to get to the main entrance in order to get back in. read more

The only real complaint about this hotel is the cleanliness of the beds. the sheets were COVERED in hairs and cigarette burns. The beds were not comfortable, cheap mattresses and scratchy sheets. I asked for a one bed for me and my one year old, they said they only had two beds available. At a rate of 140$ per night. After requesting a non smoking room, the room they put me in and the entire floor smelled like cigarettes or chlorine. After 20 minutes I made a request for a refund, and they told me no. The cheap rate isn't worth it. When we went to check in the front desk required everyone's ID that was staying in the room ,which we didnt know ahead of time so my friend had to run back out to get mine, which not the end of the world, but maybe putting that in the confirmation email that you needed it would be helpful. The kicker here is that we reserved a room 6 months ago and when we got there to check in they only had one room left and it was recently painted so "there might still be paint fumes". My friend and the woman checked the room out and it didn't smell that bad so we decided to stay. Maybe don't overbook your hotel when you have people with reservations..especially when their policy is to hold the room until 7am the next day before letting it go. The beds were hard as rocks, very uncomfortable. The room floor was FILTHY! We walked around with bare feet for the first 10-15 minutes and our feet were black so we had to wash them and wear our sandals the rest of the time in the room. I did check the beds for bed bugs and they were clear of that thank God. We were told at check in the only doors that we could enter were the front doors, the side doors were locked so you couldn't get back in them. Both the locks on each door didnt work so anyone could have come in the motel. There were also people out in the hallway yelling at 5am. Overall I'd say look elsewhere. The cheap rate isnt worth it. This hotel is mid. Customer service could be a lot better. And expect to pay a $100- $150 deposit using cash or card. Some staff will charge you the $150/$100 and other staff won't. If you expect to do your laundry here, there is only one washer and two dryers if you are lucky (around $5 to wash and dry) but also know that the lint holders are full of bugs and Lint (probably have never been cleaned out from the looks of it thus why they are always "out of order"). Thr vending machines are also always out of order, out of stock and $2,50 for a 20 oz soda/$2.50 for a candy bar. A lot of stuff needs to be updated and or cleaned. The hallways smell of smoke and from being in the hotel for about an hour I have already received three bug bites laying in the bed so do with the info what you will. The blankets are very thin but you do have AC/ heater. You think they would have soap amenities in the bathroom but you get just a bar of terrible soap that dries your skin out. If you really need soap maybe you can take your chances at buying a tiny bottle from the vending machine for $3-$5 if it works. Lol. In a nutshell price of the hotel including the deposit does not reflect the quality of this hotel. Lucille at the front desk was very friendly, asking if I enjoyed my stay, and even chatting with me while I waited on coffee to brew! While they were off getting married one of the many local tweakers broke into their room through the window (opened the window and took off the screen), stole her keys and her car. Even though we had police reports and insurance claims the communication was terrible and Motel 6 dicked us around for months, then finally was gracious enough to only give us the deductible our insurance company didn't pay. They have no security, they are not well lit (They DONT leave the light on for you), their camera footage is terrible or non-existent, and you are on your own if something happens, corporate doesn't care about this place, SO YOU HAVE NO PROTECTION. Terrible place to stay! General manager pounded on the door, came in the room without approand harassed my son telling him he had to vacate the room immediately! He is a minor & they harassed him rather then calling me his mother even though they had my phone number! I had made a reservation for a week which someone at the motel changed and then they tried to kick him out for no reason!! We had not caused any problems and I had a verified reservation and proof on my email of a week's reservation.! The general manager then lied about what happened and was belligerent! She thinks she's a big shot because she's a manager! Don't stay here! They're crazy and very unprofessional!! My coffeemaker in the room was dirty with mold in it! Location was easy to find and checking in was a bit unwelcoming as manners from young staff did not start off great, once I got into my room I make sure I check the whole room and lucky me my room had its window spring broken/out of slot so I took a picture and told front desk about it but waited until after I left my room I even told them it's ok to go fix right away.. as well as one of the cabinets were making a loud noise Plus the glassware in a coffee mug fell right out catching it in my chest. Luckily they were forks.. and No iron nor iron board...(had to ask front desk). And I guess the only door to go inside was the front main door with 3 other doors around the building. Did like that I had my kitchen set up and wash my glassware I bring But no instructions on electric stove? My little one wanted to go swimming so I said what the heck lets go. We passed the room of broken vending machines on our way to the elevator when I noticed another oddball (tweaker?) hanging at the end of the hallway in the window talkin to himself. As my daughter swam in the pool (clean n empty) I had a smoke and checked out the back parking lot a tad closer. There were several abandoned cars in lot. You could tell because they were filthy and full of trash and the recent re-pavement of the lot seemed to work around them. Weird for sure. After swimming we passed the hallway freak again and past a drunken fight in a room a few doors down. As soon as we got to our room my son tells me "dad the AC don't work" I called the front desk and was told that someone would come look at it "tomorrow". So we opened up the windows to cool the joint down and were greeted with the Gilroy smell....garlic! I liked it but my kids did not. I online booked my room here at $75 a night for the Gilroy Garlic Festival. The Wifi was an extra $3 and it worked just fine. The room was clean and functional, the shower was hot, the cable was there, and when there was an issue, somebody came up within minutes to fix it. There was coffee waiting for me in the lobby each morning, and smiling friendly staff to answer all of my questions. The highways are close by, and there are several restaurants within a short driving range. But if you want to stay close and walk, there's a diner (Sandy's Cafe) right in the same lot that's got some damn fine breakfast specials. All of you "I'm better than Motel 6" bluebloods can go right next door and book a room at the Marriott for nearly $200 a night if that'll make you feel better. Or maybe go and buy a house in Gilroy. Regardless of your opinions, thoughts & ideas, I'm going to continue to stay at Motel 6 on my travels. read more

I stayed here in April 2011. I will not be staying here again. The neighbors were loud (worse than usual sound insulation, even for the Motel 6 brand). The people in the hallway were loud. All were obnoxious, but not really to the level of activity that the hotel could really do anything about. But it was not a pleasant night. Upon checkout, however, I grumbled and the desk clerk basically told me tough cookies, they were full. ATTITUDE was the problem. I got a survey, filed it out with that, and received a note that management was sorry and they'd send me a voucher for a night's stay. I wasn't going to stay there again, ever, but it was a nice gesture. However, I just found that email again and while the voucher was promised "within 15 days", it has not arrived over 90 days later. Customer service fail on so many levels - there is really really now no way I'd stay at this property again. The property is convenient to the highway, which makes it more likely to be full and full of obnoxious travelers. If you find yourself stuck here - make sure you have ear plugs. read more

No. If you only take one thing from my review, it's the word "no". We had made a reservation over a month in advance. When you make your reservation, it gives you the option to select smoking or non-smoking. We chose non-smoking. When we got to the motel to check in, they said they didn't have any non-smoking rooms and could only give us a smoking room. Then, they added that they could put us in a non-smoking room that didn't have a/c. We opted for the smoking room with a/c, thinking that we could blast the a/c with the window open to air it out if needed. We just wanted to make sure we could sleep in a comfortable temperature. We got to the room and it wasn't overly smoky. We used the restroom but quickly figured out that the sink didn't work. The sink dispense mist, not water. The sink in the kitchen couldn't turn on without me feeling like I would end up pulling the faucet out of it's fitting. So, we did all of our washing in the shower. We left to go out for dinner. We came back and the room was not one degree cooler. The "a/c" was really just a fan. The thermostat read 90 and never moved. The only way to cool the room was to open the window and door to get a cross breeze of cool air. Note that the windows don't have any screens. Just wide open from the third floor. Because it wasn't cool enough by the time we went to sleep, we left the window open and prayed that nothing would fly/climb into our room. The bed felt/looked like a characteristically sketchy motel bed. But it didn't have any visible issues. Just really old. The room came with a kitchenette - a sink, fridge and mini-stove. There were no toiletries, just soap for the sink and bath. The towels were gross. They were old and a couple had some nasty hairs on them. The bath towel was slightly bigger than the hand towel. I needed to do a bit of work and opted to drive to a Starbucks for free WiFi instead of paying money for Internet that I couldn't guarantee would work. The sole good thing about the motel was that they allowed us to check out a day early with no question. Funny observation: As we checked out, they didn't ask us how our stay was.
