Stopped here for the first time, after reading great Yelp reviews, and wow were we impressed! Love the "kitschy" home feel, and sat down to nicely set tables. Absolutely the best restaurant ever. The chef was fantastic made slight changes to each order per request. It's like going to your grandparents home with all its cozy pictures, carpet & elegant tables. This is restaurant that serves a meal that should be $50+ value for the price of Cracker Barrel meal. We were here to assist with after hurricane damage & deliver supplies. It was great to find this hidden jewel of a restaurant. Please don't miss out on one of the best dining experiences there is. This restaurant is amazing. As our friends said, this has to be the best kept secret in Conroe. Veal was amazing with rich cream sauce and shrimp the freshest I have had in ages. This is probably one of the all time weirdest places I've ever been for food. It's a haunted house type of spot that someone turned into a restaurant. I was so confused pulling up to it. We ordered 7 spaghetti and meatballs and 1 fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. All the pasta was the same. The pasta itself... maybe they don't know that they're is a difference between spaghetti and fettuccine pasta? Bizarre. The fettuccine alfredo sauce looked and tasted like Elmer's glue. A sticky, thick, gloopy, white mess. The spaghetti sauce tasted fine, but we asked for extra meatballs on one order, and they put it on all 7.... just a jumble of confusion and twisted, sloppy mediocre pasta. The one waiter they had was nice, but he was so confused and slow...it just made for an extra strange experience. read more

I came here with my coworker. He had been here before, it was my first time for me. When you pull up it's really small and quiet. I'm a super picky eater when it comes to food. But let me just say this food was delicious!!!! Started with salad and bread. I ordered the lasagna, and oh em gee it was really really good. I gobbled it right up. After the lasagna came the dessert. Who knew that for $8 i would be getting a salad, bread, lasagna, and a side of chocolate cake!!!! You really can't beat that for lunch on a budget. We were looking to have some Italian for lunch and Villa Italia came up.Reading a couple of reviews we decided to check it our ourself and give it a try. Today we went to have lunch there. Yes it seems you sit in a living room. But it is kind of nice, not creepy at all. The service was good and the food tasted very nice. I had the angel hair with vegetables. I looked for some meat dishes for lunch, but this is only available as a sub. Nice atmosphere, good food and good service. That place deserves the four stars of mine. May be one day I will try a sub, but normally you don't go to an Italien restaurant to have a sub, do you ? read more

Wow! I pass by this place all of the time and I thought I would give it a try. I found a real gem of a place. Great lunch specials are available. I had the lasagna for dinner and it was excellent. Nicely decorated older home. Tables are adorned with white linen tablecloths. I thought the food was a good value for the money. This would be a great place to take someone special on a date. This place is such a hidden gem! Their lunch specials can not be beat. You get garlic bread, a salad, your entree, and dessert all for $8, and the food is AMAZING! The spinach fettucine alfredo is my go-to dish and it's so good that I can not get myself to try anything else on the menu, but coworkers who have branched out say that everything is delicious! read more

We found this restaurant on Yelp while taking our daughter to summer camp. Don't be deterred by the outside of the restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was also extremely good. The tomato basil soup, bananas foster and veal were excellent. We will be back! read more

Now that we have eaten where do we start? Let's start with our server Jose. No personality and said their Ranch dressing is the same as their Creamy Italian. The garlic bread was store bought baguettes with butter and an olive oil and Italian seasoning dip. The salad was an iceberg salad with a few shavings of carrots and a tomato and a spicy creamy Italian/ranch! My son ordered Spaghetti and Meatballs with marinara sauce. The meatballs were peppery and tasted frozen. I ordered the Linguini Pescatore. I was shocked to see imitation crabmeat in it. Very disappointing. The squid was extremely tough also. Shrimp still had their tails on them. The server asked if we would like Parmesan cheese and I expected fresh grated. He returned with a bowl of ground up Parmesan and attempted to put a spoonful on my plate before I said stop. They only have beer and wine and no wine list. We didn't even attempt to have dessert. The table next to us ordered steak and the gentleman said his steak was defrosted in a microwave and did not come out medium rare. read more

Such a find. To start we had calamari fritti, lightly breaded with a marinara dipping sauce then on to veal Dama Bianca with mushroom in a cream brandy sauce. Excellently served with pasta. The house chianti is delicious. Lunch is served with salad and dessert. They also have lunch specials that range from$7.95-$12.95. Lunch 11:00-2:30 and dinner 4:30-9:30 closed Sunday's. We are from California but this is the must stop while in the area. The rooms are well pointed. The first time dining there we had a party of 8 and were seated in our own room with a large round table. Quiet and cozy. read more

True confessions: this review was written in November of 2013 and we haven't been back since - it's just too far and it's not quite special enough. Still, people should know about this place, so here's that review: The food here is surprisingly good, considering that it's a quaint little house near downtown Conroe and there's hardly ever anyone here for dinner. We come on Saturdays at prime time and there might be one or two other tables occupied. We've been the only ones here several times - at 7:30pm on a Saturday! Of course, Conroe does get to bed a little bit earlier than its big city cousins, but still... Service is amateurish, and I mean, like beginners without lessons. But earnest and caring and absolutely no attitude, I have no idea who this other reviewer saw when they visited, but we've been five times and you get two choices: a 17 year-old that's never worked in a restaurant before, or the owner, who's as modest and charming as any small-business owner you've ever met. We can't imagine either one of them copping an attitude. Anyway, we come for the food. We have never had a bad dish, and some have been outstanding. Chicken parmesan - excellent, as is their marsala sauce. Escargots - beautiful, and a heaping pile of them in a simple butter sauce. Desert - you gotta try their tiramisu. The owner/chef is Mexican and it's the best we've ever had - almost a tres leche take on it. You may be the only ones there, but if that doesn't bother you, the food quality makes it worth while. Very disappointed overpriced place for the portions they give you. They charge you for bread. Service personality very dry and in a hurry to grab your plate before you're done with it. They want to charge you $35 for a bottle of Merlot that they bought from Walmart that cost $7.99. Then they want to charge you $8.00 each for a glass of Merlot. Shame on them. read more

I have been here before but today was it for me! I was the first to arrive for a party of 5 people and was told that because I didn't have a reservation they could not seat a party of that size. Looking into the dining area to the left of the door and seeing many empty tables, I then asked if there was a table any where in the restaurant that he could seat us and he said "no". There was not even a hesitation, doesn't seem right with empty tables that you would turn away business! Good luck to ya! read more

Amazing Italian food at a great price. Lunch includes a salad, entree and dessert. It's the same quality of food that I find at much more expensive restaurants. They also have great lunch specials starting at $6.95. My coworker ordered the lasagna for $7.95 and received a salad and dessert as well. Excellent place to eat. They have terrific service and excellent food. The restaurant has been converted from a house. Each room has a little bit different style and elegance. They have very generous servings and a terrific ambience with nice Italian music being played in the background. The music is entertaining but played at low level so as not to interrupt your table conversations. The restaurant is run by a nice couple who have worked in the Italian restaurant business for many years. I took my wife there for her birthday dinner, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was very good, I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. Similar to Carabba's Italian food in quality--or at least what I got. I ordered Diet Coke and was given a glass of ice and a can of soda. I'm sure they charge by the beverage which is a consideration especially if you're bringing kiddos. By far the most remarkable thing was the atmosphere. It was a weird combination of decently prepared and moderately priced food and a rather listless decor scheme that is best described as tacky. It gave me the impression that a patron in a T-shirt and jeans would be at home sitting next to a patron in a formal suit and tie. It was like Carabba's quality and priced food in an Italian themed mom-and-pop burger place atmosphere. It was just sort of... awkward. A unique and lovely restaurant! The food is delicious (especially chicken marsala and pasta primavera) with generous portions. The atmosphere is fascinating -- old-world decor and homage to Italian culture. Fast lunch service, but we didn't feel rushed at all. The big band / Frank Sinatra background music is a welcome escape. read more

Finally came here because the reviews make it sound nice. Greeted at the door and told to pick a table. Nicely decorated with a nice ambience. The bread is a little crispy and the salad not awesome. I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and it was pretty good. My husband had the chicken parm and he loved it but the spaghetti was not bad but wasn't good enough to finish. The waiter was a little awkward. And if you want a coke it comes in a can with a glass of ice. It was good to try just once but probably Will not be back because we have had better Italian for the same price. read more

This is my new favorite! My husband and I happened upon this beautiful restaurant, and we had the best experience. Our food was delicious and well priced. I had salmon with a butter sauce with shrimp and capers. My hubby had the delicious snapper with tomatoes, onions, and asparagus with cream sauce. We had the pleasure of meeting Jose, the owner. Jose even prepared a tiramisu for us knowing it was a birthday dinner. This would be a great place for a romantic dinner or a fun group. I can't wait to go back!! read more
