Sorrento was about 3 hours away from Rome (where we landed) so make sure your ready to keep traveling once you land. The staff is nice; there's a woman here that was very helpful and her English was great. There's so many things to do. I really recommend staying here. There's two different types of hotel rooms. One is just a basic room; and the other is a room, with kitchen, and down stairs. Which was the one we upgraded to. It's more worth it. The rooms are well maintained. I wouldn't say a 5 star, but it's family owner. The decor in the eating room has a beach theme. Light blue; white and dark blue. I could drink wine in that room all day and just relax. The pool is small but clean. The marina is about 20 mins to get to. They have a free shuttle that comes every hour to take you into town. The hotel is on Top of the hill, which calls for amazing views. The breakfast could be better but it's free and comes with booking the hotel. We will be back!!

This is a small boutique hotel in the heart of Sorrento. The room and amenities were exactly as depicted on their website. It is walking distance to all the sites. We loved our room, bathroom and terrace and the highlight was the incredibly generous and delicious breakfast that was served every morning. We felt so taken care of while staying here and highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Sorrento!

We arrived in Sorrento on a train from Naples on a rainy evening. The taxi drivers wanted £25 for a 1 mile ride so we decided to walk instead. It was a comfortable 25 minute walk (we took the long route) from the train station and we got to walk through the city center on our way. Unlike the previous reviewer, the walk to the city center is easy (maybe 15 minutes max) and beautiful. You get to see outstanding views of the ocean and the houses along the edge of the mountains. In addition, almost all the hotels in Sorrento are at least about the same walking distance (or more) from the city center. Busses are also available for those who prefer not to walk. The hotel provides a free breakfast every morning. Good continental spread but they went out of their way to have good gluten free options for my fiancée. The staff (front desk and wait staff) were always nice to us and always remembered our breakfast preferences. The best thing about this place are the views. Breathtaking, show stopping gorgeous. We loved waking up every morning to amazing views of the city and the ocean. We were lucky to get an ocean view room but I recommend asking for one when you make a reservation. The only negative was that the tour of Capri we booked through the hotel sucked a little. It was no way the fault of the hotel though. I recommend buying a commuter ferry ticket and seeing Capri on your own. Awesome hotel. Amazing location. Wonderful staff. Cannot he beat.

We decided to allow house keeping to tidy our room a bit during one of the days. Unfortunately, we had euros, USD, and a US SIM card stolen from our room and we didn't notice until we were already at the airport. I don't take accusations lightly, but no way during our time in Italy have we even touched the bag that contained those "backup" items for emergencies, let alone our US SIM card (we've been using an EU SIM card). The hotel it self is very nice and beautiful, definitely a 4 star hotel. May this review be a warning to whomever is entrapped by the looks of this hotel.

Francesco was attentive and delightful at breakfast. Antonio was helpful and kind at any time. Maria runs a beautiful hotel complete with 16th century frescos on the ceilings of the dining area. The bed was comfortable and the linens were of high quality, giving us great peaceful sleep every night. The A/C was also wonderful, allowing us to come home to a cool room after a day in the early September heat. Although our room was located right on the busy street (windows and a small balcony facing on to the street), the windows are soundproofed to keep the noise of the street out. I wouldn't say it's 100% soundproofing, but it was good enough that even at the peak time on the street (between 10 pm and midnight on weekend nights) the loud noise on the street was subdued to a muffle. Within the hotel, however, if there are people in the halls, you do hear it quite clearly. Since there are only 5 rooms in this hotel there aren't lots of people roaming around and it was only an issue when we slept late and the maids started cleaning (say past 11 am) or tried to nap in the afternoon and there were other guests chatting in the hallway. This might not be an issue for most people, but we were jetlagged and sleeping at off hours. Sorrento is pretty small so I would say that there are a lot of hotels located in a great location, since everything is within walking distance, and this is true of Palazzo Montefusco as well. It's located on a pedestrian only street less than a 10 minute walk from the boat or train station or anything within Sorrento really. Being on a busy pedestrian street and located at the top of a set of stairs, the only drawback would be having to lug your luggage around, but this is taken care of by Giovanni who is able to help you with your bags to wherever you are going. When we arrived, he met us where the car dropped us off and carried our bags up to our room, and when we left by train, he carried our bags not only all the way to the train station, but on to the train. Breakfast is served until 10:30, although there might be some flexibility with that since we ate past 11 am on the day that we left. There's a traditional Italian spread, and they can also make eggs any way that you like. We missed breakfast the first couple of nights due to sleeping late then rushing to catch a boat to Capri, and I think this was a bit unusual for the hotel. I think that Ivan, the owner, really enjoys meeting and talking to the guests, which happens at breakfast. I don't think that we utilized the concierge as much as we could have (others said they go above and beyond in helping to plan excursions etc) but they did book us dinner at the Michelin star rated La Buca with very limited notice (1 hour). Re: the yacht - I read some amazing reviews and this is something I would have loved to do, but the price to take it out for an afternoon was the same as the price to stay in the hotel for 4 nights (yikes). Maybe if it was our honeymoon, but sadly it was just not in our budget for this trip. There is a discount for hotel guests but not enough to make it something viable for us. All in all a great place to call home for 4 nights, with really outstanding stand-out service. Minus half a star only because it's a bit pricey.

She asked what we were interested in doing while we were there and gave us great advice that only a local could give. The room was very clean and filled with food to enjoy at no extra cost. Being right on the harbor was extremely helpful to catch a ferry to Capri and Naples. Highly recommend.
