If i can give this hotel 0 stars i would, the hotel is absolutely horrible my key card for my room kept deactivating i had to go to the lobby about 3 times for them to fix it, the front desk is run by a crowd of kids that don't care and walk around like you owe them something, i asked for 1 bedroom i get there and my room has two beds which was annoying, the bathroom would flood of water every time i would run the shower, you get better service at a motel than here, don't book here, last but not least you have to book the restaurants prior to going to them which they only give you two hours to do which is 9am-11am a mess run while you can. read more

My bf and I had out first night in Aguada and look for a good place to have a good dinner since it was my birthday and we wanted it to be special. We called to the place and the person in the phone told us that they were not taking reservations but only walk-ins, so we left and got the around 9:10pm since they close at 11pm. We got there and the person outside the parking lot didn't let us get in even tho we made sure in the phone it was ok to get there at that time (as soon as we hang up in the phone we got ready as fast as we could and left). My bf told the guy it was my birthday and if there was a way to work it out and he was a total asshole, he said the people inside had to go outside to make sure with him about letting people in. My bf and I were very disappointed about this place's service and it kind of ruin my birthday dinner plan. read more

So it has been at least a year since I last stayed in Villa Cofresí Hotel, however, I've stayed in this hotel around 4-5 times throughout the last 5 years. If there is something I can say about this place is that I've noticed that it's consistent with their service. Now mind you, this is not the fanciest hotel, let alone the best in the area, however, for the price and location, Villa Cofresi is pretty darn awesome. It just makes sense. Location is right in the middle of Rincón, on the east coast of Puerto Rico with the best view for sunsets. Additionally, one of Rincon's best hangouts is their bar. Always packed, lots of locals and tourists and good music. Also, their signature cocktail, the "Coco Pirata" is sooo worth it. Cost about $9-10 and it's a coconut filled with alcoholic goodness and the serving size is the amount of approximately three cocktails. Definitely, something you can share! The view of my wife was the best part of the experience. And the reading of Cofresi given in their menu. We stumbled upon the restaurant after reading many tourist reviews rating the establishment and restaurant so high. We were looking for an authentic Puerto Rican lunch, this was the absolute furthest thing from it. Our first disappointment was the Coco Pirata. This allegedly had three different liquors and milk and cinnamon. My wife and I wouldn't consider ourselves season drinkers, being young, but we legitimately struggled to taste anything other than milk and cinnamon. We asked the server if we had been served virgin ones but he assured us that we weren't. Drinks were doo doo. Talking about poop, we ordered the surtido of appetizers, or for this who don't know, its essentially an assortment. I just have a slight inkling that this was created primarily for Americans on the verge of type 2 diabetes or if not their are straying very close to that diagnosis. There was fried chicken, fried fish, fried cheese, fried plantains, and fried effing corn bread. Some Aztec god is pissing himself as I write this. Next came the fish pinchos. The best part of the dish was the garlic bread that came from Walmart. I know this because I've had Walmart garlic bread. The bread had more seasoning than the fish. I wouldn't be surprised if that fish was created in a lab, shipped to Walmart, imported to Puerto Rico. Frozen. Defrosted. Then served without any actual spice other than the charcoal that came off of the grill. It was actually inedible. The Covid experience ( masks , removal of pool tables, no Dailey room cleaning ect) doesn't help the experience . Had a great view of the sunsets from our room as well as the bar area . They kept running out of the coconuts for their famous pirate drink. We got some our first night and watched a great sunset . Our friends showed up 2 days later and of course after raving about the drinks they had run out of the coconuts . They also missed the great sunsets as it was cloudy ! This is the perfect place to take a date and watch the sunset, have fun drinks. They do have a dinner menu (which is on the pricey side) but if you go at the right time they have a bar menu and a beach side menu which are way more affordable. They also have a pool table and a ping pong table. This restaurant also has beach access. I highly recommend! read more

What a wonderful place to stay! My family was well taken care of by the staff who were very accommodating. The sunset views were beautiful and I enjoyed the early morning walks on the beach. We ate the buffet breakfast in the morning and ate at the restaurant all very good food! The area to lounge is peaceful and it was nice to hear the waves crash and watch the pelicans. So grateful we were able to visit prior to the pandemic. We hope you are doing well. read more

This is a review of the restaurant/bar and not the hotel. The servers were so sweet and the view cannot be beat. Come for the sunset, absolutely. The food was a little pricey, but worth it for the taste/ presentation and vacation experience. I would DEFINTELY come back again. The only thing I would change would be the music volume. It was very hard to enjoy our meal over the bar volume. We went ahead and bought some songs from the jukebox just to have some quieter enjoyable music on. That was the only drawback. The food is nice, and interestingly varied. I had the Pirate drink, a melon ball drink, the red snapper, crusted with plantains, in cilantro sauce, with cofresi potatoes with coconut pudding for dessert. The drinks are delicious, the people awesome. We even enjoyed the gift shop, which they opened just for us. Still, I can't imagine having one of the rooms fronting the patio/bar area, because of the noise. A great place to eat/drink if you don't mind blasting pop music. read more

My review is for the private beach, bar and drinks... When in Rincon please stay or drive over to this hotel and spend the day. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good (a bit on the sweet side) and the beach is perfect. The beach is calm here with a little wave. I think the bar food could be a bit better especially since we are in Puerto Rico you make better food at home then this bar food but what can you do. Back in March 2020 I went to Puerto Rico for a quick long weekend trip. I stayed 2 days at Hotel Villa Cofresi Hotel and was surpringly impressed with this hotel. I found this hotel online and once I booked I had thoughts of being a run down motel. I was very wrong. The online pictures does not do justice for this hotel. Very well kept, inviting entrance with local artistry in display, front office bilingual personnel and ready to help. The bar personnel was extremely friendly and ready to party with you. Plenty of air coming through the entire entertainment part of the hotel since this hotel is located by the beach. You can't swin. The room was very clean and air conditioner was very cold. The hotel itself has several locations overlooking the beach with comfortable hammock, and chairs for relaxation time Now, Friday comes and it's PARTY TIME!!! Music and Karaoke is there ready for singing and dancing. Lots of vacationers comes along with locals to have a great time. They do offer in room service and the food was pretty good. Extremely tasty. I intent to bring my family here once this pandemic is over and will be staying at this hotel. Good bar with pool right on the beach. Make sure to order the Parita Special.. special rum drink served inside a coconut. It's about $9 but you get about 3 drinks worth. Parking is a pain.. either come early or pray you get lucky and can park when someone leaves. You can go to the beach here but it's packed.. personally I would drive to the other side Of Rincon where there are less people. This is my home away from home! I have stayed here 4 times! Always get room 318! The location is great, but its the bar staff that makes this hotel SHINE!!! My brothers, Francis, Wilfred, Jose, Alex and the rest of the bar staff are an incredible group. These guys are always on point, never without a drink for more than a minute. Personable, friendly, just some very nice people!! Please tip them well, they bust their butts so we can enjoy ourselves, at least be generous when tipping! I usually tip at least 30%. Villa Cofresi is not worth visiting unless you are staying there. I have been going to Villa Cofresi for almost 20 years but everything has changed. You can no longer visit as before. I have gone 3 different times to eat, I live 2 hours from Villa Cofresí and every time I go they are always full, they do not allow reservations. The staff gives priority to guests, which is understandable, but they should have a system for people like me who travel from afar to eat there. The staff has told me all 3 times that their guests come first to go elsewhere. They won't try to accommodate far away visitors. And the smart comments the staff make are truly unnecessary specially from the security guard. If you look for other reviews on here there are others who have complained about the same thing and it seems like the owners don't care at all about other paying customers besides there guest. It's truly a shame because it wasn't like this. I will truly miss this place. I will no longer go back and I don't recommend this place as a visitor, you will waste your time traveling there. read more

We spent the better part of a perfect day in Rincon, Puerto Rico walking along the beach and back roads at the suggestion of Yoga Lindsey (can be found through Casa Islena--see my earlier review) who stoked our interest with tales of a giant drink. A drink that would make Zeus himself give up his ambitions and opt for a life on the beach. This drink is called ... "The Pirate." Villa Cofresi sits directly on the beach. It is in fact a resort where patrons can take banana boat rides, waterski rides and all other manner of touristy stuff. We didn't stay at Cofresi, so this review isn't about any of that crap. Villa Cofresi's open bar serves The Pirate in a coconut. That's right, I said coconut. The bartenders--who, by New York standards are the slowest on earth--actually chop the top off a coconut and fill it with rum, coconut milk and other secret ingredients. They then put this drink in your hands, and invite you to stay a while. While there, you can lounge on their beach chairs, enjoy the sunset over the Caribbean and spend some time with a drink that will knock you on your ass. I had three. Within the past week I have been to Villa Confresi at least 4 times. Since no beaches are private in Puerto Rico they are open to everyone, so even though we weren't staying at the hotel we could go through their hotel to their designated beach area. The beach itself is pretty well maintained, but really what you want to go here for is their bar!!!!!!! Their signature drink is called 'El Pirata' (in refrence to the pirate Confresi). Its a blend of rums with coconut water and coconut milk, but the best part is watching them actually chop off the tops of the coconuts with a giant machete! The bartenders are all really awesome! Eddie, Rey and the tall and bald papi chulo were some of our favs! They really take care of you. We will all forsure be returning! read more
