I could not be more pleased with Rob and his team's work. I really did my homework, I contacted at least 5 other painters for a quote. Rob won me over in many ways. Not only was his price most competitive, he was the most courteous, and the most professional. He had all his paperwork ready, including a copy of his liability insurance, for our very first in person meeting. We hired Rob at Viking Painting to paint the interior of our brand new house. His work was horrible. He missed so many spots in our house. He got paint on our brand new carpet and secretly tried to scrub it out resulting in a frayed carpet. He had to come back multiple times to fix the messed up areas. These guys were amazing. On time every day, polite and courteous. Rob the owner came out and gave us a bid along with a folder with his insurance, workers comp and a color chart. His prices are very fair and he definately knows painting! His crew was amazing as well, Gabe, the foreman went above and beyond for us and painted around the edges of the trim even though I had not paid for that option. Rob and his team are awesome. Gabe, the foreman, went above and beyond to ensure I was keep in the loop on the painting process. Viking was amongst the lower price bids and based on their fantastic Ang List reviews (they didn't have any on Yelp), I went with them. So glad I did. For reference, they did a great prep (even hitting stucco cracks with special plastic-embedded paint), two coats incl a roll-in and spot less clean up. With zero surprises whatso ever. Overall, I'm happy with the paint job. Our neighbor did their house with another company and I'm glad to have gone with this company. Viking will go around the exterior and apply epoxy seals on the hairline cracks. As well as apply rust painting to protect your pipes before painting over with your color choices. Rob saw some dry rot and was also able to introduce us to a Anthony and Joe for dry rot repairs. They were great! Also, Viking informed us that the flood light bulbs were out, took the trouble to take out the broken lights bulbs, and offered to help installing the new ones. Viking also did a follow-up with us to clarify what color to paint the section of the house before going ahead with the colors. Viking works with Kelly Moore paints. We chose Dunn Edward colors but Rob was able to match it to the Kelly Moore paints. Viking will work with other paint brands but Kelly Moore is what they prefer to work with. Viking receives a 5-star rating because overall, I love their work and their efforts to the satisfaction of the customer. There are a few details of the painting that I'm not too fond of such as the threshold of the front door not being straight or some of the paint on the exterior stones. But they're not noticeable from a view. So, I'll let it be. read more

Of the three painting contractors I for bids for painting of our home, Rob Nilsson, the owner of Viking Painting, was the only one that provided me with all relevant information about his contractor's license and liability insurance as well as his proposal with a very competitive price for the job within the first 15 minutes. I was impressed that he already had all of the information about our home (size, etc.). I have no doubt that his wife Patti is a significant asset to the smooth running business that they have created. I was skeptical of his statement that he could schedule the job in three weeks and that it would only take something like 3 days maximum. It took me over 2 weeks to pry a bid out of one of the contractors, which caused a delay in responding to Rob's bid. When I called to tell him that we had decided to accept his bid, I asked him what was the next step required of me. His answer: "NOTHING". Then he gave me the dates that he could do the job. He did not ask me to sign a contract or make a down payment. He only asked that we pay him the contract amount upon completion of the job. What a breath of fresh air! When his crew of 5 employees arrived at 7:00 am to do the power washing, I discovered in conversations with several of them that they had been with Viking for around 5 years. They were all very courteous and went about their work with the precision of a finely tuned drill team. No wasted motions, everything done in the proper sequence and in a clean manner. Creating a work force with the talent that they exhibited is NO ACCIDENT. It became obvious that Rob knows precisely how to run a successful business. As a retired engineer, I'm well aware that the logistics of managing a fleet of vehicles, scheduling the work of a crew of 5 employees and caring for the purchase of supplies and disposal of debris is a challenging job. Rob does all of this without even working up a sweat. Well, maybe a little bit! As you might have concluded by now, I highly recommend Viking Painting. read more

Rob and his team painted my home last month. They really did an awesome job!! I have had nothing but great compliments on the colors and detail. I am very picky with detail and cleanliness and couldn't even tell they had been there other than the wonderful new paint. They were very courteous and understanding when I changed my mind on a couple of details and did not charge additional even though it would have been warranted. On top of all that, they were very quick to complete the job. The foreman also went out of his way to point out additional details and suggestions we had not considered that greatly improved the outcome of the job without additional cost.
