I learned about JEM from many neighbors on the street that have been using his painting services over the years here in Rocklin. I called the owner Jarrod who came right out for the estimate. My friend used JEM painting on their place, it looked fantastic so decided to give them a call to provide a bid on our home. I spoke with Jarrod (owner) same day, he was out to provide a bid within a week. He was the best price and I knew he'd do a great job. Results were better than anticipated, him and his crew are professional, timely, and communicative. The house speaks for itself, the paint job is superb. They pressure washed, filled in cracks, primed, and painted. Done in three days. I'd refer them to anyone that needs painting work done and would easily use them again. read more

Owner is rude , true essence of a jerk My husband hired him to paint the outside of our house , when I inspected their works , Found some concern , I asked to paint certain area of the front roof trimming because it look wierd the way its painted , He said its not part of work contract , its just about 6 ft of trimming to paint to make it look better , at first he wants to charge extra ,then my husband offered that he will just paint it from the sample paint we provided them , they eventually painted it but not all the area that I specified . He strongly insists on what is usual painting routine rather than whats the home owners desire or request , his crew are very respectful aside from just minor litter at my backyard from their lunch and snacks wrapper, I don't recommend this business at all read more

I have used JEM Painting on 3 separate occasions from a complete exterior painting of a two story home, to interior painting of accent walls and also minor touch up. Jarrod is very responsive and keeps times schedules and also keeps you advised of who and what time his crew will begin work. Today I had one of his crew members (Diego) paint accent walls in our home. He was right on time, dressed professionally, was very polite and explained what he would be doing. Extremely disappointed with Jarrod (the owner of JEM Painting). I completely understand that times are difficult and responses can take longer. That said, I patiently worked with Jarrod on an estimate for $2K painting job. I had to nicely follow-up multiple times for a response but again understood the delay. Here we are a week later and I ask when Jarrod and his team can start. He now tells me he has another job that will take at least 2 weeks and cannot start until the 27th. When I ask if the 27th is a firm start date, Jarrod decides to decline the job. I have now wasted a week's time along with the time it took for multiple follow-ups. I don't not recommend Jarrod or his company as he clearly does not value a customer's time and does not appear to be a person of his word. read more

I had the trim on the outside of my house painted along with the wrought iron railing and lamps, it turned out better than I had hoped. After moving into our new house, I decided the first project to take on was painting it--I am not a fan of stark, white walls. At first I thought about painting myself, but I figured it would be much wiser to do it professionally, rather than shell out the money for paint and supplies, put in the hours, botch it, and still have to call a professional. I definitely made the right choice. I called quite a few places for price estimates based on square footage, and had three different companies come for an in-home estimate. Jarrod, the owner of Jem Painting, was not only able to give us the best price estimate, but he was also the one that made us feel the most comfortable. We felt he was honest, fair, easy-going, and yet still very professional and able to give us good feedback on our ideas. I was also very pleased that he had eco-friendly paint, low odor and no VOC, which costs slightly more but is definitely worth it not to breath in paint fumes and hazardous materials. We hired Jem Painting to paint our house and they did an awesome job. Aside from the paint job itself, he was also very accommodating while I was still in the paint selection process, which I greatly appreciated. In terms of the painting, they had a lot to tackle, as we painted our entire house and used different colors for different rooms, but they were very efficient, very clean, and did a great job overall. In addition, he let us know that if we noticed any little details to revisit to just let him know (which we did for a couple of minor details. In fact, he even fixed something on the wall that was there from BEFORE we moved in!). Overall, I highly recommend Jarrod and Jem Painting. In fact, we have already referred him to another one of our friends (he did a great job there too) and my boyfriend's brother (they are selecting colors right now). I can't think of a better testament to the quality of Jarrod and Jem Painting than recommending him to your own family. read more

We contacted three painting contractors for bids: one didn't return our call, one took two weeks to return a pricey bid, and Jarrod with JEM Paint gave us a bid within a few days of our initial contact, and updated it twice more as we added work to his amazing price. The work was scheduled to begin within two weeks of the final bid, and the total job on a 3,400 sq ft. two-story stucco home took 4.5 days. Jarrod and his crew were always very courteous and friendly. They pressure washed, scraped, sealed cracks and primed exposed wood, patched stucco, removed and installed new light fixtures, and repaired our dry rot on our patio cover (significantly extending its useful life). The paint looks amazing and I would hire him again for any paint work, and highly recommend him to others looking for a great paint job for a great value. read more

They did a great job prepping the house and protecting the plants, sidewalks, and driveway from overspray. The house turned out looking great. Got a quote to do the exterior painting of my two story home and some interior painting. Quote was received reasonably quick. I understand they are really busy because many people like them, but for some reason they were never able to fit me into their schedule. As of today I been waiting 7 weeks for them to even schedule me. Since the quote it's been poor communication. I had to move on to a competitor. He came over gave us an estimate, helped us choose paints, and quickly set a date to start pressure washing and repairing areas around the house that needed it. This review is a little late (2 years to be exact) but this is a real testament of JEM painters! Our house is still looking great! Jarrod was fantastic to work with and helped us with our color scheme. He suggested his preference of paint product; we're glad we went with his suggestion as it still looks new from the day they finished painting. They kept on schedule and cleaned up the work area every night. After 6 months we saw some areas on the 2nd story that needed some touch up - his crew was out the day after we called to take care of it. I told him the exact time he called and he still said it was not him. He ask for my street name and said he had me down for 2 pm on another day. Jem and his crew did a passable job on our older home over one year ago. I give only three stars as I am finding myself in need of redoing much of the trim due to less than rigorous prepping the first time around. We have just completed some serious remodeling for our 20 year old home and were planning on saving some money by repainting it ourselves. However my wife hurt her hand working in the backyard and I did not like the idea of doing all the work myself. So we got a couple of bids and for painters in our area. Jarrod came out and gave us a bid that was within $200 of the other bids. He included some minor wood replacement in his bid that the other painters had not. Jarrod and his crew contacted us the week before they were to start. They set a day and time when they would be there. They were there on time. They started work at 7:30 AM on a Monday after having power washed in the week before. They were done by 5:00 PM on Tuesday. Our house is a one story 1650 square foot house in Rocklin. During the prep work they found some additional dry rot and fixed that for me and replaced two 2x4 trim pieces for a nominal additional cost. The crew was fast, courteous and professional. Jarrod inspected the work when his crew was finished. He was easy to talk to ask questions of regarding the job. I would definitely hire him again. The house has that new look you get with a good paint job. read more

We hired JEM Painting to spray paint our new wood windows & inside trim as well as the outside trim. We were impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the owner Jarrod as well as his crew. Jarrod was exceptional with follow up and letting us know if there was a delay or so - even if his crew was just coming an hour later than discussed. Jarrod was very flexible and came by our house several times to paint windows in advance, get trim samples, etc. His crew did an excellent job with the windows, as several other contractors who saw their work confirmed. They paid great attention to detail when touching up all the paint and repairing walls where they had been damaged by the removal of the old windows. Jarrod made sure we were 100% satisfied with the work and promised to come back if there were any issues. We hired JEM first in May, when half our house had windows replaced and didn't even ask anybody else to bid when we replaced the rest in September. We are planning on hiring them a third time for some inside painting job, as they are so great to work with. read more
