I initially tried to see Dr. Tam when I rolled my ankle - considering they are an urgent care, they didn't care too much about my ankle. Not sure how this works. I eventually made an appointment to just do a yearly physical. I schedule an 11am appointment and arrive around 10:45am. Upon checking in the front desk ladies verified my ID, insurance and if I had to correct paperwork. I sat there for roughly 10 minutes and was taken back by the MA. She did the weight, height and my vitals. My only thing is she didn't really explain what she was doing, rather she just did her thing. Working in the medical field I knew the protocol, but it would've been nice to have been informed what they are doing - especially for someone who doesn't know. I was then placed in a room and waited for the doctor. Dr. Tam did arrive in the room a little after 11:15am. Considering MDs are notoriously late, I thought this was pretty dang good. He brings in a laptop and that's where he takes all his notes. I informed him that I switched insurances and wanted to meet my new PCP and get some labs done. I then gave a in depth medical history and he noted them all and then he eventually did the normal physical. Dr. Tam was funny yet professional and was easy to speak with. He answered all my questions thoroughly and honestly this was a really good experience. He informed me that I could get my labs done down the hall at Quest Diagnostics and that my prescriptions would be sent to the location I desired. He wanted to schedule a follow up appointment post lab results to go over everything. While I think this could be done via email, it's nice that he would like to go over it; I am not opposed to making this appointment. All in all I had a great experience with Dr. Tam. I am hoping this continues because I would like for him to be my PCP for the long term.

He can only cover one topic per appointment, so it requires 3-4 appointments for him to cover all the ailments for a typical patient. He also promised to do certain research in between appointments but did not do so, so he is unreliable as a doctor. Overall I would only recommend Dr. Tam if you have no other options. Ultimately I decided to switch to another provider to get better care.

Dr. Shaw identified (based on her test results) that she was incredibly low in folinic acid, her body just didn't make it. One capsule later my kid was like a different person! After years of taking her to all different kinds of specialists Dr. Shaw had unlocked the mystery! We will be eternally grateful. Our daughter has to take two folinic acid capsules a day to 'be normal' but at least we know now and can plan accordingly.

The hubby and I are so impressed with Dr. Shaw. He is very knowledgeable about supplements, and seems very careful and thoughtful when he makes recommendations. I have been researching supplements for years, and I'm talking, OCD-level research where I dig and dig and dig to find the best stuff, and Dr. Shaw is on the same page as me. He had the same recommendations for my husband, and then some we'd never heard of. He was able to explain why he recommends everything he does, and he quickly earned our trust that he is a competent doctor who does his research, knows what he's talking about, and cares about making people well. We never feel like he's rushing us through the appointment, at all, and he asks a lot of questions. I am so glad that I was able to find Dr. Shaw through Yelp (and the other good reviews on here). We don't have health insurance, and no it's not cheap but it's WAY cheaper than a hospital bill! It's worth it to come and see him, for the guidance and peace of mind. I just wish we'd started seeing him YEARS ago! Dr. Shaw confirmed that dairy is NOT good for the liver (I've been telling this to my husband for a while but he needed to hear it from a doctor). If one of the other doctors he's seen over the last 5 years could have been as smart, we could have spared a lot of frustration and expense. Oh well. At least we found him eventually. Dr. Shaw is the most knowledgeable doctor my husband has been to. Really glad he does what he does. The staff is really nice too.

They charged more than $900, of which my insurance allowed $400. $400 for a 15 min appointment out of pocket - that's more than a CEO makes. That's absolute insanity. Do not recommend! Update: so far One Medical has refused to recode my visit to comply with my insurance coverage. You would think that a subscription service would at least try to minimize your out of pocket by taking a look at your insurance and suggesting which appointment type to book under.

I have been here five times and have had a wonderful experience every time - from the check-in desk to the actual Doctor or NP visits. This review is specific to when I sliced my ring finger. I highly recommend Dr. Sach Takhar. He has such a lovely, calm and engaging manner - even in moments of crisis...sliced finger! He was able to see me within 30 minutes of my "accident" and was gentle in his treatment, brilliantly distracting me with conversation. His care enabled me to fly internationally, as planned, within less than 24 hours. He made time to see me the following week to check on the healing and am so grateful to Dr. Takhar - my finger has healed like brand new! Free parking along the entire street also makes things so convenient. Grateful One Medical exists and that they have such amazing teams at both their San Mateo and Burlingame locations.

He said no, this is why the internet isn't good because people think they know what they have. He then perscribed me something else. 4 visits, 2 months of utter discomfort, multiple medication and creams tried and NOTHING was working. He couldn't figure it out and blamed "stress". At this point I was so SICK of feeling discomfort I went somewhere else. Within 2 visits it was cured and what I TOLD Dr. Perez it was to begin with. He is very slow and talks quietly, but I just felt that he was being considerate. I have been to him two times now, well 3 if you count stitches being removed (where I used to have a suspicious mole). The first couple times were for attempting to diagnose these strange tiny blistery like things that I get on my hands and feet every once and a while. They range from not existent to oh-god-I can't-bend-my fingers-or-walk, and of course for my appointment they were much closer to the non existent end of the spectrum. Luckily I had taken pictures, which were very helpful. He did a biopsy of what little blister I had, which cost a fortune, and hurt like hell once the local wore off, and unfortunately yielded no conclusive results. This is where I have a small problem because I am not sure that he took the best sample, and I really think that he should have had me wait until they were worse, and then done the biopsy ... or at least explored some other options before just giving me an Rx.
