Has good reviews but our experience was half good and half quite disappointing. Surprised to find that reservations were expected but that's my mistake for not checking. But they were able to seat us right away. Service was prefunctory. Menu with a nice selection of dish options. My DW loves Bun so that was her choice even before arrival. She chose the noodle with grilled meat option. I was looking for something with seafood and chose the stir fried noodles with mixed vegetables and seafood. My first clue we might have some disappointment was the speed that the food came out. It was literally not even five minutes before two entrees were served. Hmmmm. The Bun turned out to be just fine and she enjoyed it very much. Mine on the other hand had way undercooked vegetables, including very strong onions, noodles that were not completely hot as well as seafood in the same condition. All the seafood-tiny pink shrimp, mussels, and calamari was pretty clearly pre cooked and just given a quick spin around the pan. The mussels especially were not a pleasant temp for this dish. I ate it without complaint but also without enjoyment. Not sure how they have such high marks but it was not really the case for our meal.

While I have had pho from Saigon to Hanoi, and am a therefore a little hard to please, I'm more comparing this to other asian food I've had in the UK and US. Even by those standards it is pretty weak. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue - a fabulously rich and spicy beef soup from Hue in central Vietnam. The noodles were tough and bland, and the soup, while well spiced, seemed to lack the depth of flavor that I've come to expect from Pho. Would maybe go again to try the bahn mi or other options.

Summary: A chic and well designed "pho" place that offers mixed feelings…read more If you want traditional Vietnamese Pho, this isn't the place for you. The flavor is drastically off and the ingredients used to make their pho are totally different. However, IF you are into a fusion form of Pho, take a chance and try this place out. I, clearly, wasn't a fan of the pho here. The noodles had this weird earthy taste while the broth lacked the flavor of beef. The broth was on the sweet side and clearly made to suit western tastes. Coming from Los Angeles, I was really surprised how the dish I had was called pho. However, the ONE thing I did like about the pho was that the beef they used was high quality and tasted amazing. The beef was juicy and tender, as if it would melt in your mouth! Service is dodgy. The servers here offer you service based on what you look like and how you dress. When my friend tried to order her dish while I was in the restroom, the waiter apparently told her "Not now I'm busy". However, when I called him over after returning from the restroom, it seemed as if the gold chain on my neck turned me into a "vip" client. He quickly took my order and apologized to my friend for his error. My personal experience with the service is good, but others might have it differently. On a side note, it seems like my friends really like their stir fried rice noodles. I have yet to try that--but from what I heard they are DELICIOUS.

If you have eaten PHO in more authentic places like Little Vietnam in Los Angeles, San Francisco,…read moreToronto, and Orange County (I have)...then don't eat here. The Pho is not authentic. It is picture pretty but that is about it. This place was recommended by our friend's 25 year old kid (whose palette is still young). The decor is beautiful and the inside is cozy and intimate. I ordered the seafood pho. It had no depth to it. It was missing that umami flavor. The broth was watery. It was missing the mint and the Thai basil. I ordered it #2 spicy and it was not spicy at all. We asked for some Fish sauce and they had no idea what we were talking about (which should have been a red flag) so then we asked for Hoisin sauce and they didn't have that either, they offered us soy sauce and we accepted that. Anything to bring some flavor to our pho. They ran out of chicken and (the night was still young) so my friend had to order the beef pho. He said his was okay- this was his first time having pho so he had nothing to compare it to. The service was mediocre. We had to ask them to bring us utensils. We had to ask them again to bring us napkins. It took them forever to ask us what we wanted to drink after they sat us down. To be honest, it was overpriced for the quality of food that was served. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic pho in Glasgow. This is a very instagram/influencer spot for pretty food pics/decor and that's about it. I would not go back.

All where delicious. I also really enjoyed the Pho. Ratings can be hysterical - because everyone likes different types of Pho. One woman said the Pho is SO salty. And another guys claims its bland. (people are strange). Yet, I found it delicious. I ate downstairs on all of my trips and enjoyed that for lunch. Will def visit this for lunch again on my next visit.

The prices are pretty crazy. This is about as prime real estate as you can get in Edinburgh, I'd imagine: less than a block from the Our Dynamic Earth attraction, barely a block from the Scottish Parliament buiding, just a block or two from the Royal Mile (and Holyrood Palace), and so on. Chicken pesto panini was great--plenty of marinated chicken and mozzarella, fine basil pesto, terrific bread. Only quibble is that the whole production was somewhat dry. There were something like 15 panini choices, so just about everybody ought to find something to their liking. No seating in the little shop, but you wouldn't want to eat here anyway. It was infernally hot inside (felt like 90 degrees F, Christ), and I don't know how the staff makes it through an entire shift. But the gardens at the parliament building are only a couple of minutes' walk away, and Holyrood Park just beyond that. In good weather, that's where you want to go. It was perfect lunch break for a massive urban walk that included the Royal Mile, Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill, and on back to the other side of Dean Village where we were staying.
