    Cashew nut stir fry

Excellent food and service! The cashew nut stir fry was beautiful and delicious! After a day of exploring the castle, this was the perfect ending!

Nok's was good. It's so small so they couldn't fit us in for table. We landed on take away and got green curry, pad thai and chicken satay. Good spice level, packaged well for take away and really good flavors.

Unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate us due to the fact they were busy. Additionally, we didn't have a reservation. The restaurant was very cute and the hostess was friendly. Given the crowd, I assume it's a great place to dine. The food looked very authentic from what we could see.

On my first visit here, we blindly walked in hoping for a table but they were completely full. After being turned away, we came back a week later with reservations. Make sure you make reservations, which get filled up quick as well. And let me start by telling you that the reservations to eat here is damn worth it! Upon entering, the space is quite limited with seating, but decorated very classy and nice. It has a bit of an old school charm about it. As soon as we were seated, our glasses were filled with water. Might I add, they were amazing at refilling our water throughout dinner. Between the two of us, we shared the Beauty Crab (£6.95) to start. I was immediately drawn to this appetizer from the presentation from photos. The best part is that not only was the crab stuffed curry in a crispy roll beautifully done, it was even more delicious! The three savory cones also had a nice kick of spice, crunch, and flavor making an amazing combination. We also shared two entrees: Chicken Panang Curry (£10.95) with Jasmine Rice (£2.95) and King Prawn Pad Thai (£11.95). If you made me decide which one I liked more, I truly couldn't even pick. Both dishes were divine and truly authentic to Thai cuisine. I have to say that the Pad Thai is an absolute must here for the exquisite presentation from the banana leaves to the flower-shaped carrots. This is the level of quality you find at Chinese weddings from the way they handcrafted the edible decors on each plate. Definitely one of my favorites in Edinburgh. While it's a tad pricier than other Thai spots in the area, the quality and craftsmanship of the food makes this place worthwhile.

We had been sampling Thai food throughout the UK. Nok's Kitchen was solid - not a blow you away experience. We started with the crab curry "cones" and chicken roll. Chicken roll was dry - needed a bit of sauce. Crab "cones" were probably the best dish of the meal with seafood flavor backed by a nice curry flavor. For mains we split the panang curry (red) and soft shell crab curry (yellow). Both were solid - panang maybe a bit too much coconut milk mellowed out the flavor. Both didn't have a ton of depth and for 3 pounds would expect more rice because one wasn't enough to split. Good serve and overall experience!

    Cashew chicken. Must get!

The best Thai food I think I have ever eaten. This cozy, busy place is worth making a reservation.

For those familiar with original place, you'll know the food is top notch quality and yummy! They've also opened up an adjoining bar called The Bangkok bar which serves Thai street food. V handy if you're down that end of town for drinks and fancy a tasty small bite alternative. Sometimes Thai food just hits the boozing spot like nothing else!! I've not tried the cocktails but I'm assured by a friend they're worth a trip. I tried the main restaurant on Saturday night as part of a big group celebrating a friends birthday. They were more than happy to accommodate large groups, balloons and birthday cake. Nothing was an issue at all. Wine wasn't overpriced. Instead of my normal go-to Thai options I mixed it up a bit with a starter of Marinated quail and a main of Osso Bucco Massaman. The quail was delish! Crispy, salty, tasty. I would have sucked the bones dry if I wasn't trying to be a lady in front of the group! Ha ha. A really nice alternative to chicken. I'm not sure i was entirely sold on the main though which is probably my aversion to hunks of meat and bone, not a reflection of the quality of the dish. The meat was slow cooked and tender, but I was put off a bit with the sliced bit of bone marrow in the centre. I guess I'm not an Osso Bucco kinda gal really. Its definitely in a "man food" category. The sauce was amaaaaazing though! I had a few spoons waved my way for a taste. This place is well worth a visit!!!

So now there is one on Broughton Road that is much more convenient. The food is just divine. The portions are pretty big and worth every penny. It is all beautifully presented and full of flavour authentic Thai food. I tried their seafood dumpling green curry and it was huge but so tasty. The attached Bangkok Bar is also lovely. They have a delicious cocktail menu and are always keen to make bespoke cocktails depending on what you like. I can't wait to go back!

Dusit was the very last restaurant I ate at in my trip to Edinburgh and boy was I glad I found it. Unlike Scottish food there is actually FLAVOR. I could believe my taste buds after a week of disappointment in other various restaurants. My companion and I bought the banquet dinner (essentially like a tasting menu) and the portions were HUGE! You get this enormous platter for a starter filled with various rolls, dumplings and skewers as well as a spicy beef salad. Try not to fill up as you get a choice of 3 mains and these are also pretty large too! I thought they would decrease the size of the mains because of the selection process but nope, each one was in their own right a single entree size! We chose the crispy chicken, the duck and the spicy beef (that was probably the spiciest thing on the menu). Everything was delicious and the spice was completely manageable. I was actually a bit hesitant initially because I was the ONLY asian customer in that restaurant at the time that I went. Usually, that is a really bad sign of westernized asian food that tends to be less spicy and blander. But that wasn't the case at all and I thought it was all so very delicious. I also ordered a Thai iced tea and to my surprise you get to add your own amount of sweet syrup and condensed milk. That's great because you can customize the Thai iced tea to your liking! I loved the decor and the seating arrangements (plenty of space between tables). The staff were michelin star-d attentive. I have never seen staff in an asian restaurant as attentive as these. They cater to your every need and was always on hand to refill your wine or water glass. This restaurant is a diamond in the rough and a must try if you come to Edinburgh!
