I took this tour in early March 2014 and it was fantastic! Vieques Paddleboarding tour group was friendly, professional and easy to deal with. Jorge and Gabo were our guides. They provided gear, snacks and sunblock. I recommend that you bring a tight fitting hat or one that cinches so you don't lose it. We met at Tres Palmitas boat ramp. From there we received instruction on how to Paddleboard then off we went. We paddled to the mangroves then got down on our bellies to wade our way through the groves. We stopped along the way to learn about the trees and the surrounding life. We then paddled our way to a secluded area where we beached the paddle boards and had a quick snack. Once we were hydrated we put on our gear and snorkeled with our guides. They took time to point out the different corals, fish and other forms of sea life. After snorkeling we returned to our starting point. Our guides took photos throughout the tour and emailed them to us. That freed us up to really enjoy our time without having to worry about taking the perfect picture. This trip was the highlight of my time in Vieques. I highly recommend it.

He kept yelling at us over and over to follow him as he was dead stopped in the water and he was flush with the group. We went back and forth between being told to speed up or slow down and spent a lot of time just floating rather than kayaking. We were unable to see him at all and all of the yelling was very stressful, I wish we could have just had a dim light to follow like other tours offer. We were supposed to kayak for an hour according to the description but were out of the water by 8:30 and didn't even enter the water until after 7:50. And before you ask, no one was late so we didn't start late. We spent more time rafted together talking about the stars and the constellations than we did enjoying the dinoflagellates. For reference, I have been coming to mosquito bay every few years for nearly 25 years. I have never felt more rushed like cattle and unable to appreciate the beauty of the bay. Additionally we overheard the guides talking about various members of the group behind their backs afterwards. I speak Spanish and heard it all-- never appropriate to do this in front of customers no matter the situation. One other guest within earshot heard them saying the things above and commented to me about it as she could also understand them. Also overheard one joking with another about how they're essentially here for the money grab. Unfortunately I think that his phrase is the best way to sum up the vibes of our tour. Adding a star because the bay is amazing. Even though it's not as bright after Maria it's still such an amazing piece of nature.

We…read morehad the pleasure of snorkeling with this family owned company and I wish I could have snorkeled with them an extra day! Laura, her husband, and their son Damian were passionate about what they do and I absolutely enjoyed my time with them. It was my first time snorkeling, so you can imagine it was a bit scary for me. However, Laura and her family made me feel safe. They helped me adjust my mask until it was perfect and always checked on me to ensure I was safe and having a good time. In addition, they take photos for you and point out the turtles, sting rays, puffer fish, and other rarities so that you don't miss them. They also take photos for you so you don't have to carry your own camera. Booking a round trip ferry ride with C.I.A. is convenient and saves you the hassle of waiting for tickets at Fajardo Ferry (separate review). Booking with them guarantees you a RT ticket; you'll receive a text with details on getting your tickets. When you get to Culebra, Laura meets you and drives you to Tamarindo Beach where the fun begins! For the SeaVenture package, you start off with a short kayak to your snorkeling destination. You snorkel for a while and then kayak back to shore. Here, you'll have a lunch provided to you by Laura and her family. There's fruit, juice, soda, water, and these amazing sandwiches that are seriously to die for! Laura says it's made of blended cheese, ham, and peppers (I should have asked for the complete recipe!). After lunch, you snorkel in a separate area where the beautiful turtles hang out! This was my favorite part! You will be informed as to how to behave around them to avoid scaring them away. After this excursion, Laura drives you to the famous Flamenco Beach and picks you up in an hour (depending on when you finish the SeaVenture). She takes you straight to the ferry and you're off to Ceiba! All in all, I would definitely snorkel with C.I.A. in the future!!

I called them up to get some more details and make reservations. Damien Sr was very helpful in getting our ferry tickets even though we gave them a short notice. We needed transportation but ended up renting our own car, because they needed a min of 8 people to arrange transportation. Taxi is 20$pp, so paying 160$ for just the two us didn't make any sense. We were greeted by Laura at the Culebra terminal promptly on time. She drove us to Tamarind beach for snorkelling trip. The trip took a little while to start, we had to wait for some other guests to join us which a little bothersome as we were raring to go. Damien Jr explained the basics of kayaking and the tour details. The tour is split into two parts 1) Kayaking for 20 min to reach a good section of the reef and then snorkeling. 2) Snorkeling in another section to see the turtles and some coral reefs. They provided food/refreshments after we got back from the first section of the trip. They also took lots of pictures which was great. We saw a lot of fishes, sting rays, turtles, different kinds of corals. I would have liked to know more about the different kinds of fish and the coral that we saw. We spent a good amount of time in the water and after that Laura dropped us off at Flamenco beach. Flamenco beach was awesome, it has turquoise blue water and white sand, we spent around an hour at the beach. We left around 4 to catch the ferry back to Fajardo terminal. We had a great experience! Double thumbs up!

It was a nice and chill hike. Very easy, flat for the most part. The only uphill hike is the on the trail to reach El Morrillo, which are two bunkers left over from WW2. They overlook the ocean and we're used to spot German U-boats. It was pretty cool, and the view is even cooler. The Reserve has beach access. I believe you can get in so bring a bathing suit if you plan on taking a dip. The same trails for hiking are used for bike riding, so be aware for bikers. Also, if you are riding a bike, be mindful of hikers. The Reserve has a fishing platform. They don't rent fishing equipment. You have to bring your own. We saw a guy catch a tilapia. The lagoon is great for birdwatching so bring those binoculars. Overall, this is a perfect spot for a family outing and also a date (of your date enjoys the outdoors). Note: the address and pin on this page are incorrect. The address says Bayamón,PR instead of Humacao,PR. The pin has it on Just off PR-3. That is wrong. It is right on PR-3. You will see the entrance on the right. I made the edit, hopefully the update will be up soon. This spot is worth visiting.

They also rent bikes. That would also be fun. They don't have food or drinks here, at least not that I noticed. Better bring your own. They have some picnic tables. Also, the Reserve is not too far from food options. You will find several places to eat nearby on the PR-3, such as the Malecón de Naguabo, which has good seafood places.

I mapped the location from the resort where I was staying, to the meet up location. I got a taxi to take us & we left with ample extra time to get to the location. Apparently there was an accident and our driver indicated that he was going to turn around and go another way, which would get us there right on the dot. However, route 2 was not panning out, as now other traffic also used that route. I emailed the company multiple times requesting if it was possible to move to next day. ZERO response. I texted the company phone number, requesting the same. ZERO response. I called before texting, no answer. I did this from the date of our reservation until into the afternoon the next day. Very, very disappointed, as their booking calendar showed availability for the following day, but no one would respond. So not only did we miss out on something fun, but we are out $250. Would not recommend whatsoever given the complete lack of communication. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
