This past winter league was horrible. Everyone one of our games were at a local high school and we always had refs that's were training so there were lots of bad calls, no concessions and worst of all most games were in a smaller gym where seating was very limited but yet we were charged the same amount as other able to play and have better benefits and usage of the center. Shortly into the season other parents and myself noticed a league member Rick Bottoms was missing or not keeping score correctly on many occasions but nothing changed, it was never corrected. At the end of the season I expressed my concerns and issues in an email to the league for constructive criticism and hopefully get a resolution. Instead I got a response from the leagues Treasurer, Terri Goodman telling me I needed to find another league for my son! No resolution not even a helping hand or notice that they would try to make corrections. Then I contacted the leagues president, Coal Grogan via text and asked him to please review the emails because of her rudeness and to address issues but never even got a response. I was told by many parents with kids at this league that it was all about politics but didn't listen and unfortunately they are right so beware. I will be happy to share the emails for verification. The worst part about this situation is that it's hurting who it's suppose to be about and that is the kids/players!

I have never experienced harassment or abuse from any teacher at this schoo. Can teacher be angry yes, can they be mad yea but they always apologize after the fact. However kids can be mean and that is a part of life so to anyone who says that they needed therapy, cope. You'll get passed it and if you can't talk to a teacher or adult. Thank you.

I was coming from a school and teacher body that told me I was capable of everything I put my mind to (and I did) and very progressive. In contrast, West Forsyth was a stark difference from the world I'd known. In all honesty, there were two teachers I would say you have to watch out for, Smith (AP English) and Martin (AP World, I believe). I won't go into detail, but if you're a minority student - this is a school that is not open minded (go figure, it's the south) and you will get discriminated and told that your work was 'not done by you' because how could a minority student be capable of such? Luckily, I got into the college I wanted by my own accord. I wish North Carolina really paid attention to who they hire as a teacher, but it seems this is all by design.... If you're an educator, do better and be better. Don't teach kids if you haven't worked on yourself as a person. Oh, and if you don't like kids... what are you doing with your life, seriously?

Teachers genuinely care about each child's progress. The Montessori approach to education equips children to create, challenge and think on their own. I also like that elementary grade children seem to have a lot more movement throughout the day due to the programs design.

Located in Home Moravian Church, this half-day program is divided into inside and outside activities that are child-led. They offer two, three or five day options. The classrooms are full of simple, intentional toys that provide opportunities for children to solve problems and collaborate with others! The outside space is a simple, natural playground with sand boxes, gardens and "mud kitchens" where kids can use their imaginations. All of this is covered with sunshades for the hotter part of the year. The proximity to Old Salem allows the older children to explore the many sights with the guidance of their teachers. From the perspective of a parent, the school is very intentional about providing resources to help in continuing the Montessori method at home. . I feel like I have learned as much as my children! I have two children in Salem Montessori (one in the younger toddler and one in the three to six class) and both have thrived! If a half-day program fits your schedule, this school is the best option for your children to grow and learn!
