Reynolds, along with most of WSFCS, is in a rapid state of decline as county administrators grasp…read moreto bandaid a $40m+ budget deficit and scramble for bailout assistance from the state and county (both have now declined). Leadership either has no plan to address challenges, or if they do, aren't sharing it with staff and families. Issues like racial and class segregation (see demographic data of schools like Reagan and Carver), school safety, and some of the worst teacher pay in the country continue to go unaddressed.

Homophobic, Disrespectful, Ghetto are three words to summarize this school…read more You would think because this is an art school in a rich area, people would be accepting of your sexuality. Wrong! I went to this school last year. There was a homophobic poster outside a classroom. I of course was bothered by it and requested for them to take it down. They told me "It's a research project, we can't take it down". That's bullshit. If you research lgbt you wouldn't find homophobic things on credible sources. On this poster it had said the 'causes' of homosexuality. One of them being sexual assault. That's homophobic. I was new to the school by this time and I knew just then it was going to be a bad year. Another thing that happened in this school, is I was in Mr.Jackson's Earth and Environmental class. I was an a student in my previous school for Earth Science. When I switched schools Mr.Jackson refused to accept any of my work. And he also didn't abide to my 504. I used to love Earth Science this teacher made me hate the class. I also cried everyday because I used to love school and love working on my assignments. For my assignments are the only thing I can control in my life. Mr.Jackson refused to take any of them and I cried everyday. And even cried when entering his classroom everyday. I'm so glad I moved back to my old school. Also, don't get me started on the school's assistant principal Ms.Archie. She is the worst! She is disrespectful and also tries to act as my counselor. I request to my see my counselor and Ms. archie refuses to let me have a private conversation with my counselor. Then when I request to see my counselor most of the time I end up being called to Ms. archie's office. She is not a counselor she isn't trained to be a counselor. I hated this school. Don't fucking ever go to it if you have the choice.

Best school ever. I'm a junior and it's frankly awesome to be a part of this community. Anyone who…read moresays that they have been bullied, Gabriela V., is just frankly wrong. I have never experienced harassment or abuse from any teacher at this schoo. Can teacher be angry yes, can they be mad yea but they always apologize after the fact. However kids can be mean and that is a part of life so to anyone who says that they needed therapy, cope. You'll get passed it and if you can't talk to a teacher or adult. Thank you.

I was coming from a school and teacher body that told me I was capable of everything I put my mind to (and I did) and very progressive. In contrast, West Forsyth was a stark difference from the world I'd known. In all honesty, there were two teachers I would say you have to watch out for, Smith (AP English) and Martin (AP World, I believe). I won't go into detail, but if you're a minority student - this is a school that is not open minded (go figure, it's the south) and you will get discriminated and told that your work was 'not done by you' because how could a minority student be capable of such? Luckily, I got into the college I wanted by my own accord. I wish North Carolina really paid attention to who they hire as a teacher, but it seems this is all by design.... If you're an educator, do better and be better. Don't teach kids if you haven't worked on yourself as a person. Oh, and if you don't like kids... what are you doing with your life, seriously?

We were thrilled when our younger one got picked from the lottery to enroll in this charter school,…read moreand we were really excited when our older one got picked as well (they give preference to siblings attending the same school). My kids have made friends and seem to like it here. There isn't bus service, but I would have had to drive and pick my kids up either way due to bus driver shortages. This is a small school, and the faculty know everyone and their kids here, which is refreshing compared to a larger school. They also don't give homework, which my kids and I love not having that eat up our afternoons for no reason. They claim to teach a regular curriculum but with an artsy twist, making the learning fun and engaging. As far as how much they actually live up to that claim, my older one indicates that they tend to be lacking in that department. Still, I think we prefer it here to your standard public school.

The idea is to teach them lessons not only through words, but also visual, audio, and even performance lessons. Dance class is the dance of the molecules. While the current science lesson would be the phases of matter. Plenty of overlap and reinforcement. My kids LOVE it there. They dont notice the lack of a traditional gymnasium. Teachers are all very nice. Tutoring and special assistance is available for kids that need it. And the parent community is very invovled - and non judgy... because most of us are artists. All these reasons are why I have a third child starting there in the fall.
