I came across an old cd that have a lot of images from an event that I was in and for some reason I could not view them. I hadn't seen them in 8-9 years and I was desperate to view them. I attempted to contact the photographer to see if she still had them saved but I was unsuccessful. The gentleman at Video Tape copy was a life saver. Finding this company was a god send. You need look no further. This is the best. I visited and called other places in town before I found Video Tape Copy. Most were much more expensive, but because these were my valuable family movies, I wasn't going to choose the service based on price alone. I had about 100 family tapes from 1991 til now. Obviously, these tapes are the most valuable things we have, along with our photos. They were home movies of our family and our six children growing up. I did my research and due diligence before I decided to turn my tapes over to Mr. Scott. His prices were extremely competitive. But again, I did not choose him based on price alone. (He did have the best price for my big job, though.) By the way, Mr. Scott and his family own and run this business. He is absolutely the nicest man! He does all the transfers himself. Video transfer is not a "set it and forget it" job. It requires experience, knowing everything that can go wrong, and knowing how to prevent it. It's not a job for a newbie. It requires expertise and experience, and that is exactly what Mr. Scott has. He has been doing this for years. After talking with Mr. Scott, I had no qualms about leaving all 100+ precious home movies with him. And I was thrilled when the job was done. It could not have been better. He did not charge me for blank tapes. He monitored every transfer to make sure it was done right. I even drove from the other side of Houston because I felt his expertise, his quality commercial equipment, and the fact that he did the work personally was what my tapes deserved. No matter where you live, I would recommend using Mr. Scott. I might add that after doing my research and talking to people, I would advise you not to send your tapes to a nationally advertised service. There are ads on the radio for video tape transfer, but I warn you against using them. I also warn you not to use a service through a drug store or discount store. Tapes have been lost using these services, they do not personally monitor each transfer, and you have no idea who is handling your tapes. Mr. Scott put all our movies on one terabyte flash drive. He put them in chronological order (we did not have them organized at all.) He showed me exactly how to copy the the entire file, or individual files, and copy them to another flash drive, or to my hard drive. I will be making copies for each of my six adult children. They have only seen a few of these movies of when they were silly kids, and they loved them, so I know they will love having all of them on one flash drive! I am so blessed that I found this business, and grateful to Mr. Scott for properly preserving my family memories. read more

As someone who has worked in the tech industry, I have very high standards with anything tech-related. I had about 35 VHS home videos that I needed to convert this summer, so I made a few phone calls around the Houston area based on company reviews. Most companies wanted to charge double the price for *one* DVD per tape. Scott, on the other hand, advised that he would try to fit in as many videos as he could into one DVD, as one DVD can hold 2 hours of video without degrading the quality (and thus reducing the final price). In the end, Scott returned to me less than 10 DVDs, all in chronological order by date. The quality of the DVDs was phenomenal, and I was more than happy with the end result. Scott and Lynn also made sure to answer all of my questions and went above and beyond. This is BY FAR the best place in Houston & best bang for your buck if you're looking into doing any form of video conversion! Very highly recommended. read more

For Christmas this year, I wanted to take the 35 smaller video tapes my mom and dad had done years ago and get them converted for family to enjoy. I have tried another service in Houston before and was not impressed. When I spoke with Scott on the phone he assured me they could do this in a timely manner and that I would be a happy customer. Well, he was right! He was able to condense these tapes down to about 3 tapes per DVD and had them all labeled and organized when I picked them up about 10 days later. They look fantastic and there is a menu in the beginning of each DVD. I feel like their pricing is very good though in my opinion you cannot put a price on these treasured video memories. This was not my first time using video tape copy, but it is the first time I am leaving a review. Every time I have used video tape copy, I have walked away a very satisfied customer. In the past I have transferred multiple DVDs in to flash drives, this go around it was 8 mm track tape to Flashdrives, the contents of the tape were old family films taken in the 1950s ,60s and 70s. It goes without mentioning these have a significant sentimental value. Once converted ,my parents were able to view these memories on their flat screen TV at home, being without sound, Scott added classical music which complemented perfectly. My parents are in their 90s and I enjoyed their reactions to the memories they have not relived since their younger years. My mother was singing along to some of the music and my dad had mentioned some of the songs that Scott had chosen to play in the background were those that he used to play on his saxophone in his college days. The fact that my parents were able to watch these memories displayed so well through the editing of video tape copy, it is only with the heartfelt satisfaction that I wanted to share my story and relate how invaluable saving these memories have been. The extra copies Scott made will make excellent Christmas gifts to my brother and sister. I cannot say enough nice things about Lynn Scott and I would never consider taking my business anywhere else. A++++! After realizing that I lost our VHS-C adapter & that VCRs are no longer being made, I got into a panic that we have home movies on VHS-C and Mini DV, but not way to play them. My tapes start in 1992 and I read that VHS tapes last 30 years. I knew I needed to find a way to preserve these memories of my nearly-grown kids. I found Video Tape Copy by word of mouth. I called Scott, spoke with him, he gave me all the time in the world to ask the many questions I had because I was putting my treasured family videos in the hands of a stranger. Scott has owned the company on FM 1960 for over twenty years. He told me he could put the videos on DVDs, but I wanted them on MP4s with hopes that they will last longer, I can edit them, email them, upload them, etc. I bought a hard drive, dropped off a couple of tapes & the hard drive, had them back in a couple of days and WOW! I cannot explain how happy I am. They have top-of-the-line equipment to reduce any traction issues. There were no traction issues with the tapes we had done. He labeled the MP4s just as I had them on the tapes themselves. What a night we had watching these tapes which have been stuffed in a box for a decade. I will be taking the rest of our tapes up there with complete confidence in Scott and Video Tape Copy.
