The manager told the police I stole my own purse! Which is a custom made plush purse. Clearly not any product that store has anything remotely resembling my custom bag/purse. My children were traumatized and I was harassed (for an hour or more, standing in the rain) over something I didn't do at all. They took photos of me and humiliated me in public over something I didn't do! The manager (Christie Brown) of Party City was completely wrong and ruined my wedding anniversary! I cannot believe this happened to me and I honestly pray this never happens to another customer. I cannot believe she would put false allegations on someone not knowing if they stole anything or not. A manager should know what the products in THEIR store look like. Especially when the plush section isn't but about 3 feet wide and there's only ONE Squishmallows style that's even sold in that store (which is blue, my purse is PINK) it's clearly a custom made bag! I can't help but to think, would she have called the police on a child who's got their comfort plush walking out of the store? This was completely uncalled for & I'm still highly upset about this. My children are still distraught!! it's bad enough the store is trashy and run down. Now you have a manager itching to call the police on customers! Make sure you don't carry any of your own stuff in the store that would make them think you stole it, or you'll be in the same boat as me. I thought it was the managers job to KNOW what products are sold in their store? Or maybe she's just a dimwit who sits on the clock to get paid to do NOTHING.

They also had nicer varieties of household staples but I don't know if they were any cheaper than other stores. I will definitely come back and buy writing utensils I not need. My daughter rented a tent, table and chairs for a baby shower. They said it would hold up in the…read morerain, we get to the tent to decorate and the side had collapsed from the rain gathering on top. Pole completely down. My son n law got a ladder and tried to scope out the water from the top and it was just too bad. Chesterfield Rental was no help, they didnt have anyone available to come and fix. We had a large number of guests coming and food already paid for, we had to do something quick, luckily we were able to secure a banquet hall last minute to hold the shower. My daughter asked for a refund or at least a partial refund because she was unable to use the broken collapsed tent. The staff was very rude, would not refund a dollar and she asked to speak to management or owner and all they did was point to a plaque on the wall of the Tomlinson Group LLC and there is no such business to be located. So you are a business and a customer asks to speak to the owner and all your staff does is rudely points to a plaque on the wall?? What kind of business is this? If you rent from them, you better hope there isnt a problem. You will have to take it up with a plaque on the wall. Either there is no management here or the business is being run by people that dont have a clue. Does the owner know this is happening? Was that the owner? No response? Please take your rental needs somewhere else. Shameful.

I've rented just about everything from them from linen, to china, to glassware, silverware etc. They need to update their inventory immediately with items that have not been overused. After a bad experience with a red carpet rental, I decided that I would no longer use this company. I rented the carpet for an event's entryway and when I unrolled it, it was filthy. Now crumbs, I can deal with, I could easily sweep those away. This carpet was DIRTY, black dirt and footprints all over it. I was so embarrassed and angry. My client's expect high quality service from me. I do not get high quality service from Chesterfield Rental. When I called to express my displeasure, I got "Oh, I'm sorry, I'll give you a credit for a future rental". This week, I was tasked with providing games for a little league homecoming tailgate celebration as a "Team Mom". I hesitantly called Chesterfield Rental to rent a few carnival style games (since I knew they offered quite a few). I rented 3 games at $35 each. All of the games were in bad condition. One (the baseball game) had silver spray paint covering the top right of it, none of the Velcro straps provided to attach the games to the poles were working so a team dad ended up using twine to get them to attach, there were no instructions for how to setup, and lastly, one of the games did not contain all of the right parts to setup. To no surprise, Chesterfield Rental did not own up to the mistake or the quality of the items they rented and blamed me for not saying anything before returning them. Brides, beware. You won't get high quality rentals (chairs, tables, dishes, glassware, linen etc.) from Chesterfield Rental. Will NEVER do business with them again.
