They or she are not strong enough to really get in there. I thought she dilly dallied way too much. She was fumbling with oils and it kind of felt like she was stalling and not really into it. Originally wanted to do the massage at JW Miami Marquis in Brickell area where we were staying at. Shocked that a 50 minute Swedish massage there was only $149 and a deep tissue massage was $179...at JW Marriott!!! Then we looked at locations closer to home so we could stop by on our way back home. Stumbled upon Hand & Stone Massage and Facial's introductory offer of $79.95 for a massage or facial. So we opted to do both. SCORE!!! We secured an appointment online. I have checked out this spot before. They are located in the Weston Road Shopping Center next to Pinch-A-Penny Pool Supplies. Erik assisted us when we arrived and checked in for our appointments. We had to complete some forms and Erik brought us a heated neck pillow and some watermelon water. Once everything was completed, our massage therapist came out to greet us and showed us to our massage rooms. My massage therapist was Elizabeth and she was very sweet. I was getting the Swedish massage. Elizabeth discussed some options I could consider like the hot stone therapy since I have some stress and back pain, old age I tell you. I passed this time but would consider it for next time. Sounds relaxing. Elizabeth was great and for a petite young lady, she had very strong hands. We chatted a bit but I was relaxed during the massage and almost fell asleep. The massage was really good and I would totally come back to see Elizabeth. After my massage, I changed into a robe and was guided to a sitting area in the hallway to wait for my esthetician. Saw my hubby during my wait as he went into his facial. He looked like he just woke up from his massage. Ha. My esthetician was Fabi and she was wonderful as well. She checked my skin and asked me questions to see what my skin concerns were and we talked about my skincare routine and products I use, etc. As she started with my facial, we got to dig deep into my skin issues which is melasma. I got melasma after my third kid, this is common after pregnancy and all the hormonal changes to your body. No fun. Anyway, Fabi was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in trying to help me figure out skincare options for my melasma and steps to improve my skin. I really enjoyed talking to her and learning so much. My facial was fabulous and my skin felt amazing afterwards. I am considering Hand & Massage membership to come see Elizabeth and/or Fabi on a monthly basis. Alyssa at the front desk helped answer some questions regarding the membership options. Basically the membership is an option to join without a contract where you pay a $169.90 enrollment fee but get $100 of that enrollment fee back for your first time. Basically you're paying $69.90. Each month, you pay $79.95 for a massage or a facial, your choice. Versus the regular price of $139.95 per service without membership. You can pay for additional services each month or add-on options too. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. My experience was really nice and way better than I anticipated. I wasn't sure what to expect since this wasn't an actual spa, so to speak. When compared to hotel spa locations. I would recommend this spot and go see Elizabeth or Fabi, they were both wonderful.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a much-needed relaxing spa day at Gaia Spa, and it…read morewas a great experience overall. We booked the lowest-priced ritual package, which included a 60-minute massage (we upgraded to 90 minutes) and a 60-minute sauna session. The cost came to $288 before the tip, after applying a Spa Finder gift card. We tipped 20% for each masseuse, but the "Tippy" system they use for tipping added an annoying $1-2 service fee. It would be nice if they switched to a different system that didn't tack on this extra charge. The spa offers free parking, a delicious ginger shot upon arrival, Fiji water, and free locker access. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was clean, calming, and peaceful. Our sauna session was scheduled for 6:30 PM, followed by our massage at 7:30 PM. The sauna room was spacious, and I managed to stay inside for the full hour, although my husband had to step out to cool off. The heated seats outside the sauna are a nice touch for those who can't handle the full heat. The only downside was that you couldn't play Netflix on the large TV in the sauna, so we ended up watching a movie on one of our phones. The hour flew by, and we wished we could have stayed longer. The TV does display a 10-minute warning timer, and we had to sign a form agreeing to be charged extra if we exceeded the time, so we made sure to leave with enough time to shower and put on our robes. The door to the sauna room didn't lock, which made us a bit nervous that someone might accidentally walk in. After the sauna, a male staff member was waiting outside for us and asked if we were ready for our massages. We quickly put our belongings in the locker, but when we were ready, he was nowhere to be found. We had to go to the front desk, and another staff member escorted us to the salt room, where we waited for about 10 minutes. We didn't pay extra for the salt room, and honestly, we were glad we didn't. It was relaxing, but neither of us felt any real benefit from it. Our massages started around 7:40 PM. The masseuses asked us which areas to focus on and then got right to work. The massages were incredible, with medium to deep pressure--exactly what we were hoping for. They targeted every area, even including our scalp and face, leaving us in a state of total zen. However, the massages were technically supposed to end at 9:10 PM, but when we checked the time afterward, it was only 8:55 PM. The spa does close at 9:00 PM, so we felt a bit shortchanged on our massage time, which was disappointing since we paid for the extra 30 minutes. Overall, I highly recommend the couples ritual at Gaia Spa. Despite a few minor issues, it was a relaxing and much-needed escape!
