I called Vida Nail Spa that I will be there in 10 minutes on a Sunday which is today and they let me in. I had a Lavender Pedicure without nail polish. Van did it for me. I love my nails so clean and she treated it with details with scrubbing my dead skin. Van is great and I will come back again! Hana did my Deluxe Manicure. She clean it very well! She's gentle and delicate with my cuticles and does her best to make sure my nail beds are at their best. My nail growth has changed so much since I found her and have never been healthier. I wanted to like this shop. Both times I went in they were super nice....I went there as a new customer three weeks ago. It's been a long time since I've had my nails done in a salon. I knew I wanted short red almond nails. So when I went in, I showed the nail tech what I wanted and they asked me if I wanted acrylic or gel. They said I should try the gel. It feels much lighter than acrylic. I agreed to do the gel. It was my fault for not asking, but when they rang me up, my total came out to $74. (that is without tip) pricey but I love the way my nails turned out so I didn't mind paying that much. They lasted 3 weeks no problems no lifting nothing. I went back in for a fill wanting the same exactly nails. I assumed it would be cheaper for a fill. Again my fault for not asking when he rang me up it was $72 for a FILL and this time my nails looked terrible compared to the first time the nail tech completely over-filed my nails, so they lost their shape. I came in for a pedicure. It wasn't my first time, I've been here numerous times, every time just seems to get worse and worse. I've heard some about the bad experiences here but I tried my best to have a good out look. This time was just immoral and awful. I came in for a French tip gel pedicure. I got the luxury Lavander. I paid $90 to walk away with white gel paint on my skin, and shaky lines, and milky looking nail bed due to a sloppy job. As a beauty industry worker and single mom, I take this time very seriously. I chose to come here to spend my money, happy to pay an automatic 20% gratuity. I guess automatic gratuity means no effort or pride in the work leaving the salon. I am leaving to Tahoe on Thursday and this was the only slot of time I had to get my toes done and unfortunately I don't think I will be back. My last two visits I wasn't even offered a complementary drink... I've been a customer here for 2 years and never thought to complain or saw myself never coming back but I'm sad to see the day come. Every visit I always hear or see people coming back to complain about their service and are met with a disrespectful owner who refuses to ever refund or discount an unhappy customer which is crazy to me. The scrubs and massages were good but for the clean up of my cuticles, my tech was really rough and it started to sting when I got home. For the pedicure itself, super sloppy and some of it isn't even cured! The sides of some of them are already lifting. Also, my pinky toe nail is super small and thin but you can see in the pics, he "created" one by painting onto my skin. I have to take them all off because I don't want to risk contact dermatitis. I've gone here once before for a set and it turned out beautiful but I guess for a pedicures, it's better to go else where and not waste $78. Majority of the time, I am able to get appt on the same day. When you arrive, you are offered by a complimentary drink (juice, wine, seltzer, beer, etc). As for the pedicures, they offer different packages but they one I usually get is the lavender pedicure. I am very particular with my pedicures and needed to find someone who can deal with ingrown and I'm so glad I found Monica. She really takes her time with my pedicures and knows how to get ingrown out (very few ppl at salons know how to do this). She is friendly and such a sweet lady. I won't get a pedicure from anyone else other than Monica. As for manicures, I usually get Van and Suzy. But are really nice and does a good job. For full sets, many go to Vivian and Ann for full sets. Vivian is the owner and she's so nice and friendly. She's usually the go to person for designs for your full sets.
