Very dry fish and shrimp, didn't even look like the picture

Monica L.

I felt like I came to a completely different seafood restaurant, total 180 from the one I used to love. This nightclub, sorry I mean restaurant is slowly going away from being a reputable seafood spot. Now it's just a bar to enjoy small bites and a beer so avoid it if you want to enjoy it with your family. We can't even talk! Now the food was the worst I've had! My fish which was pictured on the menu looked nothing like it! It was so dry, burnt and awful, the shrimp was also overcooked and rubbery, like who wants to eat that? I felt so bad asking for a new dish only because the server was nice and we already had to wait a long time for our food to be served. I feel like a lot of things are being overlooked when they are so focused on the loud karaoke singer and having those beers full. I will not come back, this place is now overrated. Once a gem in the area now just a dull rock! P.s. watch out when you pay, the itemized receipts are different when it comes to the tip.

Placed an order to go. Food portion for the Classic ceviche was so small. I was sure they made a mistake, so I called and sent a photo and I was told that was the portion. I don't think so. I've dined in before and the to go order looked like a kids serving.

On Friday August 15, 2025 we went to celebrate a birthday party in a party of 4 adults to the 22400 Hwy 249 location & enjoyed good food, with appetizers and one michelada for 3 of the 4 of us. When it came time for clearing the check, I had the waitress Giselle (Yosi M on the receipt) hold a machine to pay the tab in front of me and said sign. I asked how do I know how much or the tip and she said it will print after you sign and since the bill was over $150, tip was automatically added. I said really, how much and she said 15%. I signed and she printed a receipt right there at the table, off the machine & I guess she expected I couldn't do math & she walked away, paid. Immediately I saw our bill was not in fact over $150 it was $149.60 with tax. So I then factored 15% of that and saw the tip was not that but 25% of that; $37.40. So, Not $150 bill, not 15% tip! So I asked for a manager and Nancy came over at the hostess stand and we she asked we step outside to the entrance and I told her and showed her what happened. She mentioned upon seeing the bill & the added tip the waitress chose, that they don't add tips even to big parties or any size check. She also mentioned there had already been complaints about her adding tips to checks with thar waitress & just that day, they had reprimanded her about 3 similar complaints!! Not fired! The manager Nancy agreed it was a problem, went back to get a copy of the receipt and as she came back with that copy I saw she has cash for my refund of my tip I hadn't given, but it was cash, despite I paid with my debit card(). Then another customer came out, very upset and said that same waitress added a 40% tip without his approval and she had done it before to him and he wanted action. We were floored and as we were there now, 2 customers at the door exposing being ripped off with tips, then a man came out all in black and said "enough, she's out of here", huffed around a bit & went back in. Perhaps the GM?? I was given my tip back but in tip money, 1 ten, 3 fives, and 12 dollar bills... odd bill choice for a debit card tip refund. No offer to comp the bill. I sat there for a few minutes with our birthday party outside, watching the other ripped off customer, who seemed he had a few drinks, getting real pissed. We left it looked like it was going to be a much bigger scene about to break with that. Now the next day, we have to wonder; Why the refund with tip money, is it for no paper trail with the credit card receipts?? It happened to us and another customer at the same time and that's not coincidence, plus he said it happened to him before there. What? This has happened tonight and before and the waitress Gisele (aka Yosi M from Guatemala) is still there!!??!!?? That quick show by the possibly general manager was great, but he didn't offer to comp a meal, didn't get involved and was simply there for a minute maybe 2 with 2 customers that just got ripped off by his staff. He went right back in and his momentary appearance was simply that, momentary. No apology, no pleas come back, not much but a bit of a huff in a so so cameo appearance.... Is this a scheme involving more than the waitress? How often has this happened? Are ALL their customers checking their receipts and tips? Very disturbing and now, I'm concerned about the machine at the table the waitress used to scan my card and pay herself a better tip! She was going to probably get 20%, she chose 25% in my case, 40% with the other customer but he had been drinking and maybe she thought she was an easier mark... Does La Vida Seafood know this is happening ing, what about Los Cucos next door run by the same company? Does the owner know his staff is allowing multiple instances at this location of stealing from customers? Are they stealing from him or just loosing his customers? Very troubling!

Perhaps I am a regular here. Food is good, and authentic ambience. We like coming here

Comida superr mal presentada y poquita !! Tostada de ceviche mas bien parece tostada de pepino muy raquiticos sua platillos

This is a regular stop for us and I was surprised to see I hadn't previously left a review. It's a big boisterous place with a big bar, a couple of covered outdoor seating areas and plenty of indoor seating with an elevated stage. It gets quite busy at peak times and sometimes there's a bit of a wait, especially for larger groups, which the tend to attract. The seafood is consistently very good and the non seafood items are up to standard as well. Favorites include Fish Plays Azul, Seafood all Vapor and Mango Fish. Their ceviche is very good as well. They have some nice lunch specials that aren't on the dinner menu, and it is a bit quieter in the afternoon. Lots of big screen TVs with a focus on soccer /futbol. The service is good for such a busy place; the wait staff hustles and does a pretty good job of keeping up. Generally fairly noisy at night with folks celebrating birthdays, etc. If you want a bit more quiet, choose the outdoor patio. Karaoke night are pretty crazy but good fun. Evenings they also some times have strolling mariachi musicians as well. Our pet name for Vida is "The Crazy Mexican Fish Place" which kind of captures it all. We have been many times and have never been disappointed.

I went last weekend with my brother and it was lovely. Their Halloween decor was photo worthy and I love their ambience. Reminds me of beach I always get their large house shrimp fried rice and it's perfect for 2 people. Do ask for habanero if you like it a little spicy. Also, they had some great alcoholic and virgin drinks to try. I would definitely go again and again.

We came here for a business lunch on Tuesday two weeks ago, and had a solid experience! My group was able to get seated immediately and without a reservation, which was nice. The hostess was very friendly, and Lucy did a great job taking care of us as our waitress. As for the food, it was delicious! Definitely recommend the guacamole as an appetizer. The fish was fresh, and everything was brought out warm. The only thing I would say is for the mojarra frita, it is a lot of fish to peel with small fish bones inside the fish. I would probably get the shrimp the next time instead. Overall though, it was a great experience!

This place is big! Lots of space for seating and outdoor seating that is covered. Sucks bathroom is far away is my only complaint. Food was excellent and very authentic. I love aguachiles which is hard to find and one that tastes authentic as if you were in Playa De Carmen. Micheladas were good and I recommend as well. The basic and the fancy one too. Fish tacos are delicious and not fishy. They come with the best refried black beans and homemade corn tortillas. The beef quesadillas are so delicious. The beef is perfect also aligns with the queso flameado which is just as good if you add beef to it as well again comes with homemade corn tortillas which you don't find everywhere. That the only dish that was not liked in my visit was the chipotle shrimp that comes on the Delmar plate, which is shrimp and beef (surf and turf) Other than that, everything else was delicious I can't wait to be back. I just wanna make sure I don't go when the band is there that is too loud for me but if you like the band, they have it on the weekends about 9 PM so it should be a party But when I was there they had mariachis which were very good. We actually stayed to listen to them after we closed out. If you're expecting chips and salsa, this place does not do that. They serve you warm bread and butter. No complaints about the service. Everything was on point.

Pescado al vapor with jicama and fried rice upgrade

Great ambiance, service was professional, ordered the Pescado al vapor, was tasty! Would consider coming back for another Saturday night.

Brandie A.

The food is some of the best I have had. Great happy hour prices on food and drinks too!

I remember visiting this location about a year ago and enjoying it, so decided to visit again. This turned out to be the last time I ever go back. I ordered the beef fajitas, which is a pretty basic dish. They somehow managed to be hot and cold at the same time. The fajitas were all burned on the outside but cold and rubbery on the inside, as though they had been reheated from earlier in the day. The tortillas were hard and just fell apart in your hands as you picked them up. Asked for new tortillas and they brought the "fresh" ones pictured. Never going back nor do I recommend.

It's been quite a while since I had seafood like this. It was A1 They bring you complementary freshly baked rolls of bread with butter and spicy carrots well not really spicy for me but it's got a kick. Mild flavor carrots there I said it. With a nice seasoning. I ordered a dozen of raw oysters and a cazuela de mariscos. Everything came in huge portions and the seasoning was very authentic. The setting seemed friendly and welcoming and it is huge. You can definitely bring a party of ten no problem. read more

Our server was Leslie. Wasn't a busy night. We were a party of two and got some drinks, 2 appetizers, and would have loved to try the lobster and octopus. But, it should never take 30 minutes for your server to check up on you. She finally popped up and I say "hey it's been 30 minutes"..... and the server says "I know" I know with no apology. Won't be back for a while. read more

This place specializes in classic Mexican Seafood dishes. The restaurant itself is massive. Take your pick of indoor or outdoor seating but beware, outdoor seating exposes you to the smoking area. Something which I hate but that's my personal preference. The bad is well stocked and offers a Vida Shot which is tequila, michelada sauce, and your choice of a seafood garnish on top. Either oyster, shrimp, or octopus. I ordered the Pollo Del Mar entree and I was overwhelmed by the sheer genius of the dish. It's a twist on the Cordon Blue classic but instead of Swiss cheese and ham, the chicken breast is stuffed with shrimp, crab meat, and a deliciously creamy tomato sauce which is loaded with chopped green peppers and onions. I detected a hint of cheese as well but I can't pinpoint what kind of fromage they used. The protein alone is a massive serving enough for two people. The dish is paired with fried rice which rivals that of any Chinese location because of its use of soy sauce and a pickled jicama and mango slaw which speaks to the creativity of this locations dishes. read more

I live in Tomball, and I was dying for a place like this. .. I love that they have a full bar. The food is great, the drinks are great, I love the atmosphere. The only complaint that I have, Is that it's hard to place an order on the phone, because it's loud and they can't hear you. I pass it up on my way home from work, and I would love to just place my order and pick it up. read more

I had heard people talk about this place but never tried it. It was a little on the pricey side but the portions were pretty large. We ordered 2 plates that had steak and shrimp, a plate of fried rice, and 2 agua's frescas and our bill was $70+. However we had enough food for a whole additional meal from that. I could definitely see myself coming back and trying more things on their menu. I really enjoyed the loud atmosphere here. This place has a sports bar vibe but with live Mariachis. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for years and let me just say their service has always been on point. I never take time of my day to write a review but I figured it was finally time. Claudia I believe she is the manger let me just say WOW splendid!!! Never seen a Manger like her, super sweet, beautiful and very independent. She makes this restaurant worth it!!!! I went to the new Katy and horrible service sheesh. But I have gone to many restaurants and never in my life have I seen such a hardworking manger like Claudia. She needs a raise!!!!!! Welp..my first and last time. This place gets packed and idk why the food isn't that great. I got mango Tilapia fillet on a bed of rice with a salad on the side. I will admit my food was pretty ok. I wish the put more salad tho. I got a piña paraíso but mine did not look like the ones in the pics at all. The waitress brings it and says oh I think your cherry fell. I asked for another one and never got it. Just whip cream is all I got and I still paid full price. Also, I tried the sopa with different type of seafood. It was good but the soup tasted like a tomato bisque. Disappointing. The tables are too close together but I get they are trying to sit more people but I don't like being so close to other people I don't know. I don't even like people sitting in the table next to me if they don't have too lol anyways food is ok I guess. Ohhh and too fucking pricey! Like I said not for me read more

This place.. it was a Sunday afternoon. A 5-10 min wait time. We ordered Pollo Del Mar, the Classic Ceviche and two margaritas. We took bites of fresh ceviche ( be sure to ask for the green salsa) as we talked about our recent trip and our kids and what we have going on for the rest of the week.... pollo Del Mar will leave you speechless. We didn't talk much during this time and when we thought we were finished, we ordered two more margaritas, closed the tab and moved to the bar where we kept talking and talking till we ordered the fried shrimp, yes sir. Tipsy as charged, he had another and I finished with a tall glass of water ... we had a good evening! Service wasn't bad, food comes out crazy fast and always fressssshhhhh. OH and order the pickled carrots I think those are complimentary and yummy. There are TV screens EVERYWHERE and will always have a game on. FYI it can get pricey! read more

We stopped in for an early dinner this past Friday night, and were very happily surprised. We expected a nice, simple restaurant and hoped for decent seafood. We got so much more than that! WOW! This place is LOTS of fun. The hostesses were friendly and greeted us with a smile. The turquoise exterior and neon sign invited us in, and the thatched roof patio out front looked tempting, well lit, plenty of seating and white strings of lights made you want to order a cocktail. Too bad the night was chilly. (We will be on that patio as soon as the weather warms a bit). The interior is just as fun. A large u-shaped bar off to the right, a live mariachi band, plenty of space in both main and secondary dining areas. Clean, TV's surrounding the room playing sports, etc. Seriously, there were probably 30 of them in this place. Much more spacious inside than you would expect. Our octopus cocktail starter was amazing. Fresh, tender octopus, in a cool, house made cocktail with just a hint of spice. Loved every bite. Our meals were very good, well prepared, and generous with the portions. Our only complaint was that my husbands "Shrimp Diablo" were actually not spicy at all, even though the menu warned about the heat on this dish. Oh well, at least it was flavorful and well prepared. Can't wait to go back for more fresh seafood and a cold beer on that patio. read more

My husband and I love this place, we've been a few times and we've discovered that the food really depends on what cook is working that night. The first time we went we ordered the crawfish and they were amazing, the second time we went and ordered the crawfish they were very very different same with the third and fourth time we went, we've ordered real food too and it's the same as with the crawfish, the main reason we go back is because 1. The waitresses that speak English as their first language are very friendly and on top of their game, the witnesses who don't speak much English are rather rude when we ask them if they can repeat themselves, just an FYI 2. Their MILITARY DISCOUNT is pretty Damn good! My husband is a disabled vet So they treat us right when we go in. And 3. Its fast we don't wait forever for food even when they are busy. read more

We went here on a Friday night around 9 p.m. after yet another long week of travel. I was pleasantly surprised at the menu. I love ceviche and was happy to see several options. There were many fish options I was looking at as well but ended up ordering Ceviche Costeno, I was not disappointed! My boyfriend had the Huachinango (Red Snapper) and it was delicious, not overcooked at all! The only let down was chips and salsa with the jalapeno carrots. We'll be back in the fall/spring to sit on the patio. For drinks, I had a Dos, he had a margarita. He was happy with it, and it's almost impossible to mess up bottled beer. It's cold?

I'm very disappointed in the management / owner of this restaurant!! I visited this restaurant for the first time last week with a friend and we commented that it was similar to Mambos but more expensive. I ordered the 6 jumbo shrimp with fried rice for just under $10.00. I went back today and wanted to order it again but couldn't find it on the menu. The waitress found it for me on the menu. It was on the right side of the menu. Last week it as on the left side that's why I couldn't find it. I looked closer and the price had changed as well. That dish went from just under $10.00 to $12.99. I was shocked. I could not believe my eyes. The comment I made to the waitress was that they had not even been open two months and they already increased their prices. If I'm going to pay 13.00 for 6 jumbo shrimp and fried rice they could at least provide cloth napkins instead of paper towels left on the table and the waitresses could at least dress better than shorts and t-shirts. Since this restaurant is in a nice area, I feel they felt they could raise prices by $3.00. I feel taken advantage of. I will not be returning. VERY OVER PRICED....NOW! read more

We visited Vida Mariscos on Valentine's Day, hoping for a great experience, but it was disappointing. On the plus side, parking was ample and easy, which was a relief. However, once inside, the atmosphere was overwhelming--the mariachi band was blaring in our ears, making it impossible to have a conversation. This probably led to miscommunication, as my daughter's kids' chicken fajita taco order somehow turned into a full fajita platter instead. I ordered the Coconut Mojito, expecting a creamy, tropical drink, but it was watery and lacked the richness I've had at other places. For my main course, I got the Vuelve a la Vida (fish, shrimp, stuffed shrimp, stuffed jalapeños, hush puppies, and rice). The rice portion was tiny, the hush puppies were cold, and overall, the meal was unimpressive. To top it off, the worst part was the automatic 20% gratuity charge, simply because it was Valentine's Day. We had no choice in the matter, which felt unfair given the poor service and food quality. This place used to be great, but it's gone downhill. Between the food, noise, and sneaky charges, I doubt we'll return anytime soon. read more

My husband and I ate here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. They didn't have a lunch menu so we split an appetizer Camarón (shrimp cocktail) and an entrée Pollo Del Mar (grilled chicken Brest stuffed with shrimp. Also, you have to pay for soda per bottle. As soon as we ordered our food the waitress brought us 2 rolls with butter. About 5 minutes later our appetizer and entree arrived at the same time. Which was odd but we were surprised by how fast it was cooked. The cocktail glass had a large chip in it, so we asked for a new one (just incase it was freshly chipped, didn't want any broken glass in our cocktail) the manager apologized and took care of the dish quickly. The food was pretty good and was fresh. The sauce on the chicken tasted like crab bisque and delicious! We also had to wait about 20 minutes cause their system was down and they couldn't print our check to pay. This place is suppose to be a sports bar, but didn't seem to have a lot of "bar food" on the menu. But I would like to come back and on a weekend evening. read more

Fourth times a charm, right? Just walked out to witness a brother trying to break into our F250... this is the fourth time! Stay away from this retail center. Luckily due to timing we scared them off before they could get behind the plate on the door (put there due to the last time it got broken into in this parking lot) and most importantly lucky we weren't armed (because THE TIME BEFORE LAST when broke in in that parking lot where they stole a pistol, we no longer leave a gun in our truck) because I would be on the news right now instead of at home putting out this PSA. Each time I've tried to reach management to give them an opportunity to try some type of security measure as a deterrent to no avail. Hopefully if their business is impacted by this post someone will take notice. read more

Came in late into the city and this was my friends recommendation. Was skeptical at first because the menu has variety from paella to Mexican ceviches but ordered the chicken plate filled with shrimp n cheese and it was pretty good. The rice was tasty and it's served with a shrimp bisque that got cold pretty quick (it was approximately 60f that night) It was close to midnight and there was a festive environment. Might be loud for some people but with a couple of drinks one gets into the mood. My buds ordered the ceviche and it was pretty tasty. The oysters are also fresh and served with 3 little seasoners. read more

All I can say is AMAZING FOOD. Been there three times and each time tried something different and couldn't believe how insanely delicious it was each time. I wanted to speak to the head Chef (yes they actually hired a Chef to create the menu and recipes) to let him know the ceviche was the best I had ever eaten in my life. He explained how they took extra steps in preparing the ceviche. The sports bar, party like atmosphere might not be for everyone, but i found it refreshingly different from your typical restaurant. It reminded me of going out for an evening of dining and fun in Mexico. read more

Vibrant Saturday night scene! This place was buzzing with energy - packed house and live Tejano music creating an electric atmosphere. The seafood didn't disappoint. My friends and I made a reservation at Mia Bella Trattoria over a weekend. I tried their crispy…read morecalamari and potato gnocchi, and both were really enjoyable. The calamari was crispy and light without feeling too greasy, and it was a great starter to share. The potato gnocchi was plentiful and had a rich flavor. I took the rest home as leftovers, and even the next day it made for a good meal. A bit on the pricier side, but still a great spot with a cozy atmosphere and satisfying food!

I was craving pasta, so a friend and I decided to check out this spot in the Vintage Park area. It…read morewas a little tricky to find if you're new to the area, but it's located right across from El Tiempo. We visited around 8 pm on a Sunday, and the atmosphere was dressy casual. It wasn't overly crowded, so we were seated fairly quickly. We started with complimentary bread, which came out hot and was served with olive oil. It was delicious! Since I have a dairy sensitivity, it was a bit challenging to narrow down what to order. I ended up getting the Polpette, which normally comes with two giant meatballs and whole wheat spaghetti, but I substituted with the lamb meatballs because the original version contained cheese. Hindsight, I probably should have stuck with the original dish because I wasn't a fan of the lamb meatballs. That said, the overall flavor of the dish was still very good. If I return, I'd definitely be interested in trying something different from the menu.

What a difference! The atmosphere and customer service have improved tremendously. Maribel was…read moreabsolutely wonderful--she was friendly, patient, great with my kids, and worked with a genuine sense of urgency to ensure we had a positive experience. The manager, Anaiai (I apologize if I misspelled her name), also came by to check on us and make sure everything was going well. We experienced a small hiccup, but she addressed it promptly and made sure everything was taken care of. The level of service was a complete turnaround from our previous visits, and it definitely did not go unnoticed. We truly appreciate the excellent customer care and will absolutely be coming back! Had a prior conflict with customer service (hostess Brittany was awful with customer service but GM juan tooke care of me)

Went to an early dinner with my family and had a mixed experience overall…read more We started with the traditional ceviche, which was enjoyable but fairly standard--nothing that really stood out. For my entrée, I ordered the Vuelve a la Vida prepared scampi-style, but unfortunately, the wrong dish was brought out initially. While the staff did correct the mistake, it meant I had to wait about 15 minutes while the rest of my party had already started eating, which wasn't ideal. Once my correct dish arrived, the food itself was good--well-seasoned and flavorful, but not particularly memorable. I also tried the fresh lemonade, which tasted very watered down, and ended up exchanging it for tea. On a positive note, the restaurant was clean and well-kept. However, the service could use improvement. Our waitress was largely absent, and when we brought up issues with the order, the response felt a bit defensive rather than accommodating. Overall, an okay experience with decent food, but the service and attention to detail left room for improvement.
