Mom and I visited GoodPeople. It's off Ruben Torres near a Goodwill store. It's cute and nice, but with a few tweaks I think they can be pretty great. The menu has your classics: cortado, lattes, americanos, cappuccinos, and pour over coffee, and a nice selection of specialty coffees, cold brew bar, tea, matcha beverages, and fruit refreshers. They also have an assortment of pastries and seasonal menus. I did make a comment that they should probably get the battery replaced in their smoke detector. The constant chirping was pretty distracting. I'm sure patrons who spend time there studying would appreciate that, too. Mom ordered a pistachio crunch cloud latte and a pink frosted cinnamon roll, and I got a rose bud cloud latte. I typically order a cortado as a "control" but I forgot this time around, which is a shame, because I really could have used that unit of measure. I wasn't too much of a fan, to be honest. The rose was very perfumey and overpowering. Before you come at me with, "Well, Cindy, duh, it's Rose," I've had plenty of rose lattes that were an absolute delight.
