Marty at Angelita's is rocking the smoothest, most balanced, long-enjoying, chocolatey, cold process, cold coffee I have had in a long time...and by long time, I mean, I'm a coffee roaster and I had some really good coffee Yesterday, back in San Francisco ... and to stumble across this careful, studious, mad scientist, meticulously light-roasting an amazing Brazilian bean from the Cerrado region...careful to not simply burn it like 90% of folks do, but hang wayyy back and let those complex fruit notes and spices survive the Texas heat AND humidity, and boom, in this music-lover's paradise of a room, quietly protected to perfection. Mom had the Lavender Latte, and I had a PSL and a cortado. The PSL is the best one I've had this year so far. It's warm, comforting, and layered in flavor. It was thicc, and gave an air of romance, if that makes any sense. The cortado was a LOT better than it was the last time I was here. Slightly bubbly but not foamy or yeasty looking, very smooth with a slight fruity and caramel tasting note. Excellent crema and consistency. Nerve Coffee, I was going to sing about your redemption arc but it turns out you were always pretty great.

It does have an inviting feel for me. Plus they actually do make cold brew, which is a procedure to make the coffee less acidic. It is slow dripped over long period of time, like other places like Starbucks that serve expresso on ice and call it cold brew. There is actually a reason to making cold brew coffee. It is made for those who love coffee but have acid reflux issues. Or want to prevent any stomach indigestion. They also sell vegan muffins of carrot cake flavor and banana bread.
