I don't play very many higher end courses so I was looking forward to playing this course. I was very disappointed in the course conditions. The fairways were marginal at best. Winter kill and weedy. Had to move the ball around to find a spot to hit from. I know it's been a tough year but it's already mid June. They should be able to get them healed up by now. The greens were no better. They should be ashamed to present their product out there like this and still be charging a premium price to play it. If they were honest about it up front so that people knew what they were getting into, charge less until things improve, I might play it again. Can't trust them so I'll never play there again. read more

I've been coming to this course for a while, and I've never been more disappointed. Used to love warming up at the range before a round, especially with the range pass. Convenient, simple, and made me feel like the course actually cared about its regulars. But now? They've removed the range pass altogether, and you have to pay every single time just to hit a bucket of balls. Look, I don't mind paying for quality, but this just feels like a cash grab. I already pay for greens fees, food, drinks, and occasionally merchandise -- now I'm getting nickel-and-dimed for warm-up balls like I'm a tourist at a mini golf course? It's the principle of the thing. This place used to be about community and loyalty. Now it's just about squeezing out every last dollar. Shame. I'll be taking my clubs -- and my business -- elsewhere. read more

Awesome course and staff, always in great shape and very accommodating to needs of all golfers. From the new pro shop the the driving range the facility gives you all you need. If you enjoy a large practice facility, a great course and an exceptional staff you can not go wrong at Victory Links read more

Amazing place to practice. Large driving range with biggest chipping and putting facility I have seen. Would recommend

This course never disappoints, some of the best links style golf in the area! This course appears to be WIDE open, but don't let that deceive you. If you are not in the fairway the rough is very difficult to hit out of, which makes it a FANTASTIC links course. I try to play here a couple times a season - I have never been disappointed. Have fun, stay in the short stuff, and you will have a blast! read more

REALLY nice practice facility. Didn't play course but it looked very good too. Looked at a couple greens. They were exceptional. Practice area is the nicest most complete facility I ever used. I travel all over America and have used many different practice facilities. This beats them all. Also they have a putting course with real grass. Only one other place I know of has another one, it is the World of Golf Hall of Fame in St Augustine FL read more

My friends and I had terrible experience with this place. As it was our first time in the course, we learn the rules of where to drive when maneuvering the course. An employee name Jason Erickson however, was very rude and condescending to my group of friends. He came up two us and harassed only us for things that everyone else was doing such as driving on the rough. We didn't know the rules which is fine but when he only targeted us for 2-3 hours of our 4 hour play, that is when there is an issue. I believe because my friends and I were targeted because we are people of color. Many other golfers was doing what we had been doing but only we got followed, harassed, and threatened to kick us out. If we did violate the rules then why were we not kicked out but instead followed for hours? I don't recommend this place to anyone who is of color. I did not feel welcomed when I was here. And the receptionist did not do anything either and made up excuses for why Jason was racially profiling us. read more

I've only golfed the course once, it was nice but get a cart!! Distance between holes can be pretty long. I have been to the putting course a couple times and it's fun and good putting practice (real greens). read more

I'm going to try not to let my lack of warm up (and subsequent poor performance on the first two holes) color my review of this course. Because it really is a nice course. It was designed with youth golfers in mind, and as such there are six tee boxes at each hole (with three designated for differing age groups of minors). We had a cart, and while the front nine are walkable, I wouldn't take on the back nine without one. Not hilly, but some of the paths between holes are road trip length. I kind of wished I had a stereo and a game of Mad Libs in the cart between 11 & 12, and again between 17 & 18. The challenge was great - not a lot of woods, but so much native prairie grass that was so much harder to find an errant ball in than I would have expected. I lost more balls than I'd care to admit (and more than my score card reflects), but it was a beautiful rolling course without much water. The real surprise for me was how much sand they have. I know, it's up on the glacial plain of Anoka County with all the sand that entails, but I've become accustomed to Mpls municipal courses where the sand is sparse and often waterlogged and spongy. These bunkers were actually a joy to hit out of. The sand was so well manicured and soft, and it was also so abundant I got a lot of practice with my sand wedge. Once I was actually disappointed when I fell short of the trap. Because the course is geared toward youth, they accept tee times from minors seven days in advance, but adults wanting open play can only reserve a slot one day ahead of time, so go on a day when there won't be a lot of reservations, but definitely go. It's well worth the drive to Blaine for a few hours of sun and fresh air. read more

One of the better twin city golf courses, well taken care of fairways and greens, different tees for your playing skills and a great staff to help you Bob Prois Blaine read more

Nice course. Always in excellent shape. Greens, fairways, etc. Decent range and range is typically in good shape. Practice area is ok. Depending on who rangers are, don't hit out of sand areas inside putting course. Practice areas could be marked a lot better as seems someone is always unknowingly putting/chipping where they are not supposed to and then have to hear about it from some over zealous ranger read more

Not only an amazing golf course from tee to green, but the mission this course has for youth golf is what will keep the game alive for years to come! Great links set up that anyone can play and it will challenge the best golfer that wants to hit from the tips! And as mentioned above, a course kids can play with tee boxes for them that will help them learn the game and what to expect as they grown into the game. Some great bunkers all over the course that will make you think!. Need to get warmed up? Several pin locations with good yardage sign on the driving range and 18 holes of putting and sand to tighten up the game! Play this course soon! read more

VLGC is one of my favorite courses in the Twin Cities! I love the difficulty, course condition, practice area, but most of all I love the League play. Ben did an excellent job managing the league and gave timely updates and results and is one of the friendliest guys. Patron cards are worth it if you golf there a couple of times, and gift cards are a great way to lock in good pricing. I played 25+ rounds there this season and will try to get a couple more in before the arctic hits. read more
