We were paired with two men, one of whom spent time on his phone while in the tee box. Despite this, course employees explicitly targeted US. They tracked us down after the very first hole and harassed us three separate times for supposedly being four minutes behind pace. Not a single warning was directed at the men. The staff prefer just to hound two female beginners. It is a blatant, sexist double standard. If you want to introduce your kids to golf, do not waste your money here. They made it entirely clear that newcomers and women are not welcome.

We went out with some family members some of whom's first time playing golf. Obviously this would mean we would be slow but to combat this we played a scramble format and most the shots were a few whiffs then we'd pick up and move on. The part that frustrated me is there were other groups in front of us and since most the holes are par 3's we consistently had to wait for the greens to clear or else I would be hitting right into them. The ranger came by and not only told us we were playing too slow but also told us newer players should just pick up their balls and move on. I told him we had to wait to tee off every hole so how can we be the problem of pace of play to which he replied he was telling everyone. Why then take a shot at the new players saying they should just pickup? This is an executive course at an apples orchard, where should new people try to play, at Tory Burne or Prestwick? I would completely understand if we were the reason the place of play was slow, but after having to wait on the tee box every hole and then being told by the ranger our newer players should pick it up was really frustrating. If you're a new player do not come here. And if you're an experienced player there are such better full length courses in the immediate area anyway so I'd go somewhere else.

The course is well maintained with not too many bunkers and not much water but I did manage to find some. A good mix of hole lengths. The service in the pro shop was underwhelming - not the most welcoming but not rude. We got a cart for my dad who had knee surgery not too long ago. It had rained that day but there were no carts on cart path only signs except the par 3. It kept telling him to return to cart path even on a par 5 and would become inop and then make him back up. When we circled back to the pro shop they were able to do a special setting given his knee so they did fix that issue.

The tee boxes were a bit chewed up at times. Fairways nice and rough had some thick grass. Because of recent rain, sand traps were either soggy or like dirt. Staff was friendly. We were paired up with two fun guys were who were lovely to golf with. It was rather slow. We waited on most shots. It was extremely busy and I did notice a ranger on the course at times which was helpful. Carts did not have GPS but there were poles in the fairway to guide you a bit. Loved the flowers. We enjoyed our experience so upped the rating a bit.

There is a setting in your profile to increase the power. The default for everyone is five out of ten. I moved my power up to seven and it's relatively close to what my two doppler radar shows. It's about 7 to 8 yards of carry off, but I can deal with that. I could move it up to an eight, but then my half shot wedges may go 140 yards. Uggg. I personally would rather have more distance accurate tee shots than wedge shots so this works for me.

It's appalling to see such unprofessionalism from a business owner. Crazy how it went from yesterday, him being happy that I gave him a heads up. To today him calling me a "classless f*** t*rd" for forgetting to text him that I noticed the turf was ripping... I understand these mats get beat up often and they often have to be replaced so it simply slipped my mind to mention it to him. For awareness, I was there on a very generous comp pass that was offered to me by him after I helped out in the beginning stages. I indeed did give him many thanks for this as well. There are a number of different tee boxes so you can pick your distance on every hole. The clubhouse isn't much but if you're there to play golf, who cares? We set up a tee time for 12:50 @ LOGGER'S TRAIL in Stillwater. The web site indicated $65.00 for golf and $19.00 X 2 for a cart. When we checked in at the course they charged us $84.00 plus tax +$19.00 X 2 for a cart. At best I would call this false advertising. Maybe they took advantage of the nice weather that day & just gouged that days players. No Sr. pricing was offered as well. I couldn't just let this go, I felt the golfing public should be aware. LOGGER'S TRAIL will never see our group again! Maybe they don't care. BE AWARE!! P.s.....$38.00 for a cart is also a rip!! The prices were cheap and coming from the twin cities it's not that bad of a drive. The one main complaint I'd say is that we had a tee time at 1:45 and we didn't start till almost an hour later because they didn't have carts for us to use. I also suggest maybe 2 porta potty's along the 18 hole course rather than just 1. I have a feeling those trees are growing from a lot of pee. Which brings me to my next point. Though like I said it was my first time so I don't know what's normal but I felt like there were a lot of trees at this course. Kinda hard for a beginner. But overall it was a great day and I had a blast golfing! I would definitely try this course again.
